It's been cold and freezing here the last few days-we're in the midst of winter, making it the perfect time to release a cozy winter indie folk playlist inspired by the current weather! This is our second winter playlist of the season, and we’re really hoping it warms you up! *Tracklist:* 0:00 Lucy Clearwater & Lemony Rug - All These Words: This song is about the power and impact of words, their true meaning and the loss of this meaning when they are used in an inflationary way. What happens when we throw words around like empty phrases? Do these empty phrases still have any meaning at all? 3:31 Brook St - Crystal Palace Park This song is about our first time playing shows in Europe. Being from Australia there isn’t any old buildings and so when we arrived we were constantly in awe of the history everywhere we went. Being in a van, beautiful vistas and special memories! 6:47 Lost Mary - Pere Lachaise This song is about the well known cemetery in Paris, France called Pere Lachaise where many famous people have been buried, such as Jim Morrison and Chopin. 8:58 Old Sea Brigade, Albin Lee Meldau - Away It Goes Winter Chill: ruclips.net/video/Jv81IInGXuE/видео.html 12:34 Sianon & This New Light - grocery store This song is about the feeling of being in your 20s when friends are at different life stages-some with houses or families, others still figuring things out. It's about breaking free from comparison & finding joy in small, everyday moments, trusting the path you’re on. 15:25 The National Forest - On My Way Home This song is about longing, connection, and the journey back to a place-or a person-that feels like home. It is also playing with idea of home potentially being a biblical heaven. 18:15 Laura Lucas - The Dreamer One thing I have been working on is to be less hard on myself and to not punish myself for my sensitivity. I am learning to see sensitivity as a superpower, as it’s the very thing that allows me to be a songwriter in the first place. 21:25 Hayden Arp - To Be Lost, To Be Found This song is about an experience I had meeting someone on a night out in Vienna. We connected very deeply, very quickly. It felt both disorienting and grounding, as new love is. Thus the lyric: to be lost and to be found in your arms. 23:36 Brophy - Follow Moss This song is about finding the person who you trust, your soulmate, who is there to comfort and guide you when you feel lost. 27:38 Rod Coote - Afterlife This song is about the fleeting nature of life & exploration of spirituality. 30:40 Dusty Boots & Ally Palmer - Let The River This song is about the places in nature that slow us down, give us perspective if we listen and allow us a sense of freedom in the moment. It was written about one of our favourite rivers in the Northern Rivers region in Australia. 35:07 Jon Bryant - would you call me up? This song is about communication. It starts off about that moment when you realize that the person you cared about is something more than a casual connection...As it moves through verses it exposes the phases and ever-changing intensity that we go through in relationships. Sometimes that person is all you can think about...and other times you need the space to grow on your own. 39:15 Noah Malcolm - Cereal This song is about the nostalgia of first love. A warm fuzzy feeling of gratitude for having experienced a special connection, though imperfect at times. 42:32 Child - Stories This song is about the loss of a loved one and their life story. It's addressing the contrast between a world that is still spinning and one that has come to an end. 46:23 Noa Margalit - Gone Gone Gone This song is about finding a new love that feels like home, and the relief to find rest in them, feeling at peace and safe. Home is a person. 50:36 Nova Soon - Cosmos In December This song is about the real reasons to love winter (which gross festive capitalism can often obscure): appreciating warmth, light, and chosen family when our big cold cosmos turns extra cold. 54:48 Skout - What If Wanting's Not Enough This song is about the doubts, second-guessing, and prolonged ambiguity that permeate relationships nearing their end 58:18 The January Lanterns - Howl At The Sun This song is about bursting out into fresh air after a long and dark hibernation. Digging deep and finding who you truly are, at your core, connects you to yourself, others, nature - even the sun calls back when you open your arms wide in acceptance. 1:02:01 Plàsi - Salamina (Acoustic Version) There are places in the world that are showing the way without being aware of it themselves. Salamina is a rural island just outside of Athens, where life changes in a second from the cosmopolitan capital next door. With a relatively rough but honest expression it tells us a lot about life and its natural beauty. It tells us that happiness doesn’t have to come from perfection, but also from honesty. It tells us about everyday life, and how being able to enjoy the small moments without too big expectations matters. 1:04:56 Jonny Morgan & Fran Lusty - Safe Space This song is a hopeful song that focuses on appreciating what you have/the safety of your own four walls both literally and metaphorically. 1:08:48 Trinity Mei - bed bugs This song is about being in love and narrates how two people can find everlasting beauty in the most mundane moments. 1:12:29 Matt Van - somewhere, nowhere This song is about feeling lost. It's brief. It's vague. It doesn't arrive anywhere. But still it captures a certain melancholic beauty that I hope listeners can relate to. 1:13:36 tinyumbrellas - 00:30 00:30 (half past midnight) is my first ever love song, written in the early stages of a new relationship. 1:15:15 RHAYN & Simon Lewis - Home This song is about going back home to heal. 1:18:43 Silayne & Levi Tales - A Call Away The song is about friendship and when someone reinforces your sense of safety, offers unconditional support and emotional refuge, even when feeling overwhelmed by unspoken thoughts. #winter #indiefolk
This winter season, I worked on releasing a Winter Indie Folk compilation with 50 tracks. But during the process, I realized more and more that half of the songs had a cozy, easygoing, and romantic feel, while the other half leaned more toward a chill and moody vibe. So, I decided to split them into two compilations. Last week, the Chill & Moody edition was released ruclips.net/video/Jv81IInGXuE/видео.html and now it's time for the Cozy one to be out there. Which of the two is your favorite?
Hey Mark! The @indiefolkcentral page is going through some heavy weather indeed, the issue has been recognized by RUclips Support, they actually also mentioned a couple of times that they found what is causing it, but they have not been able to fix the issue unfortunately. Meaning, when we publish videos on that channel, it hardly reaches the IFC community. That's why this new page was created. I will continue with releasing the New Indie Folk videos on the 'old' page though, and still working on getting the channel fixed/saved. But yup, I'll be a bit more focused on this new channel, simply because the videos stand a bigger chance of reaching people! The February video should be out on the @indiefolkcentral page soon :) Little late with that one, but it's coming!

Sorry I’m a little late
Hey, but when you show up if your friend really missed you, time is irrelevant and you’ll pick up exactly where you left off.❤😊
Does the use of this new username mean that your other username will no longer be adding playlists?
