7:27 FC Bayern: they will have to do without their main goal keeper for quite some time, after she was diagnosed a tumor. However, Mahmutovic is also good.
I was impressed by the beautiful gesture VfL Wolfsburg made during their UWCL game.
In times like these, it's good to see sympathy being prioritised to rivalry.
    Stay strong, Mala Grohs!

Thanks for calling this out, Oscar. We'll make sure to vocalize this in the next episode. It was good to see Bayern extend Grohs' contract to give her necessary support, and the Wolfsburg banner was very cool. I know football mirror the ugly parts of society sometimes, but it's always nice when it exemplifies the beautiful aspects of human nature, too.
Thanks for checking out the show, and it definitely looks like we'll be talking quite a bit about the German clubs for the rest of the UWCL. -- Grant

PSG lost many top players after last season. Juve is big traditional club. They certainly should invest more in women's football. They e.g. play in Biella 85 km away from Torino. There are 4 clubs having a shot on winning UWC: Barca, Lyon, Chelsea and perhaps ManC. Women's football is in stage that there are a few big clubs, then clubs that loose best players to the big ones every year, and a lot of clubs still working on it. Professional football is only one decade (max) old, and most leagues are semi-prof or amateur. Gladly the development has been quite fast.

Totally agree. This year’s field feels a bit top-heavy but hopefully that means the quarterfinals and beyond give us epic matchups. Also hoping for some drama seeing if Roma can push Wolfsburg for that last KO spot. And totally agree with the need for more investment. I really liked what Real Madrid last offseason. Didn’t fully close the gap on Barca, but they are pushing.

What a scene!! We recapped MD4 last night so that episode will be dropping soon. Some great football in the group stage but I’m a little bummed that basically 7 of the 8 QF spots have basically already been claimed. I guess that will make for an action-packed knockout stage! Appreciate you rocking with us Justin! 🏆 -Dino

Tele 2, the arena that they are playing at, have a retractable roof, so the temperature is actually going to be pretty nice at the stadium.
21k tickets sold atm, going to be an amazing evening !
tbh, most fans are just so proud of the players that they got us this far, and everything that happens is just a bonus, we are here to have fun and pour support and love to the players for all they have given us.

Yeah, but a lot of information in England have actually wrongly pointed out Avivii Arens (for Ice hockey) as the venue, which would have been even worse than the artificial surface at Tele2 for City.

Oh, wow! Thanks for the call-out, SuperY. And you're right, Staffan, I saw a different arena listed than Tele 2 before the match, but I didn't know it was a hockey arena! It's funny how these things are still getting lost-in-translation between the football resources I'm looking at online.
I appreciate you both for the information! -- Grant

Admittedly I'm not well informed on the women's game outside of Barca
but I'm disappointed that Bay FC is not in the US playoffs.
I'm a huge fan of the coach (Albertin Montoya is it?) for obvious reasons.
I suspect he'll take the team far and, if he succeeds Hayes, the USWNT as well -- eventually.

My apologies Morten! Have we started the countdown yet to next year’s qualifying and the return of the mighty Brann to the CL yet?? -Dino

@@IntoTheChannelPod Indeed, only 247 days to go, and I'm looking forward to a short travel distance to the final as well.
I hope to see you both in full Brann kit throughout the competition :)

    I have no problems with Gwinne whatsoever;
    truth be told,
Ona is supposed to be a right back but, for me,
she scores goals and causes more problems when she's sent out to play on the left.
Chelski's Lucy Bronze is worth a shout on the right also despite her age.
I agree, Barca is shaping up better this year than last despite the loss of Mariona and Lucy and without Salma and Frido.
I know she's not quite at 100% yet, but my explanation is primarily Mapi.
Alexia is getting better than ever but somehow, Mapi is like having a second Napoleon on the field.
If you didn't see it you should check out her work in the Clasico --
she tried to score an Olympic goal from the corner kick twice -- 2 time -- and almost did once --
then they were those two sliding tackles on Feller who had her beat for speed.
Then there was the occasion she got a hospital pass under Madrid pressure, momentarily lost the ball and, stumbling, managed to take it back off of Feller and Weir, no less.
Did I forget the 2 cannon balls that sent Misa sprawling.
And she's still not there yet.
    Naomi indeed....

Great shout on Lucy Bronze. She is still playing at such a high-level.
I gotta say, your knowledge around Barca and the sport, in general, has influenced the show, and we appreciate that. I didn't even plan to mention that you might comment about Batlle, but when I said Gwinn could be the best RB in the world, I had a moment of, "Is MLS going to hit me with a bunch of smart points on this?" Lol
The Clasico was great, and I totally agree on Mapi. It's been a joy to see her and Alexia round back into form. As always, thanks for the support! -- Grant
