The movie has actually got a lot of layers to it and is quite good. It has what the trailer shows but it also has a lot more which the trailer does not show.

"Why's that so bad?" I dunno crazy chick, because no one says "They're crazy about you" when it's a friend thing, even your BFF since birth!
I usually roll my eyes when guys talk about the friend zone, but in this case, I see where it's coming from. Unlike most people, this guy was straight up about his feelings, and yet was still rejected. So yeah, I get why the "let's just be friends" thing would be hurtful and infuriating. This is, however, different than the brand of males who only behave in "nice" ways (as if being nice is the most impressive thing in the world) with girls, expecting that to involuntarily lead to sex, and then subsequently whine about being friendzoned. Look, girls aren't stupid. It's easy to see through people's bullshit. If you have unvoiced or deceptive intentions in the first place, and if all you see women as are sex goals and not companions without even being able to tell them as much, then yeah, you're gonna be used and "friendzoned" a lot, and quite frankly, you deserve it.

Honestly the best friend character makes me so mad in this movie. While i as a woman have "friendzoned" guys before i did it because i honestly wasn't sexually or romantically attracted to them at all. The way she seems confused about him being upset about the friendzone suggests that she didn't friendzone him because she was scared to ruin what they had (which would have been understandable and forgiveable) but because she wanted to have the alternative of finding someone better but she still wanted to string him along in case nothing worked out/no opportunity presented itself and that's why she got so upset about him seemingly moving on.
I'm not saying don't friendzone but if you do do it because there's genuinely nothing there that could be built upon not just because you want to have a plan b.
