I know people with much larger bikes(myself included) and thoroughly enjoys this bike. It's predictable as you say, not overly powerful, but it's super flickable, easily ridable in cities and heavy traffic and just a blast in the curves. Kawasaki nailed it with this bike. Loving my 2019 Z650.
@@darthkarroto2183 I’m not him, but yeah, especially if you plan on doing a lot commuting on it. A 400 or smaller is just good for puttering around town.
Mine is a 2019 model and it's average fuel consumption is 4.23l/100km. I prefer twisty roads and I wasn't feeling secure on stock Dunlop SportMaxtires if the road was wet. After 8.000kms I switched to Mitas Touring Force which are affordable but so much grippier and confidence inspiring. Similar tires are Metzeller Roadtec 05 and Pirelli Angel GT. Basically, those tires are going to lower the acceleration just a bit but you'll get so much more grip. However, this bike is not a racing machine. Machine is really quiet and it works nice in range from 4.000rpms to 8.000rpm. While cruising on low rpms the machine has that unique sweet quiet relaxing almost hypnotising sound. If you are taller than 6ft/182cm you should probably buy an used z650 or Yamaha mt07 which has wider bars and after 2 years switch to Versys 650 or Suzuki Vstrom 650, Yamaha Tenere 700 or Husqvarna Norden 901. It is possible to install higher seat, wider bar and a bar riser for Z650 but you must consult with professional mechanic because stock front brake, throttle and clutch hoses might be too short. For the first bike it is a great choice besides MT07 because of the linear predictable acceleration, manouverability, economic consumption, excellent manouverability, reliability, low insurance and registration costs.
Good vid bud ...speaking of power...most bikes in the sixties had only 40 to 50 hp. When kawasaki hit 100 hp it was considered ..like going to the moon!..
Hi, I would recommend you a higher windshield for better protection and foam grips against nasty vibrations from the 2 cylindre motor. Other than that, it's a nice bike. I rode 8.500 km in a year.
@@robertschulz6660 I have a zero gravity corsa which helped with wind blast. Found grip puppies online. I have woodcraft clip ons so my position is more slung over then stock. City traffic is the worst but it is nice in the corners when I hang off the bike when it’s leaning over. I’m at 4500kms in three months. Thanks!! Good riding!!
No. It’s been proven that the break in period is only a thing they say to get you to get used to the bike. But still, take it easy until you are used to it
I bought a 2020 Honda cb300r as my first bike and I’ve had it for over a year , what a great little bike to learn how to ride a motorcycle, but I’m ready for a bigger one and I was thinking about the z650, but I’m undecided between the z650 and the z900 , the z900 is only 1200 more
Thanks for sharing, I plan on getting a bike next year I've had a yz125 when I was a teenager ,now I'm 52 been wanting to either get this ,or the ninja 400,I'm 5.7 205 pounds, the dealer keeps leaning me towards the ninja 400,is there a big difference in power between the ninja 400 and the z650, I no the price is different especially dealer cost, but hate to get something I'm gonna get board of fast, meaning not rich just to keep buying another bike in 3 years.thanks again for your revews, reviews, a merry Christmas
I ride a 2011 Versys 650 which has the same parallel twin motor as the z650 (some minor differences). This is not my first motorcycle, but I'd feel more than comfortable starting on the 650 platform as my first bike. I have friends who started on a ninja 400 and were looking for a bigger bike the next year. Test ride both bikes and see which suits you best. Best of luck.
Z650: better quality build. Better price. Good starter bike. MT-07: more horsepower. Better wheelies. Questionable as a starter bike as it will get you in trouble if you ask it to. Fun hooligan bike at less cost than a 900 or liter bike.

Do you think it’s ok for a first bike

Nice video sir. I’m more convinced to have it as my first bike. Good in city driiving as well.
For city MT07 is better choice because of the wider handlebar and ergonomics it feels so much lightweight especially in tight corners.
I was looking at motorcycles as I’m new and it’s funny I came across your channel I work at the mister car wash right bedside freedom power sports 😂

I want this bike for long rides across country. My body aches being hitched over on long trips right now. Getting this next season.

You're not the only one who's not a fan of the sound. I ride a Z400 and a friend of mine said to me "how many lawns did you mow with that?"
I bought a few weeks ago the motorcycle version 2022. Good preview!
Greetings from Germany, we share all the same passion.
I love the green wheels
just bought a 22 z650 from that exact Freedom, super cool staff. Love the bike so far. great vid
So after 3 months of riding it how does it handle? Still strong and fun?
My old 07 ninja 650 hit 127. So that sounds pretty close to top speed. Kawi probably pushing it a few mph.
Lol the common knowledge part got me
What its you recommended?
Mt-07 or kawasaki z650?
Mt 07 hands down
Definitely a slept on bike, great video!
Tak tak tak
I just got a 2020 z650 yesterday. Do you think the break in period is need to be really strict?

The z900 is too much power for you.Forget the pride and get the 650.

Tomorrow I am getting the first try on this bike. I have big expectations :)
IS this bike boring compare to other bikes in the same class?
New cookies to b declared
Do you like the z650 or the mto7 more??
Do you like fun relaxing rides or do you like to wheelie a lot?
When you said (having an opinion is apparently illegal these days) I had to hit the subscribe!
Japanese people are working on mt-07 as we speak ryt now for 2024 ok so let’s go should we wait for it or just ignore
would you recommend a z650 or a ninja 650 as a first bike?
If you have any experience with dirt bikes or something of the sort then definitely. If not, it’s possible but be very careful as you learn the bike
I looking to buy a Kawasaki z650 or a Yamaha MT07 what do you think is better I’m moving from a 200cc. Thanks bro🤟🏻
mt-07 500% :)
@@theprofessionaldillweed6235 Thank you 🤙🏻
That's a no-brainer kid go with an MT 07 then again it's on your own preference

“Having an opinion is apparently illegal these days.” Well said.
Nice big bike kawasaki z650
Nice 'Kawisaki' right therrr
Nice bike ridesafe
U should ride the new Indian ftr
Rip inline 4 cylinders for the 600s
Nah, they’re just going to be dedicated track bikes, just like liter bikes.
Kawisaki?
Juicy sounds.. But
THROW A V8 IN THAT
Fking yeet it
The Vulcan 650s seems faster
So what? I don’t need to have the fastest bike.
The Vulcan and z650 have the same exact motor the Z is way faster cause it's lighter
Z650 is 60 pounds lighter, and has 7-10 more hp because the Vulcan s is tuned differently. Z650 also has like 2 more lbs of torque lol
@@jamesdarnell8568 yeah you do homie! If you ain't first you're last remember that bobby.
Common knowledge or Common sense?
Both lol
I'm starting to regret buying one of these today. lolz
Nah man, it’s a great bike just take her out for a day and you’ll love it
Sound crap ...CB 400 golden.
Lol I’m watching the video and I’m saying to myself this bike sounds weird and has no power then I realized I was watching a Z650 video and not a 900
Be a man ,buy an r1
That bike has no beans!
