Someone who I thought was a friend (male) ghosted me. Never know it would be so painful. We never had a fight or anything. He actually ghosted me on the same day we spoke. In the coversation, we were telling each other to get some rest since we were tired.The worst thing is I have to see my ghoster. So am just keeping positive, pray and continue to live my life. I know it will get better
I am sorry to hear that you had to experience that. My situation was almost similar like yours, that was back in 2023 and in January 2024. In 2023, I thought I had a best friend and we were friends for couple of months and then when I told her to be honest with me with something, she ghosted me in real time. I didn’t think much of it at that time, though I was appurtenances a bit. 3 weeks later, she reaches out to me, she gives me closure, I forgive until on January 2024 where we both said to each other good night as we were tired chatting for the very last time, and the audacity of her to ghost me while I was still sleeping. The things she said to me, didn’t match with her actions. It was just a bunch of bogus lies and manipulation. And the fact she told me what she does to others should’ve been a red flag for me immediately, but my dumbass let my guard down. I was a fool to have her in my life for the 2nd time when I could’ve just, ignored and moved on. And I am disgusted that I put so much effort into trusting her just to be backstabbed. I was depressed for 3 months, i feel better now and I have moved on. but what she did is unforgivable.
I start feeling so much in pain. On the first week, although i was frustrated, i was accepting this situation. But as soon as i realized that he watches my stories, i felt pushed down the hill. It devastated me even more, because it made me question about myself "he has not responded for over a week but keeps watching my stories i must have said something wrong or acted wrong". My heart is wounded. I feel physical pain. I understand the point of not waiting for closure or hoping for their return, but my pride and trust are broken. I miss his smell, especially. The security he brought me. The way he made me feel like.
Thank you for such a clear message. Recently reconnected with an old boyfriend from over 20 years ago who is now a widower. I had to step back emotionally because he is in such a state of grief 2 years after her passing. He seems to want to connect with me on his terms as "friends" but I still could see us as more. I tried my best to be truly supportive but see that in the long run my being what he wants is hurting me. I wished him well and was thankful to reconnect for this brief time after so many years. It hurts but I know in the end it is for my good. He did not respond any further after I let him know I will always keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Sad to lose him for good but I know in time I will heal.
I got ghosted for the first time. But I am hearing it is best to just realize that this is no longer a rare occurance, so don't be shocked when it happens. It's not to say expect it, but don't go into dating being naive that it's just now a part of the terrain of the dating field unfortunately like other negative things in life like bad weather and car accidents.

Had an amazing first date with a girl ended up in the bedroom, organised a 2nd date and she agreed. Came the time to meet no show msg to see if she was ok. Nothing Msg her the next day telling her had a great time would love to see her again but the fact she flaked wasnt cool, you could of just told me something came up Again she read it and nothing Like just rude and disrespectful just tell ppl
I met a man last week on Tuesday who I initiated contact with because he showed interest but didn’t speak he received my number and we began to speak on Thursday and everything was feeling good I then initiated contact again on Friday to actually spend time with him and I enjoyed myself . Throughout our conversation he mentioned a lot that there would be days he’ll see me call or text and wouldn’t acknowledge it and didn’t want me to feel some type of way. Today , we had a conversation this morning about the same thing and before getting off the phone he seemed agitated and I wanted us to get to a peaceful place before hanging up and he dismissed me so I know his schedule so I haven’t heard from him since our last conversation from 9:30am so I called at 4p and then called again at 6:30p but have heard nothing and now I’m like is this him telling me he’s done although he’s said that if he was no longer interested he would tell me. It’s just annoying because how can you let your guard down when you keep getting treated in ways your guard needs to stay up

You seem to be the one initiating and him entertaining you and putting in a scenario that gives him flexibility on how he wants to relate with you. It’s not really about guard up/ down. It’s more about mutuality. Choosing someone that’s choosing you
