I came across this a few days ago and I still can't stop watching it. Halfway through Tal's solo, I realized she was something special, only later to discover she is a prodigy of enormous talent. Nobody can teach what she does. She was a perfect match for Jeff's genius. She will carry on.
What life! What guitarist can you name who continues to get better the older he gets. He went out doing what he loved and on top. Seeing the funeral procession, I thought the queen had passed. The outpouring of love and respect for the man was touching. Been a fan since the Yardbird days.RIP JB.
I remember some time ago reading someone’s comments disparaging Jeff’s playing. I thought about it for a bit and had to comment on his comment. First off he is somewhat a young man in a foreign country and I wanted to be curious but show my displeasure in his statements. I just asked why did he click on to the video if he wasn’t a fan of his playing? “He doesn’t play chords, uses the trem bar to get notes right and misses one out of 3 notes. As a guitarist myself, and old, for the life of me what in this universe does he think is good? RIP Jeff Beck. I grew up with your playing and will die listening to you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
My friend, I take no notice of people who denigrate greatness (if you excuse the pun), I just think they are envious, shallow, untalented people, who are jealous of the gift that such great musicians have.

I listened to the original version of this song from Blow By Blow in the '70s that I literally wore the album out. I'd go to bed almost every night as a teen listening to this song. Just a beautiful piece of music and playing.
Cause we've ended as lovers was written by Stevie Wonder, and Jeff Beck covered it brilliantly. Jeff Beck was a guitarist's guitarist and a fantastic session player. He worked with anyone he wanted to work with, basically.
It was given to Beck as compensation for Wonder beating Beck to the recording studio, with the Superstition riff, that came out a session they played together. Of course Beck wrote that riff. It makes perfect sense now.

The blow by blow version is 1 of my all-time favorite guitar solos. It was dedicated to the great Roy Buchanan, Southern MD's finest. I love this version too. Great reaction and.... great hat. Thanks : )
Everyone always talks about Jeff beck, and understandably so after his death.. but everyone equates that song cause we Ended as Lovers to Jeff Beck when in fact Stevie Wonder wrote that song and his wife Syreeta sung it..
Ummmmmmmm .... OK .... name a known guitarist who plays with no amp and uses a DI instead of a microphone. I'll bet you can't. Too many restrictions on your stage sound, plain and simple. Yes the Marshall is plugged in, it just isn't turned up to '11'. Cheers!
