Since we got Fallout in German after a long wait, we will probably have to wait a long time until the book comes onto the market here. Thank you for the great review. I hope you'll be fit again soon. As has already been said, grab a blanket, some warm tea and have a good rest.
The grab-bag approach of "put a little of everything, but never go into great detail" is something that seems to be a specialty of Modiphius. I complained about it on a DrivethruRPG review of some Star Trek Adventures modules--if you want a particular species, you've got to buy a pdf instead of a "big book of aliens from Next Generation", and one of the devs ended up taking it quite personally. But I said it then and I'll say it now, I don't like that if I want a complete set of character options, I have to get it in multiple books alongside a complete set of GM options in multiple books. Just let me JUST get a book of species, or JUST a book of monsters. My players don't need to have vehicle rules--I do as a GM (and they don't cut the mustard), and I don't necessarily need character creation rules as a GM. They're separate ways of approaching the game, so why do I need to get both when I need one? I do understand it--players outnumber GMs by a wide margin, so if you want GM content at all it needs to be alongside content that's more likely to SELL, but it's just annoying
I have to wonder if the perceived low-effort is because they are expending more effort in making other things they'll have more market power for later.
@@DoomSausage1 I find that solo play doesn't give me that "fix" I want for RPGs. The group dynamic and interaction was so important to the stories..... But I could perhaps try it.
Exodus RPG is still available. Don't know if you've been following the Fallout London project, including a little voice work by Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy.
I think I am going to grab the starter set and do a one shot. For pdfs which ones do you recommend? Is there overlap between the Core rules, GM Toolkit, and wanderers guide?
@@PostmortemVideo I replayed most of them a few years ago and changed my mind on it: FO2 used to be my favorite but its now FO1. FO1 had an elegance to is that older me appreciated.
I keep thinking that's geralt on the cover every time i see this book
I _know_ right?
Me too
Stats for Frank horrigan and the master is pretty cool
I'm with you, Im against using one rule set for everything. Now I'm off to convert Fallout to Savage Worlds 😜
hmmm having a Rift go to the Fallout world? I could see that honestly.
There are two savage fallout fan releases floating about.
@@fatearther1548 oooohhh, sounds fun.
This book finally completes the game by giving us vehicle rules, which now makes having the pilot skill worth having.
To be fair one could simply write up vehicle rules. In my campaign, find the parts and have skill points in repair and intelligence.
Thanks for the review, go have some hot ginger, honey and lemon.

Well I hope you been watching the WIP video series of Sunburst XD
... what a... *fascinating* piece of end music... seems rather dynamic and boppy, given...
I do wonder if they released the system like this because they weren't really given time to complete things

I love Fallout more than many things, but sadly will never get to play it. Keep looking after yourself Grim, you sound as rough as wholemeal toast
Why don’t you use mythic GME to play solo?

@@MercutioUK2006 what’s hard about solo play is you have to think like both the GM and the player.
@@DoomSausage1 I can...."probably" do that. Cheers for the ideas :)
Mutant Epoch is a must for me but Fallout comes in second place for post-apo rpg.
Great review.
😊 Thank you

Been deliberately avoiding it so as not to contaminate my own thoughts :)
Get well soon. 😊
A lot of white space in the book!

For a one shot I wouldn't much bother with the extras. I don't think there's overlap.
@@PostmortemVideo Lets day for an extended campaign. What extra books would your recommend?
I know you said the GM toolbox isn’t that useful
Core and this, probably.
Whats your favourite Fallout game?
Probably 2, though I do like the base building in 4.

Really didn’t like the 2d20 ruleset
