@@KevinTalbotTV with helis its even more impressive than fpv drones because 1. they have a gagillion parts and 2. they are Line of sight not first person view which is way harder to keep orientation
100% Kev is a class act RC wise, flying a heli like that needz huge skillz, the plane is easy compared to the heli, and rightly he bosses it too!
If you get the bug when you’re broke like I did you’ll stay on the computer simulator for years before being able to afford a heli. 🤣😂 I’ve never wrecked and I can hover inverted and fly forwarded inverted and do a few tricks.
I've learned on old type of rc heli that had a flybar to stabilize the heli nowadays we have flybarless systems that do all the hard work for us BUT! To learn to fly a model grade rc helicopter, you need a lot of patience and understanding of how everything works and also hours on simulator before you should even consider flying a proper helicopter. They are expensive, hard to master but eye candy, beautiful and once you get the hang of it, it becomes a addiction 😬. I went through so many of them... But have only one still fully functioning and it's the best one I've built. Gaui X3 with tons of upgrades and 6s 22.2volt Power. That's one scary machine. Flies like on rails but way overpowered for it's size. ( But the adrenaline i get from flying it is indescribable)
Let's get some appreciation for how good Kev actually is at flying helis.

the wood puzzle was soaked in water and compressed/manipulated in a vice to allow the pen to be inserted. then left to dry out and straighten. notice the wood is a soft pine. I'd like to see that done on a piece of oak!
Could not do that with Australian Iron Bark wood either.
Could also be done with hot steam, same thing basically.

You say you're not good with fixed wing aircraft, but as an experienced rc pilot, you did very well. Definitely lots of skill.
I'm very good with fixed wing but quite bad with helis.

Great heli vid Kevin, I really enjoy these. Have you considered FPV quads? I was big into the RC cars and stuff, but the quads have pretty much consumed me now. If you enjoy building the heli’s, you will like building the quads also.

I used to fly helicopters (almost 10 years) but then those new regulations came and kinda ruined the fun for me (thank you Drone flyers)
My last helicopter I've build was the same Fireball you have Kevin, never flew it and sold it. Now only have an Oxy2 and planning to get the M1 and M2 just to have some cheap flying fun on smaller fields.
The pen is strapped to a tiny tree and allowed to be surrounded by the tree. In 20 years cut the tree down and the pen is embedded in the center of the tree. Or use steam to bend the wood and insert the pen into the holes, either way works.
We 100% need to see Kev buy, build and fly an RC jet fighter (obviously the worlds fastest) be one of his best crashes to date!😆

IF YOU WANT THE MOST CHALLENGING RC HOBBY TO LEARN, DO HELICOPTERS. Its by far the most difficult, high level engineering and high level electronics to learn out of any rc hobby. Frankly its the only rc hobby that isnt boring
