one of my go to blurays is the mad max fury road in 4k. it looks and sounds incredible. the entire first 30 minutes are nothing short of a high adrenaline rush that sounds amazing and look just as good!
Good choices. I remember the lobby shoot-out scene of "The Matrix" used to over-heat receivers if the 5.1 system did not have self-powered subwoofers. We had to tell a lot of people to turn down the sub for this movie.
The opening from Quantum of Solace has a car chase scene that will make your home theater salivate. Aston Martin vs Alfa Romero with plenty of gunfire and car crashes. Its one of my go-to demos for sure.
I was showing my brother inlaw my 5.2.4 system using Mad Max Fury Road. He was blown away. That movie gives your subs a workout with all the big engine sounds. Great one to really flex the system.
10 Cloverfield lane - 1:30:00 is a cool use of atmos. I cant remember if it uses atmos elsewhere. Encanto -dinner scene Netflix is also putting out good atmos. Black Crab has a ton of atmos. I have a ton of 4ks with atmos i need to watch. I also hate how atmos is barely used in movies. When you have full-range atmos speakers, you kind of hope for more than the common atmospheric stuff Thanks for the heads up on Edge of Tomorrow (and someone in the comments metioned django) as a movie for subwoofer damaging potential. I had no idea until i heard about it in another youtube channel. Too bad because these are 2 of my fav movies
The Matrix was my first 4K disc. I picked it up because it's one of my all time favorites but man oh man it's GREAT in 4K! Still looks like film but the colors and detail are so sweet, and the sound rocks too.
I dont know the time stamp, but in Steven Spielberg 's Super 8, which is a awesome Sci Fi movie, there is a train crash scene that shakes the house. And overall it's a great movie. Enjoyed the review, keep up the good work.
My go to’s: Interstellar (landing on planet, blackhole scene) Blade Runner 2049 (opening is crazy) Start Trek Into Darkness Oblivion (drones attack) Ip Man 2 Spiderman Into The Spiderverse
Nice list, a bit different than the norm but in a good way. Ford v Ferrari is definitely one of my favorites for testing and showing off my system. It's also just a great movie that I can rewatch frequently. Out of the more recent releases, the intro to a Quiet Place Part 2 is freaking insane. Give that a go if you haven't already. Also, Shawshank Redemption looks absolutely incredible and Green Knight is demo worthy as well.
Another great video. I agree with a lot of your choices. A couple of ones I like to use are La La Land, Blade Runner 2049, Mission Impossible 5, and a old classic Jurassic Park. Keep up the great work, Ive been a fan of the channel for a few years now!
these are my regular demo clips 👇 1) opening of Revenge of the Sith 2) Podrace in The Phantom Menace 3) Tumbler chase sequence in Batman Begins 4) D-Day landing in Saving Private Ryan 5) Obi-Wan Kenobi asteroid chase in Attack of the Clones 6) Shockwave sequence in Transformers: Dark of the Moon 7) Pearl Harbor bombing in Pearl Harbor 8) Superman's first flight in Man of Steel 9) Vengeance chasing Enterprise in warpspeed in Star Trek Into Darkness 10) Bruce Wayne doing bullet forensics in The Dark Knight
Both A Quiet Place releases are insane, if you haven't checked those out, it a must see!!! I definitely need to check out Live Die Repeat. Waiting for a 4K release on that one.
Great List 👍 and ty ty 🙏 for the time stamps. My co worker coming over tonight, my chance to show off 😊. Honorable mention.... Master and Commander, I think about 10 mins in when the French attack the Brits and those cannon balls ripping through the hull of the ship. Fantastic surround sound and some Heavy subwoofer explosions.
big fan of your channel, and really enjoyed this demo disk vid... looking forward to checking out some of these. If i could add/offer a demo disk it would be "house of flying daggers" the drum scene is amazing on my 5.2 setup
Cool list. Didn’t expect Jaws lol. I’d say some of my demo-worthy discs are: Ready Player One Saving Private Ryan The Dark Knight Evil Dead (2013) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The A-Team (2010) King Kong (2005) Interstellar I don’t think a lot of them have Atmos, but honestly I don’t even care lol they sound and look great
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist I haven't seen Jaws in 4k, but do remember being pretty impressed with the blu ray, especially given the age. Makes me want to watch it again
Great video Cody! I really like to use the opening scene of The Matrix Reloaded. Blade Runner 2049 opening scene 2:04 this will show off the dynamic power of your system REAL good! The good ole Brontosaurus Stampede scene in King Kong 2005 on 4K disc DTS:X is a good one too.
Thanks for watching! Someone else mentioned Blade Runner 2049 I need to pick that up! I’d forgotten about King Kong 2005, it’s been a long time since I saw that!
I'm not into big Boombastic sounds... I prefer the subtlety of the low frequencies plus it always helps if it's a great movie as well. My two psychological Horrors for low frequencies effects... THE RITUAL (2017) MIDSUMMER (2019)
Now since I have decent SVS subwoofers, I don’t have to worry about heavy bass movies like Edge of Tomorrow. The Matrix’s lobby scene has been one of my top demo scenes to play on systems.
I just got a £13.99 refund from Netflix for my so-called 4K plan nevermind the compression but the pixelation on the actors faces was just awful and I was running at 112 mbps, plus it was 12:30 at night therefore by my calculations there is absolutely no excuse from Netflix! Physical Media rules and this is coming from person who haven't got a Blu-ray player 😅
Good list! I agree with your selections. I recently upgraded my system to support 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and have been regularly re-acquainting myself with my physical disc Library. My list would include the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001:A Space Odyssey”. It looks amazing for a 53 year-old movie! Part 3:’Jupiter and beyond the infinite’ is a good demonstration of the audio and video elements of your system. As a newer film, Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” has an opening in the Ukrainian Symphony House that is intense in the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. In the none sci-fi genre, Alfred Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest” is very visually pleasing for a 62 year-old movie on Blu-ray. I echo the comments for the drum-scene in Yimou Zhang’s “House of the Flying Daggers” in Blu-ray. It is an audio tour-de-force. And, lastly, DreamWorks Animation’s “Rise of the Guardians” has the most lifelike animation I’ve seen in the Blu-ray format. As an honorable mention, I would add the ‘Moscow evening bridge shootout’ in Brad Bird’s “Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol” in Blu-ray format. It will give your speakers a workout, including the Surrounds. Really like what you’re doing and enjoy watching your videos!
Hey Cody, that's a great idea on how to get the in laws to leave !!!! Get the most violent flick and demo it. Especially if thats what they're not into. !!!!! You are my hero. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦👍👍👍🍻🍻

Life of Pi (ship sinking sequence) is another good demo, especially in 3D. The DTS Master Audio is also fantastic.
Thanks

Good list. I'd also add Deepwater Horizon, Godzilla King of the Monsters, The Haunting, and The Day After Tomorrow....
Thoughtful and insightful list, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
My go to’s are; The Pacific Rim movies and Blade Runner 2049 are great for visuals…Fury, any recent Godzilla movie and Live Die Repeat for audio.
Pacific Rim! I’d forgotten about them! 😁
The first Godzilla chapter 8 the bridge scene with the Mutos, quiet moment with big bass.
Mad max fury road and midway are my go 2 demo disk i love em

That's a great scene!
Best Atmos scene that just recently blew my mind: Midnight Mass on Netflix - Episode 5 ,Minute 50. AWESOME.
Also the opening of Mad Max Fury Road (Atmos) is just a "hit" in your face.
I just got a £13.99 refund from Netflix for my so-called 4K plan nevermind the compression but the pixelation on the actors faces was just awful and I was running at 112 mbps, plus it was 12:30 at night therefore by my calculations there is absolutely no excuse from Netflix! I have to give a shout out for the Lord of the Rings in 4k. Looks amazing and the audio in the big battle scenes are gold.
👍🏾

Edge of Tomorrow will be released in 4K UHD on July 5, 2022. 👍
I saw that. I haven't decided if I'm going to pick it up yet but hopefully it will look and sound great.
Jurasic park was the old stand by for me. Don't know if it is in 4k yet
It is a good one and it is in 4K! I talk about it here: ruclips.net/video/CIEeY47Tgv4/видео.html
I have a Blu-ray of Gravity with Atmos soundtrack I believe it’s the diamond deluxe edition.
Nice!
Opening scene of Kong skull Island really showcases Atmos
Kong was on my list and may make the next list. It’s a really good demo disc
Oblivion uhd 😮😍
Hmmm that is a good one! I don't own it but I have seen it.
Despite not having the Best image House of flying daggers Is still very impressive
Someone else mentioned this movie, I need to check it out.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist oh yeah, by all means watch It, it happens to be a great movie. And if you like It also check out Hero
Brightburn & Ninjas Turtles (Michael bay)
Thanks for watching!
