"Better Days Ahead" is not only a favorite song of mine from one of my favorite Metheny Group records, but it's also a fitting title for what I'm envisioning for all of us this year...that things will get better! Love that this is a your unique take on Metheny's great composition (including the September Fifteenth reference). Lots of players do a really good job of copying Metheny, but few actually put something of themselves into their arrangement and performance to make it their own. So good I need to listen to it again right now. Well done Gabriel!

Digging this again. SO good. At the end it occurred to me that recording this same arrangement with minimal percussion - like bongo drums or just one hand drum of some sort - would allow the guitar parts to still be fully heard and appreciated but also propel the arrangement a little further forward with a bit of groove interplay and player interaction. But as it is, Dang! Good stuff.

Beautiful stuff Gab. Are you at all thinking about issuing prerecorded lessons of this and maybe minuano with TABS. I for one would be a customer. It would take a long time but time well spent.
Yeah I'm thinking about something like that. Planning on releasing a course with selected guitar solo versions of some of these songs I've been posting here, with All TABS and notation, and this one is definitely going to be there for sure. I'm open to suggestions. best GS

Minuano is one (if not ) my favorite Metheny/Mays songs and though I'm not nearly as talented as you, I would enjoy "chewing" on that material for a long time. On the tutorials, any and all theory on those songs you include would be helpful. Lastly, Happy New Year. Be safe and I'm looking forward to more of your post.

er. i mean, this is amazing, but c'mon. who wrote this song??? edit, well after listening to the whole thing i gotta say dude does not waste a single note. as much as i love pat, he wastes lots of notes, well, mostly during solos, not the compositions. so i might be agreeing with you, in spite of myself.
