Greg, you may be the best marketer I’ve ever watched!! The way you keep elevating the TC rifles and making us salivate for a new one even before production is awesome! Keep the videos coming….but get the products to us quickly. 😊
Look at Idaho Lewis here on RUclips he shoots 500yds with a Renegade and a Hawken....TC makes the best Muzzleloaders for sure. Cant wait till youre up and running again
Grew up reading stories in all the gun and hunting magazines about T/C and all the great writers hunting adventures with them. Some where the firearm industry changed. Just wanted to say thanks for bringing back great memories and T/C.
So glad to see T/C coming back out. I'm still rocking an old Omega with the fluted stainless barrel and the black synthetic thumb hole stock that I purchased new in '05. She has been a great gun and has put a lot of deer on the ground as I used it as my primary firearm over a slug gun when I lived in IN. Unfortunately, I believe she's showing her age now. She used to be easily M.O.A. with nearly every bullet over 100gr charge. It never shot well with the 150gr charge. Now, she will hold about 2 M.O.A. with very specific loads. This isn't a huge issue to me as most of my shots are well within 100 yards where bullet performance matters much more than precision accuracy. But, I just hate seeing my kids' CVA outshoot that old T/C😅
Very pleased that you are bringing back TC! I hope you consider some Contender support. Super 16 barrel and the rifle stock and forend make a great addition to the pistol. Love my 14 inch 7mm TCU!
I did not catch what you were using for powder ? When TC came out with the Black Diamond I bought one in .50 cal, this has been a great rifle and still is. With a 40mm mil dot scope, TC Shockwave 240 grain bullets, I can shoot a 3" group @ 200 yds, w/ 90 gr. of T-7 /2F. Even though my hunting days are done my shooting hasn't stopped, developing new loads is my enjoyment now, still trying to get the grand kids into it. Thanks for the videos, love them and my TC muzzle loaders.
@@timetraveler1670 blackhorn 209 has a blue label.. that jug had a red label.. the writing is too fuzzy to accurately read it.. it almost resembles the schuetzen label but it's definitely different...
I shoot that same ELD-X from my 1999 manufactured Encore 209x50 with 85 grains by weight of 2F Triple 7 (because BH 209 is stupid expensive) at 1738 FPS and with my Leupold 4.5-14x40mm CDS I have taken one white tail buck at 326 yards on my longest shot six doe and bucks between 80 and 244 yards and a dozen hogs out to 253 yards. That old Encore will put 3 shots touching at 100 yards. Very impressive combination. Just watch shooting through a conventional chronograph as that base on the bullet took out my chrono 10’ in front of the muzzle… it comes off very fast.
I just happened upon your channel today and have been binging on your videos. You are a great ambassador for your company! Your passion for the guns is obvious. Also, my dad is going to very happy when I tell him T/C is back in business. He LOVES the centerfire Encore rifles.
I purchased the Thompson Center Encore Pro Hunter several years ago just prior to me drawing out for a hunt in New Mexico. I topped it off with a Nikon black powder scope with the BDC reticle. Sighting in the Encore was a breeze and was dead on at 100 yards. Knowing I might get a shot longer than 100 yards, I set up a target at the 200 yard line . Now I have never had much faith or success in shooting a black powder rifle longer than 100 yards. So I hoping I would at least be in the vital area at 200 yards. I had my target on a large piece of unblemished cardboard and a new target. I settled in on the target from the shooting bench and mustered what I had learned in the Marine Corps and gently squeezed the trigger. Once the smoke cleared, I didn’t see any indication that I hit the target nor the cardboard, my heart sank! I felt good about the shot but… A friend that drew out with me for our hunt in Mexico, and I walked down to the 200 yard line to check my target. At about 10 yards away I was puzzled as to why I may have missed. Once at the target my eyes must have been as round as a 55 gallon drum! There, perfectly centered on the X was a .50 cal hole!! I couldn’t have hole punched it better!! Never let anyone tell you a TC Encore can’t shoot with the best of them because in my experience, it absolutely is the best of the best! BTW I was shooting a 200 grain TC bullet.
Love that tc is coming back. Just recently picked up a tradition’s outfitter g3 in 35 rem great rifle. I would love to see tc produce a single shot that could compete price wise with cva and traditions.
@janetholdread TC was sold as part of the breakup of Remington (I think that's right), and they haven't made guns in about 2 years now.. but this suggests they are planning on going back into production...
Greg I hope you release muzzle loaders soon. I’m letting my friend use my tc encore muzzle loader to hunt deer. He wants to buy one but there is nothing to buy. Please get your products back on the market.
Im sure ready to upgrade my speed breech 50 cal. I dont have the specific wrench and its almost impossible to remove my breech plug . It shoots sub moa groups out to 150 with barnes 250s and 110 bh209 however. Great video. Thanks for bringing back tc Cant wait for availability
Would love to see this combination in a .40 caliber long range t/c to compete with cva paramount. 340 grain bullet is a shoulder smackedr. Don’t get me wrong my triumph has been great and I have killed 20 bucks with 250 gr shockwave. I really need a long range muzzloader for when I draw a limited entry tag. I will keep posting this until I see t/c make a better long rang gun or draw a limited entry tag and buy another brand..which I prefer not to do. Also need a quality peep sight, no more fiber optic that is the same size as a deer at 100 yds or a 1x quality scope for utahs restrictions.
Did I miss something ? Would like to know the caliber? I'm guessing .50. Brand of powder, & grains by weight . Also the primer. & Thanks for information on Hornady , ELDX Bore driver.
My omega shoots 2.5” groups at 300 yards pretty consistently but at at 350 yards is opens up to 12” on center pretty consistently with 300 grain TC original shockwaves and 150 grains of 777 pellets.
Love your videos...have numerous TC rifles and a Scout 50 cal pistol. Needing a rear sight for the Scout pistol when you are able to sell product again.
@ Performance wise you may be right but I've never had anything clean up the way Blackhorn does. 6 or 8 shots between cleanings and one or two runs with a dry swab and your barrel is clean. I'd love to do some testing with the two and see how they perform side by side.
My Rem 700 UML is accurate out to 500 yards. BH209, H340ELDX and a LRM primer. My ML is a sub 1/2 MOA gun at 100 yards. I only needed 25 MOA with my gun & load to get to 500. 😁 I hope the Encore is available again soon.
I’ve read where one elk hunter has said with the proper constructed bullet for elk , minimum of 1800 pounds of energy on target @300 yards and beyond is required for clean kills ! He is an older gentleman who is a gunsmith / custom rifles and has hunted big game all his life! It made me give hunting some more thought !
Let’s hope they release a muzzleloader with a decent trigger. Was so disappointed buying the tc fx and having a heavy 6 pound trigger pull for the cost of the gun. I bought a cva Accura. Bergarra barrel and adjustable trigger out of the box.
If you make this new line of rifles sub moa and interchangeable barrels you will succeed! A carbon ultra light single shot for the mountains would be a game changer as well! Been waiting for this for years!
Would have enjoyed it more if I knew what Powder and Primers were uses and what was done as far as cleaning between shots, what there just a brushing? Was powder soluvent used? Was there dry patches?
So, will the TC stock twist rate stabilize the new high BC bullets? What elevation are you shooting at? I shoot the 250gr shockwaves out to 300 yards very accurately, but I would love to get something with a higher BC.
hey i didnt read throught all the comments so idk if this ? was asked but i have a tradition and have had for couple years and need to upgrade and heard good things about the TC. so watching the video didnt see you clean the gun, didnt know if that was for time sake or what? so how many times do you shoot before you clean barrel or start to see a drift in the bullet, also is there an advantage to shooting loose powder compared to the pellets. ive just used the pellets and can only get max 2-3 shots before i start to see a bullet drift
Curious how many grains of 209 you are using? I recently took a moose with the 340G ELD over 110G of BH. I chronyed it at 2100 FPS about 15' from the muzzle. Sighted in about 2.5" high at 100 and ended up 4" low at 200 yards. Shooting a TC bone crusher.
Ive shot muzzleloaders to 500yds personally and i can def say its not easy. A 3-5mph wind change can move your bullet 5" or better depending on caliber
I bought an Encore muzzle loader in 45 caliber when they first came out. Do you have any recommendations for long range bullets? I’m NOT giving up my 45!!! One more question. You do a trigger job on your rifle? Absofreakinglutely great shooting!
You can actually get that accurate with a flintlock if you experiment with all of the components. Different balls, powder, both grain and size, flints and patches. My TC Hawken was able to cut bullet holes at 60 yards. It takes a while but once you fine tune the rifle, you will be satisfied.
Used for 13 yrs. W other barrels as well. Def the only tool needed . One n done. The lightest sabot ive found is extremely acurate at 120 gr. Im happy💯🔥🫡Thank You

@raytribble8075 one of best ever the sensation. My cousin won alot of muzzle loader shoots with his senca 36 cal.

Waiting to see these new firearms in the shops & stores. Thank for the video.
