That is the shortest and yet most satisfying last story I think you've ever run. Mr. J simply had enough money to outlast the HOA and that was it. No finagling, no lawyer letters, no complex fighting. I love it.
PPE story: Well done for staying safe and a good job of CYA! Yeah, the BOSS was being lazy if he wasn't reading important emails. Work beggar story: OP, if this woman is actually causing your patients/residents to be upset due to her actions as well as causing problems for other members of staff, it's then past time to complain to management about her. Service call story: The way he was demanding his service be cancelled, I'd have gone ahead and cancelled him, after all, that's what the customer wants. Retention can always call him back with promises of a discount. HOA tree story: Off hand if the tree didn't survive the winter it was most likely not planted properly and/or at the wrong time of year. The HOA played a stupid game and now the bill has come due.
Just ignore the choosing begger, I remember when my grandmother was in hospice And over 3 years this one woman made it hell, she would take her cloths or stuff nasty diapers into the hamper, if I said no and such , she would demand I go pick up her order from chick fe li , even tried to snoop in my bag, when I caught her taking my phone and 3ds out of my bag along with the treats I brought for my grandmother I was done I started reporting when her cloths were missing or had adult diapers shoved in there, I even asked security to watch my bag while I visited , this B tried to sneak in security office to get to my bag ( I found out later that people ignored her and would leave there bags in the car ) she was fired and blacklisted after being caught stealing from a visitors purse
Person in the story should have reported the choosing beggar for disturbing the resident since that's a fast-track to the unemployment line in any similar industry that I know of.
Op should ask that annoying woman to buy HER something. Every time she sees her. Ask HER to spend HER money on something OP wants. That woman will avoid OP after a while.
There's a secret to dealing with bad management, unethical management, or crappy coworkers. It's the 3 D's, document, document, document! Get everything they're telling you in writing or a recording. Verbal orders don't count because the boss can always go "I didn't say that."
PPE Story: If I were OP, after the second unread reminder Email to Boss that I'm still waiting to receive my Arc Flash PPE, I'd continue to send one at the beginning of each shift but each Email after the second would also be CC'd to HR, the Safety Department and Bosses Boss... Somehow, I doubt I'd be waiting as long as OP did before getting the PPE... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Choosing Beggar Story: If I were OP, I'd be telling her NOT FUCKING HAPPENING SO STOP BEGGING ME FOR FAVOURS!!! and document all of it (her constantly begging for this, that or the other as well as her screaming in the parking lot which unsettled a Resident and report her to HR for Workplace Harassment and Inappropriate Workplace Behaviour...
For the 1st story, I thought you were going to end up at an ending totally impossible at industrial worksites. That is, ANYONE giving an "ignore the safety rules" order. That NEVER happens. INSTANT DISMISSAL for anyone who did that. When they say ZERO Tolerance, they mean ZERO tolerance. So, I was relieved that the story DIDN'T go in that impossible direction. People are CHARGED and JAILED for casualties caused by deliberately bypassing safety rules.
Mr. J didn't like someone else telling him what he could and couldn't do on HIS property. Bully for him. Something says that HOA should have cut their losses and left Mr. J alone.
The Arc Flash story. You can, according to OSHA, open a power switch at the machine or open the breaker feeding the machine without all the PPE. Mind you, if done at the machine there is still 'live' or energized conductors in the electrical cabinet. It looks like the company went above and beyond the regulated requirements, so they did this to themselves.
There was a story where the OP said he had his own safety procedure for a particular 3-phase machine, where he'd not just tag out the cut-off switch (which was all that was required) but also would bolt a large slab of metal across all three phases to short them out in case something went wrong while he was inside the machine, since he would have undoubtedly been crushed if it had moved while he was inside to repair it. Then the Idiot of the Area came along while OP was working on the machine and saw that the cut-out was turned off and, ignoring the lock-out, threw the switch to turn the machine back on. *Insert Large Explosion* All three high-amperage fuses blew, very loudly and forcefully, as the short-circuit went through the metal slab bolted across the phases. OP mentioned it was a military situation so Idiot couldn't "lose his job" as such, but he undoubtedly got the most epic rear-end-mastication in history.
Good morning RW and Laurie and all! Got my first sunburn yesterday, just mild! It was 79 degrees yesterday, just beautiful! Great stories this morning! Hope you all have a great day and I'll catch up with you later!
Good morning Loretta, Oh my goodness 😳 it's warmer there than here in San Diego County! 😆 I don't remember it being that warm this time of year in WA? 😂 I hope you have another 🌞 great day! Take care of your sunburn. 💜🤗✌️
Arc flash may not happen at 120v, but it can happen at 480v which is the minimum a machine at industrial level will run at. Presses and machines at that level usually run at 480v (at their main) or higher, depending on their capacity or usage.
Red wheel, your site is great. Other sites give a review of each detail of each story and their opinion/comments. Your way certainly is successful and gets subscribers and likes.

Op needs to report to HR about the boss's lack of priority when it comes to safety. And to have him go to all those OSHA classes too.
PEOPLE. "No" is a complete setnence.

Good for you getting her fired, and sorry for your loss. Never fun to loose a family member especially if close to them.

Yeah Op and the rest of the staff that work at that hospital need to report her to HR for harassment.
Op should ask that annoying woman to buy HER something. Every time she sees her. Ask HER to spend HER money on something OP wants. That woman will avoid OP after a while.
Reverse uno card on that hoa. Instead of them sueing you into the ground, that dude sued them into the ground

Happy hump day!
On a sidenote...Thar Be Dragons!… Have you ever read any of the Dragon Riders of Pern series? 🐉
I will never feel bad for people who support choosing beggars. You can just say "no," but you choose not too and that's on you.
In that middle story, we call them MOOCHacha ( from: muchacha)

Good morning everyone and RedWheel 😊

but if the Safety Director dictates it, it is the first, last, and final word.

That last story was hilarious, sweet & to the point. It's always nice to see HOAs get what's coming to them
Love that Mr. J used his FU money so say FU to the HOA.
So the last story was kind of an uno reverse tree law story where the tree owner took out all the trees and it made the HOA go broke...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
About Cigarettes. John D. Rockefeller was so anti cigarette he told someone that if they "can afford cigarettes they don't need a job."

They're lucky they weren't sued by the homeowners for spending all of their money in a frivolous law suit

Sounds like the NA worked with a begging chooser
Arc flash is nothing to mess with. Good news is it doesnt happen at 120v.
