    Absolutely fascinating, seeing how each piece is semi-mechanically formed, and then hand-painted. However, I do wish you would show how the initial designs are transferred to each piece. Are the pieces fired before or after the designs are applied? [The designs are obviously too uniform not to be transfers.] It looks to me like some pieces - especially those large platters - go through several firings before completion? For example, the green bowls - judging from the absorbancy of the clay, the decoration could be applied even before an initial firing. I would love a LOT more detail in this video, but thank you for what you have shown. BTW, those kilns are awesome!

      Some look like transfers, like the green peonies, but others, like the one being filled with the orange-brown color looks handpainted to me. But I agree, it would be cool to see that part as well ^_^

      Brushes are traditional ceramic brush for production pottery. Holds lots of material but still allows detailed work.

    Truly beautiful work and workmanship. But. I didn't see any young people working there. In 20-30 years it will all be gone, as the young would rather play games than learn how to be craftsman. Hundreds of years of skill down the drain.

    남의 나라(조선) 침략해서 도자기공들 납치해가서 만들었는데 잘해야지 일본이 아주 오래전부터 우리나라 도자기 탐내온건 유명한 이야기지

    조선인 도공의 후예들도 있다고 들었습니다. 다만 후쿠시마 폭발로 이제는 일본 전역이 피폭되었기에 일본 그릇 사는 건 위험하지요. 흙도 안전하지 않으니.
