- Hong Kong welcomed the New Year with a dazzling fireworks display filled with cinematic soundtracks at the iconic Victoria Harbour. The city showcased its 12-minute fireworks musical, the largest New Year's Eve firework display ever for the city.

Hong Kong has a lot of pent up energy (and fireworks stockpile? lmao) from having some of the world's longest-lasting pandemic restrictions. This was by far the biggest ever western new year fireworks show they have held since starting this tradition less than 20 years ago.
Traditionally, Hong Kong only held huge fireworks shows for the Lunar New Year, which is a longer 20-minute format.

No that is incorrect. HK Fireworks were cancelled 4 years in a row: 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Just google it next time or “Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt.”
