She shows guilt, which I believe, but not all of it feels genuine. “At the end of the day, I (Natalie) don’t want beef” is a disaster waiting to happen.
The Spanish-speaking roommate seemed the only truly honest one, genuinely shocked at being a victim-unlike Natalie, who chooses ignorance… 😩

Natalie is involved with Jenn's family and has been her sister's best friend forever. There is no way she is going to tell the truth about Jenn. She made it very clear she put culture and family first and she considered what happened to Maddie family business. That's why the police put her name out there. They don't believe she is telling the full truth.

Also, Jennifer said that Mattie didn't like the make shift room because of spiders and it was too dark. I can see that. After all it was right next to the front door and right off that kitchen. Their living arrangements were SO bizarre. Nathalie was sharing a room with her 12-year-old son. Doesn't he need his own space, too? What boy that age wants to share a bedroom with this mother? Then, there is the 4th bedroom that Stephan moved into, and left vacant when he went to his parents'. In an early interview, Jen called it the "guest room." Who the hell keeps a bedroom open for "guests" while her adolescent daughter is relegated to occupying a corner of the living room? When questioned as to why Maddie did not move into that room when Stephan left, Jen said that her father wanted it to be rented. I really hope that Juan (I think that's his name) was asked if this was true, because I had the impression from listening to him that Maddie and her grandfather were close, so I find it hard to believe that he would not have wanted her to have her own room in HIS house. I think Jen failed to give Maddie a room of her own in order to facilitate Stephan's access to her, and deny her the simple refuge of a bedroom door.

What really struck me was when Nathalie said "we're not like that, we love our kids". I interpreted that as her taking his questioning of Jen's involvement personally. Almost as if Jen's involvement would make Nathalie a bad person as well.
It's really interesting to hear her introspection happening in real time. She seems like a very hardworking and caring woman; my heart aches for her.

29:19 Gavin, to answer your question, it appears the abuse and homicide charges will proceed on separate tracks with the former being resolved first…In their Notice of Intent to Seek the Death Penalty (6/10/24), the prosecutors say their decision is based on several aggravating factors, including (and I quote):
“The defendant was previously convicted of another capital felony or a felony involving the use or threat of violence to the person. (The current s*x charges against Sterns will serve as the priors if he is convicted.)”

Yes, and I really hope they'll go for the DP. When they're done with him they must do what they can to charge Jenn. She cannot get away with this and her "blissful ignorance" act. She must have known and if she didn't that's even more proof of what a horrible mother she was.

Yes, almost as soon as they're in the car she's like "-No, I don't want McD breakfast". And then he's like "well ok, then I just drop you off this early instead". It's such a dumb lie and nobody ever believed that BS. Oh sorry, I mean Jenn "believed" it...

Do Nathalie & her son leave before Maddie leaves for school every morning? Wouldn't she naturaaly know where she sleeps? 'I think like she slept on the couch until they put the partition...' isn't affirmative. The notion that Nathalie never went down to the kitchen, for any reason, from bedtime to morning seems impossible.

I noticed there’s like a makeshift “kitchen” upstairs… I wonder if the roommates didn’t want to go downstairs for some reason during the night? Notice the food stuff in their bedrooms (at least one of them), the microwave and mini-fridge upstairs… I haven’t looked at the pics in a while but I think I recall those items in the pics.

On Jenn interviews she cries for herself realizing her birthday is the next day and cries for stephen not Maddie. In this interview Natalie first states that Jenn is a good mom, but then says she feels she has to look out for Maddie, and let's jenns sister know about jenns parenting around stephen..I think there is more that she is not saying. Why is she feeling guilt, I under stand sorrow and disbelief , even with her past issues why is Natalie feeling guilty.

When they asked about JS talking to Natalie about Maddie she specifically mentions there was no boyfriends and instantly I felt like she knows there was an argument between JS and Maddie shortly before she was killed I definitely think SS had an issue with Maddie having a crush on someone

The roommate is biased. She's Jenn's sister's best friend since they were young and there is no chance she is saying anything negative about Jenn. In reality she made a point of interacting with Jenn as little as possible, so she couldn't be that crazy about her. She is involved with Jenn's family and she mislead the police about her involvement/interaction with Jenn after the crime and told contradictory stories.
Jenn did not have a normal relationship with Maddie. She treated Maddie very badly and literally had her in tears on a regular basis.
The police were very frustrated with the roommates and thought they were covering for Jenn and they didn't believe they were being straightforward with them to the point, they made a point of putting their names out there in the public. They considered them to be unreliable sources.

When you house is quite and you're laying in bed and you hear the bumping going on in the upstairs bathroom ,wouldn't you take a little walk up there to see what the noise is. You cant tell me in 5 years she didn't hear some noise that sounds like something is going on. Or your home, your daughters is home, and your boyfriend is home, but you notice the daughter and boyfriend are no where to be found. Wouldn't you go see if you can find them. You don't have to be a genius to figure out something is going on. Especially when you notice the two are not anywhere you can see them. Another idea, you go to the store and return to find the two of them not around where they were when you left 45 minutes ago. So don't you go upstairs to check out where you daughter might be. I just think Jennifer knew. After all she didn't work much and the abuse was almost every day. And the tripod was probably aimed at the bed. If she really didn't know, someone needs to check Jennifer for a heartbeat 💗 she might be dead as a door nail.

I hate to say it but both roommates still live on premises atleast at time of the interviews. They also know the family. They are painting Jenn in positive light and lie she didn't talk to them. Everyone interviewed has invested in lying to cover for Jenn. Keep in mind also, her family is very wealthy.

Maddie did not have ADHD, nor was she autistic. She was an abused, traumatized little girl whose warped mother was doing what is very common for abusers to do, running her mouth making the child the problem because that allows them to take the focus off them (the abuser) and blame the trauma reaction on the child and you are repeating her rubbish as if it's true. Maddie did not "have problems at school", she was exhausted from being abused and drugged up.

    • @NikkiC777

Right when that creepy, p-do, SOB Stern's was gone for a month or whatever, Maddie's school performance turned around completely. She was doing well academically, and seemed well rested, and I think they said she seemed happy too. That just goes to show all her problems were caused by the ab-se and trauma from it that had been going on for likely most of her life.
