- Just some bush flying and BS’n with Quinner and Weston. Sorry for the shakier than normal footage, I made an amateur move and accidentally turned off the image stabilization on my camera lens.

Thanks Trent........With all that's going on this makes me smile.
Missed the intro, my 14 &16 yr old daughters come and watch with me every time they hear that intro. The oldest one wants to be a photo-journalist and says you put out the highest quality cinematic videos on RUclips!
Aside from the occasional "side-slip" view, that new camera out on the wing gives some great, wide-open views. The Go-Pros work well showing you flying and showing the plane as a reference point, but the clear viewpoint looks like you're hanging out on the spinner. Excellent shots going down the canyons and the big horizon views... the 4K resolution certainly doesn't hurt either!! Jason's daughter's got it right; these are the best videos I've seen on any subject.
Do you know the name of his intro song?
Always a Fun Adventure. Your best shots are airborne. Beautiful air shots. As you can tell I am fully equipped for adventure... but you can't see my wings. Hay !! That's and idea. Flying Frogs. Hat tip to Trent and friends ~ your neighbor.
Always dig watching your videos over & over ... Enjoy learning ... Always watching your stick hand ... At 9 years old , flew Bush in Columbia ... Raised on a ranch there ... Dig what you do !!!
What a fantastic hobby! I am so envious.
That "northeast corner" location looked like a spectacular camping spot.
Amazing views as always!
Just remember as you guy throw the rocks into the water, that's going to be your new landing zone when the water goes down... If the rocks aren't too heavy, it might be better to take them to the brush/tree line instead.
Really enjoy this kind of video. Kevin is such a fun guy to be around. Weston clearly has a handle on his Husky. I remember riding with my friends for miles and miles all day on our dirt bikes when we was younger. You guys are doing it in your airplanes. Nothing beats that. Flying, finding new lands to explore. Awesome !
Nice to see you posting flying videos again. Love the videos! You're an inspiration for the rest of us dreamers.
I love the sound of Quinn's carbon cub on short short final - that motor sounds so good, video doesn't quite do it justice - sounded even better at Dead Cow!
"this is about 50, I guess" I'm still laughing... what a bunch of fun. Great editing, music, camera angles, exploration, etc. Just bought some shirts. One for my wife "little planes are sketch" and "Fly Low Don't Die" for me.
It's great to see you out having fun again, and taking us along for the ride!
At first I did not like the 360 cam but now I love it. I can see so much more in the videos and almost makes them more fun if that is possible. Please don’t stop with the 360 cam on the wing.
This is what a like, just some good fun flying!
Trent, let alone some amazing bush flying, those virtual or 360 shots simply unreal scenography!👍
I love this! I would love more videos but I appreciate that RUclips isn’t totally taking over your life for daily videos. Keep it up!
I’m 57 years old and someway soon I’m going to figure a way to do this. I’m licensed but I have a lot of work ahead of me for this. I’ll get there. What a great inspiration you are! Thx for sharing
62, and I am on my way, thanks Trent!
Filling it in @ 59 .
Maybe I’ll start a club called “The Flying Codgers” 😜. Reno Air Race here we come! 😎
I'm 48...dad was a bush pilot in Alaska...he always inspired my love of flying...but these videos, not just Trent's, have inspired me to get into flying again and actually finish the process.
@@57eleven1 Flying Codgers? Where do I sign up?
Thanks for the video:
I could get into this if I was a younger man and I didn't have other hobbies, like Ham Radio, Jeeping, Motorcycle's and about 3 others.
Good to see you and Kevin passing the knowledge and fun to others like Weston.
never too late to get your PPL and get in the air!
You guys have too much fun. I did what you guys do back in the 80’s in an Ultralight in NorCal. Mountain tops, beach landings. Brings back fond memories. I could land my Ultralight anywhere. Don’t think my C172 could do it. Keep the great videos coming.
Great way to start the day - thanks, Trent! Glad to see Sucker Punch didn't get you this time. That last landing (with Hailey) really scared me so I can only imagine how you two must have felt. Be safe, brother.
Awesome flying, so glad to start seeing your videos again... certainly helps when the weathers crummy and I can’t go bounce gravel bars... :-)
Few months late but I just wanted to say that the tank at 5:00 is a super neat find. It's a M247 sergeant york, a prototype anti aircraft vehicle infamous for how bad it was (e.g. it once aimed and locked it's guns automatically on members of congress and high ranking military at a demonstration). It's basically a meme tank.
Simple green will remove most anything! Also, my dad who was a pilot of 65 years and had a 1942 Piper Cub and a 1929 Brunner Winkle Bird biplane, always had a good coat of wax on them which made cleaning easier. Thanks for the fun ride!
Simple Green will also corrode aluminum, so it's a no-no for aircraft. Fortunately, there's a blue "motorsports" version that is OK on alumunum.
@@DanasWings Simple Green is great for all painted surfaces, whether it is painted fabric, fiberglass, or metal. Bare aluminum is sensitive to many products. Painted aluminum is not.
Hi Trent. Thanks for your channel. I love it and it motivates me so much. I’ve always loved to fly and took lessons when I was a teen. But eventually I lost track. I love the stol drags. The air races were great. Sorry I missed the fly in. Maybe I’ll get there next year.
Man, Western is nailing it👍👍👍
Another great video, Trent! The wing camera gave an interesting perspective. It looked like the Freedom Fox was flying sideways.
Andy Robichaud Yeah, I’m not liking that camera perspective when it looks that way.
@@badgerovrland5760 Yeah, it does look deceiving & is a bit annoying, but I don't mind it in small doses. Too much would piss me off though!
I agree that angle is not good.
Good to see you finally getting time in the air! Sweet!!!! Fly safe!
So good to have an old school video back.
These videos are amazing!! You’ve helped me realize my true dream. Fully inspired saving up for for Private License, kinda hard at age 16. Keep doing you and inspiring more youngens like me
Awesome! It will probably feel like an eternity but it probably won't be too long before you're flying (especially compared to almost your entire life ahead of you!). I bet down the road you'll be happy you started early and followed your dream!
Happy flying!
Hi Trent, I am looking forward to seeing more video from you. You got me hooked on watching your adventure exploits. Btw I for one would like to see what you have done to your new home place too. Be safe.
nice low key video - great flying spots! I think the cow stuff is something you do once and never again!
Good call on the spherical camera Trent. That thing is awesome.
Is there some kind of RUclips award for consistently cleanest shave?
I would love to see an oil change. It would be cool to see some of what you do regularly. Like your preflight procedures or regular maintenance. You inspire a lot of guys to fly so you should show us some of the safety aspects that you incorporate into your daily routine.
Theodore Arzt he's filmed an oil change in one of his older videos. I would love to see some behind the scenes safety decision making too!
Love your videos! Glad to see you back at it here! Congratulations on the house!
It was epic to watch and dream, I’m 11.8hrs into my training. I’m scheduling my medical next and filing my student pilot certificate. Last night I did 1.2 hrs of pattern work, only one landing I hated ( it was still a safe landing). Super stoked to solo and become one of the group!!!
Awesome man! You sound close to solo!
I’m physically ready, I just need the medical done and I’ll be working through the toughest part....
It’s a big help I train at a class “D” airport.... comms is getting better, learning to talk all over again!!
That 360 cam is doing WORK! Nice job and keep having fun. Can't wait for the next one!
Nice video like always thanks for sharing trent. Dam cow paddy's.
Trent! You've spent so much time on your dream home...an aviators dream home...wheres the feature video of your home? Maybe a fly in open party at your place or something! Been loving watching your videos and the progression of your build!
You make, like the best flyen vid's Trent. 😄 with great tunes.
Greatest vids, tunes are a touch teeny bopper
@@FrankPace54 The tunes need to crash. My mute button finger got numb.

Really diggin that wing mounted 360 cam
All those Cow Pies! LMAO! (We called them Cow Pies on the farm, because they look sort of like a pie just sitting there. And our mother wouldn't get upset as us if we called them that, because we didn't use the word "shit".) I would call that spot "Cow Pies Landing".
These videos make me really wish our country had land like this to play on.
Trent, sometimes you're hard on yourself with impossibly high standards, so hear this: This was a perfect vid. Dinkin', bushin', joshin', talkin' flyin' and smack.
Westin's a dude, good addition to the crew.
I love the 360 camera angle its great! You have inspired me to chase my dreams of being an air taci pilot so I thank you for that. :)
Nice use of the 360 camera! I bet those dirt bikers were jealous as can be. Glad the home build has slacked enough to give you time to film. Keep 'em coming!
Nice music choices Trent, love to see u fly.
great music always
We all loving the insta 360 👍
Gorgeous home, amazing videos.
Stampede i live in Grass Valley . How cool is that... right on..
In Reno through Friday. Awesome weather. Thinkin of trying to do a glider ride this week
Another good one. Thanks !!
Love you man keep uploading
One of your best videos lately
THIS is what it's all about! THANKS!
your hobby is my dream.... i can only imagine what its like to fly around in country like that... One day I'll have a STOL plane and I'll make it out there to meet you
Дерзкие пилоты! Сели на гору очень круто, хорошие виды!
I just rewatched 2018 you and Kevin doing Shannegans , remember ‘20 holes’? I think you should do a backcountry golf fly and a 1 or 2 shot pitch with cup flags and a Astro turf tee...closest to the pin wins the hole, then each keeps their closest distances for each hole; winner on hole 9 wins a 10 gals of fuel, or whatever and a final overall prize, or prizes for each hole.
Beautiful flying. Thanks...
This is yet another great video, I agree that your cinematic skills are on point. Have to say that I love the camera setup on the wing, though it plays with my visual perception sometimes because of the 360, but it’s really cool to see the different vantage points.
Wow Trent, what a dream !
. . . .
(met you guys at Osh)
Great vid Trent ✌️
Dude, it's cool to see just an old school flying video
You guys need to apply to the Navajo tribal council in window rock and get permission to land on Cummings Mesa (next to Navajo mountain Arizona.) I was a sampler for Rare Metals Corp. I was taken there in a super cub in 1955 I was to clear out a runway to bring in the geologist and supplies. We were there for 40 days (one break) prospecting for uranium. The mesa is surrounded by 2000 foot cliffs. One mule trail from Rainbow Lodge at Navajo mountain the top is roughly 15 miles long and 3 miles wide and shaped like a 3 finger hand. It is loaded with rock walls and a lot of evidence of human habitation. I think it fits in with the discoveries of civilization around 10K years ago. Really good PA for your hobby.
Iguana,
Always like it
Great video, as usual.
I dunno how it is for you in your job, but I am seemingly battling my way through the dog eat dog film industry. I am truly happy for you that you have taken yourself seemingly out of the loop and yet are still in it with just a different style of income. I'm not telling anybody anything they don't know by complementing you on how good you are with videography. I've worked with several different aireal company's since I last commented, yet every time I see their different drone set ups I think of your channel. Made some friends from New Mexico, but thats a long way from GA. Anyhow, point being good job, and you are an inspiration for a similar place I'd like to work my way into. (not as a vlogger, but diversified, and a pilot)
The film industry can be pretty rough for sure, which is part of why I am doing the RUclips thing as well, it’s just fun having complete freedom. Even if they aren’t the best stories or films at least I don’t have anyone breathing down my neck! Haha. And very cool about NM, I did a show out there last year and was out there quite a bit. There’s a lot of film work out there!
Hope you get your pilots license! Cheers man
@@TrentonPalmer It is rough at times. The higher up I get, the harder people try to knock you down. I was the PicCar Mech on Zombieland 2. Was PC mech on 4 other shows. Started training myself for PC captain by volunteering my services on a Netflix production. Met a lot of stars, got a lot of good stories, had some great conversations with them. Woody tells some good Bill Murray stories despite the ones he has of his own. ha. I'm in "The Banker", with Sam Jackson, Macky and Holt. Was PC Mech on that. It's just now released a trailer last week. Regretably, I smoke, but so does SLJ... We both had to be on set so we smoked together away from the crowd, .... got some good stories there. It is a roller coaster. Always somebody trying to knock you out of the seat. One of the last notable drone companies I worked with was Ascend Airials. Anyhow, thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work and best of luck to you. If I could ever help you with GA contacts in the 479 or so? I'd be glad to.
@@TrentonPalmer I got to thinking about my response and just how drained I am. Your channel is an escape, and I really, really do appreciate that you are just there to hit up. You are great. Your channel is great. Thanks, and look over me, .... I obviously need a vacation. haha.
You need to come up to Alaska. The entire state is a bush pilot's playground
Awesome Video... I love that 360 camera view and those back country "runways" :-)
Yaay new video, great as always. :)
Cool locations!!! Re: Concrete and rebar... King Herod 30BC poured concrete UNDERWATER at Caesarea Maritima in Israel... the pilings are STILL THERE!
I think bush flying is like golf... gotta get 18 different greens to land on, and you get scored on each landing. Airports are more like driving to and from work, get to point B from Point A and park it. Reverse for trip home, it's just transportation. As for Stampede... great fly fishing right below the dam, and there's some monster brown trout in that lake measured in pounds not inches, if you have the time and dedication to hunt them down.
It would be cool if you showed a bit more of the technical aspects of maintaining your plane like doing oil changes.
That camera gave the craziest perspective... I thought you were extreme crabbing...
I guarantee this guy is having the time of his life. I know I would.
Thanks for another great video Trent. Don’t work to hard !!
Love your music choices for your videos, good job on everything!
@Jimmy Crackcorn Not sure what it matters but yes I would, just the same as YOU are still watching them with the so called cheesy music.
Music is by far the hardest part of making these videos. Finding decent licensable music that is affordable is nearly impossible, plus with everyone having different tastes in music it’s simply something I’ll never win. A video with no music would have virtually no rhythm or pacing and would be super boring to watch (for me at least) and even worse to edit. So I do my best with what I can. Stoked you liked the music Justin! Sorry you don’t Jimmy
@Jimmy Crackcorn I like that pepsi challenge idea. We may be in the minority but I agree that this would be less annoying and more enjoyable watching a bunch of friends having a blast in their planes without the less than epic disco music. Those motors are music to my ears. Incredible photography and great story telling to go along with it.
@@TrentonPalmer I'm with Trent; his musical taste isn't mine but it adds a rhythm that makes the video flow better. Plus with a lot of the camera locations all you get is annoying wind noise. It's a lot of work balancing the camera sound and the music just right.
Down near Boca dam are some more foundations, that was the Ice house, i ce was loaded onto the train and moved by rail to Sacramento and on. There is a great PBS documentary on it. (Pretty sure i saw it on PBS.)
Yeah! When I was growing up they took us on a field trip out there, pretty cool
Call it dirt bike beach! :)
Need to get my CH750 out your way sometime, Trent. See if a Nose Dragger can keep up.
Hey Trent, Have you ever been bush flying in other countries (besides Canada)? You should skip down to Australia some time. I reckon you'd like it.
Like your video from your 360 camera.
You have cow pies, in NC we have goose poop...way too many Canada geese here.
Excellent! Thank you so much. You take us where a lot of us can't go. I gotta suggestion. Get with Josh from "Aviation101" and fly with him. That would great.
For a second I thought Quinn was going to stop at "Hey Beautiful" instead of "Hey, beautiful spot"
4:40 Trent's Birthday Beach 👆😊
Chuckle, you guys still doing that whole lens slam "thing".
Just for your info, Stampede was not built until 1970 and was not used for ice. Boca was used for ice which was put on the train and shipped to a wide variety of places.
Interesting! I knew Boca was used for ice, because at some point in elementary school we had a field trip to the old boca town area where they have all the signs with the history on it, wasn’t sure about stampede. Very cool, thanks!
I just built a piper Pawnee and I hope to try some of this around Florida maybe some time I might go out west
Hey that's a drywaller move dude lettin' the newbie blow remnants of patty, which by the way, nice spatter on your sweatie at the end, we "hangers" joke about our "luck" which I totally don't believe in... another great vid and I appreciate it !
More! we're jonesin out here :P
I'd love to see the maintenance side of it.
Sick!!! Any chance of doing this near Reno?
"That's chip beaf on toast", P.S. done that, been there. 😄

Also, it would be great to hear how you got into full scale aviation and the steps you took in your journey to back country flying. I understand there was some requirement as part of you UAV activities?
Trent has a video. Look down his list.
@@hotrodray6802 thanks for your reply. I did look but couldn't find it. I'll try again, unless someone knows which video it was. Cheers.
I would enjoy some more plane maintanence videos!
Thanks Trent. Love these videos. I'm not a big fan of that boom camera, though. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but the lens on that thing makes it look as if you're flying sideways. Maybe there's a narrower-angle lens out there with your name on it. (Just a little snivel, nothing really important.)
And oh yeah you’re videos better than tv. Watching
Another fine and fun clip. Excuse my ignorance, but I've been wanting to ask, what are those beeps just before touch down? Stall warning? Cheers from Aus. (Or Oz!)
Trent,
I don’t know if you’ll get a chance to explain what a roller is so I’ll try as best I can. I am not an expert but I will give it a try. When wind hits a big hill it has to pick up speed to flow up and over the hill adding to indicated airspeed and adding some vertical velocity. That air mass as it crests the hill and rolls over the crest loses speed and heads down the hill. If you were to add a smoke trail to the wind it would look a lot like a rolling pin rolling down the hill. The bad thing is that as you hit the leading edge of the rolling pin the wind has very low forward velocity and rolls into a strong down draft. The top of the roller has a little extra air velocity (good deal ). If you are really low and fly into the bottom of the roller you will avoid the down draft but the wind will have less available forward velocity (not a good deal). That is why you need to stay above the roller which forms right at the downhill crest of the hill. I hope that helps and please remember that I don’t claim to be any kind of expert.
