Probably the most humane psychotherapy ever created. It's in everything nowadays but rarely acknowledged.
Thank you for putting all four parts of this lecture up on RUclips. I understand empathy so much more hearing about what it IS from this talk.
Rogers had great insight. I find parallels with what he's saying and eastern spiritual teachings of being the Consciousness observing in non-judgment, or the modern idea of Christ consciousness.
That knowledge is as old as is mankind. Rogers tried to lift knowledge from religions into science. Since contents from the sphere of religion are regarded to be "unscientific" in circles of science and the society that follows it. Inside a society that follows values of "scientificness" there is few acceptance of such contents on one side and - on the other side - few knowledge again how to find out what is knowledge and what is just fooling. Thus we do not know the difference between mysticism and esotericism. Which his therapy is not for sure.
