Liechtenstein, officially the Principality of Liechtenstein is a small landlocked country in the Upper Rhine Valley between Austria in the east and Switzerland in the west.
From north to south, the country is about 24 km (15 mi) long, an area of 160 km² (61.8 sq mi) making the country the sixth-smallest independent nation in the world.
Today Liechtenstein has a population of 37,600 people (in 2015), and the national capital is Vaduz. The spoken language is German.
The United Nations ranks Liechtenstein 2015 as the country with the highest GDP per capita, ahead of Monaco and Luxembourg.
The economy of Liechtenstein is mainly based on manufacturing, and the service sectors, especially the financial field. The country is a specialized financial center with strong international connections. Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) and it partakes in a customs union with Switzerland and uses the Swiss franc as the national currency.
We know that micro countries are quite interesting, especially for our industry.
But how difficult is it to get citizenship or a residency in Liechtenstein?
Is it still considered a tax haven, and what are taxes like in this country? What about banking? Forming a company?
Today we're covering all you need to know about Liechtenstein!

I think people who live in Liechtenstein are among the luckiest in the world. The Prince is an accomplished economist and is committed to personal freedom. He's one of the wealthiest monarchs in Europe but is not nearly as famous as other monarchs.
Probably involved in all kinds of shady criminal deals involving all that banking and black money as well
oh hehe thanks😂😂
I love how you feature places like this that aren't widely discussed!
Thanks!
How familiar were you with Liechtenstein?
Yoooooo Micheal more of this man. I know this takes more effort, research and what not behind the scenes but it's well worth and well marketable (More valuable content against your competition).
Thanks for the feedback, Akshay!
How familiar were you with Liechtenstein?
@@OffshoreCitizen Honestly my first time. I was bombarded with the usual Portugal news and many other information around was too abstract, like how crypto tax will hurt you. Nothing that had substance. This was refreshing.
If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be Liechtenstein.
What makes you attracted to Liechtenstein?
Safety, wealthy, free healthcare, great nature, low taxes , no capital gains tax, no wealth tax, low VAT, excellent banking, low corporate tax, no cfc rules, peaceful and quiet.
Foreign nationals wishing to live in Liechtenstein require a residence pemit. A total of 89 such residence permits are granted by the government each year to citizens of EEA states and Swiss nationals. In special cases residence permits can be awarded to citizens of other countries.
Do you live there?
Wow, I learned so much from this video on Liechtenstein! It's amazing how such a small country has such a rich and complex history. If you're interested in learning more about Liechtenstein, I highly recommend the book
'A Journey Through Liechtenstein's Fascinating History' by Lea Marie Nigg.
It's a beautiful and informative book that offers a unique perspective on Liechtenstein's history!
I would move there if I could,👩🏼💻🥇
Very cool. Lichtenstein. Glad you are there. Sweet.
Beautiful country! Have you ever visited?
Can you explain more what part of the tax system is better than Switzerland? I did not quite understand that part.
Taxes are substantially lower pretty much across the board, Switzerland isn't that tax friendly
I really liked Lichtenstein but it seemed almost impossible to get in . . . How do you see a path?
What about residency Visa? Like PR?
No agreed it's insanely difficult
@@OffshoreCitizen Thanks again guys.
@@OffshoreCitizenHello, who has the highest salary, Switzerland or Liechtenstein, for example, a comparison of Zurich vs Schaan, who ranks first??
@@New_York2024 Switzerland has the highest disposable income level in the world & highest salaries based on global rankings however micro states are probably exempt from that statistic due to lack of data, so it could be Monaco/Liechtenstein, IDK.
Is ot worth to do masters in computer science in Liechtenstein
Hello, who has the highest salary, Switzerland 🇨🇭 or Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 for example a comparison of Zurich vs Schaan, who ranks first??
My uncle Vallerio lived there I visited the church I got a stamp on my passport
oh great no capital gain tax! how much is there annual bank interest for deposits?
Nothing to speak of but I wouldn't recommend looking to bank interest regardless, there are much better options
Not worth the drama for residency / citizenship. Have a job opportunity in Cyprus but seems to be high tax rates. Any solution to this?
It will all depend on the details of your specific situation. There’s no one size fits all.
It’s probably best to reach out and we’d be happy to assist you with the optimal solution
@@OffshoreCitizenWho is richer in terms of wages, Liechtenstein or Switzerland?
Opening up a Gmbh there? To serve as a small investment company, how is that idea?
Is a nice place but is too quiet 😅 imagine at night 😂😂
is this a country that doesn't have a traffic light?
Did you know Alaska was offered to Liechtenstein, before they gave it to the US?
No? That's interesting
Can you explain a bit more about the Holding companies ie do they need economic substance to operate there etc?
Depends on from whose perspective. From a Liechtenstein perspective no but the bigger question is what's needed in your home country
looks beautiful
1. Is it possible for non residents to buy an apartment. 2. What are the rules for EU citizens to stay there without being a citizen?
Guess not... Can I buy property in Liechtenstein?
The purchase of real estate by foreigners is strictly regulated. Buying property requires 3 years residency first. The European Community has given Liechtenstein the freedom to restrict entrance due to its small size.
will you visit Luxenburg also when you are almost there anyway ?
Unfortunately, not this time.
Have you ever been there or to Liechtenstein? How was it?
@@OffshoreCitizen no not been there but ots ontresting
Solid country but banks have high fees and high minimum deposit. Not really worth it unless you are willing to pay high fees in order to underperform the index.
I wouldn't use them for much money management but a lot of this is a function of how much wealth you have
Georgia Does it have a tax on crypto ?
That's certainly a place I'd love to move to from the research I've done...if my family could somehow get residency. I think that would be quite a mountain to climb, though, unfortunately. Do you feel like it's pretty easy to get by on English there?
Yeah English is fine
Thats How the truly Rich Operates Lowkey
İt will this week gettin claim aslyun in this counrty
Even if every naive Lichtensteiner likes this video it wouldn't get more than 40k likes.
❤❤❤
what do you mean blacklisted?
Some countries have blacklists where income from those countries are taxed more aggressively
🕊🌺🥰❤️❤️❤️☝️😇💪🏼👏🏼👍🏼🥇💫☠️🦅🇺🇸🇵🇰🇦🇫❤️🤙
I believe the population votes on new residents. You also most likely need to speak German. Probably not realistic for most people even rich ones.
Yes, quite quite difficult to obtain. But you never know :D
For unvaccinated traveller , you need PCR test ?
To get into Liechtenstein from Switzerland no but you might to get into Switzerland depending where you are coming from and when, you'd need to check
hello????? ofc we have train station😂😂 its not big but still..
