I’ve been watching you for a couple of months. During quarantine, I’ve been watching you so much. It makes me forget what’s going on in the outside world. Now during vlogmas, it makes me even more excited to watch you!
For me the one good thing happened in 2020 is that I became a reader 🥺and got to know the beauty of books and their wonderful worlds Thank you for that❤️
My mom and I buddy read The Fountains of Silence a month ago. We loved it! Such a good story and also opened our minds to Spain’s history that we never really knew about. I would love to read Lovely War! Sounds fantastic!
This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I love how visually appealing your bookshelf is with books being grouped by colors. I also love all the plushies and other decorations you have on them. The dachshund in the sweater is adorable
I totally agree with the Wolf by Wolf duology!! I read this after reading one of your videos recommendation and LOVED it!! It surprised me so much and it was just such a unique concept!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Gosh, I'm currently reading the Fountains of Silence and now, knowing that this novel made its way to your top 12 favorite books of 2020 , I know that I'm going to end my 2020 with a great read 😍 Thanks so much for this video, Hailey 😘
Libba Bray came to my high school in 2013 right after The Diviner’s came out! I still haven’t read it (despite her signing my book), & I’ve always wanted to but the way you talked about the last book makes want to read every book in the Diviner’s series ❤️
So many books you mentioned are ones I’ve purchased during the year and have yet to read. I surprisingly did not read as much as I thought I would considering that I had so much time with lockdown. I should be finishing the Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell tonight but I would have to say it is ones of my favourites. The premise is practically made for me, time travel, magic and historical fiction.
My favourite book of the year was Ties That Tether which you recommended, I believe :) I'm currently reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and loving it!
I read Wolf by wolf Duology because of your recommendations. I am not a huge historical fiction fan but it was SO good. I even got my husband to read them with me and he liked them a lot as well!
YAY :) thank you so much for your daily videos. This makes me so happy and I'm so grateful for your effort. Two of my favourite books this year is definetly Hideous Beauty and Toffee.
Loved this! 🥰 Also, you mentioning trying to remember your favorite book from last year, made me think that may be a great video idea. Your #1 book of each year over the years! Keep shining bright Hailey!
Hi Hailey, You are such an inspiration for me whenever I watch your videos I would always get the motivation to read a lot of books. I absolutely love your videos:)
saved a couple of titles from your list! I sadly haven't read much last year (it's already 2021!) due to school/work but now I've got a bit of a break before I officially start work so going to go on a 2 month long readathon haha. Wolf by wolf sounds amazing, adding it to my list.
This has been by far the best reading year for me as I have blown past my normal amount of books. so far my favorites are The Hating Game; Ninth House; Lock Every Door; Red, White & Royal Blue.
Oh as soon as you were going to announce your favorite book of the year I already knew it was lovely war wooow! I started it but have not finished it yet!! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things.
OHHHH I totally called it!! I was like obviously The Lovely War is your fav. because of how many videos you gushes about it this year! My Favourite book was either The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or Six of Crows!
My fav book of this year so far is The Book Thief and I‘m 99% sure that nothing I will read in December is gonna beat it. Literally the whole way through I was thinking: „This is an all time fav.“ and I hardly ever have that with a book 🥰
Lovely War is my guess for your number one, let’s see if I get it right! You mentioned it so many times I ended up getting it and I am looking forward to read it!
My guess is your #1 is Wolf by Wolf. I can’t choose my top book bc ya know but some of my favs where Goddess in the Machine, All the Stars and Teeth, the entire Green Creek series, The Unsuitable Heir, and Reverie.
@@neelaghm3585 I hope you enjoy it. I was so nervous going into it because I knew how people thought it was amazing and I really didn’t want to be disappointed but OMG, it’s even better than people say it is. And that’s a lot.

I have just finished reading One Day in December. Absolutely loved it! Thank you for recommending it, I wouldn’t have experienced this joy without your help!😍🥰
I found out about Wolf by Wolf from your channel and it's literally my favorites of 2020 SO THANK YOU!!!! I love both books so much and can't wait to reread it!!
You are the reason I snatched up Blood for Blood when I saw it at my local bookstore so. Dying to find Wolf by Wolf and The Lovely War as well. I love how your sweater matched the cover of Lovely War too. 😁
I know it isn’t most people’s cup of tea (or culture), plus it came out in the mid 90’s, but my favorite book of this year is Kaddish by Leon Wieseltier. It is such an informative journey of an essay, I have more Rabbi’s, Scholars, Teachers etc than vocab words, and I have learned so much. Absolutely a book I would recommend.
I feel like I’ve heard Hailey talk about wolf by wolf a few times so it’s always been in the back of my mind... but this time, I’m sold! Next on the TBR for sure, sounds so interesting🤓
You have to read Out of the easy, too ❤ I really enjoyed it, even though it's pretty different from the rest of Ruta's books. I really love her writing
New to BookTube and recognized you from BookStagram! Thank you for the recommendations! I can't wait to check out more of your videos! I'm currently trying to update my 2021 TBR and I am looking for some completed YA series to add to my list! I watched 2 of your past videos before ending up here but I got some interesting recommendations from this list!
And i read Felix Ever After and really liked it! I also recently acquired Cemetery Boys and I'ma try to read it before 2021, but like I'm rereading the Ember in the Ashes series so I'm all caught up for the finale so we shall seee😛

Amazing list! I cannot wait to read these books, especially all of the historical fictions! You have definitely sold me on The Fountains of Silence, Lovely War, and Wolf by Wolf! Currently my favorite read of the year is the entire Renegades trilogy by Marissa Meyer with The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo as a close second! Other favorites this year for me are The Underground Railroad, All the Light We Cannot See, The Raven Cycle, Just Mercy, Daughter of Smoke and Bone & Days of Blood and Starlight, Americanah, The Astonishing Color of After, and This Savage Song & Our Dark Duet!
I definitely thought Wolf by Wolf was going to be your top read! I'm so glad you included House of Salt & Sorrow. I read it because of you shortly after you read it and I absolutely loved it!

I think Hailey's favorite book of the year would be Lovely war or Blood for Blood, mainly Lovely war but those are the two books that properly would be at #1 on her list.
I started Lovely War earlier in the year and DNF it. It had nothing to do with the book and everything to do with the erratic way I start 10 books at once. I'll definitely have to make sure to give it another go soon.
It’s so hard to say which book was my favorite this year b/c I had so many good reads. But my top 3 would be: One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak. But there were so many other books I enjoyed. For example The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. And of course the HP series I’m gonna finally finish these days.
I meant to read Beach Read this year, and I still want to but now the weather is cold and it might not be the same. 😅 I’ll probably read it next summer.
My favourite book of the year was The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I think it would be in my top 5 books of all time, actually. The story was so unique and perfectly crafted, the characters we well developed, and the writing as a whole was so beautiful.
Yay, I love your Favourites videos!! My favourite book I read this year was "The Pianist" by Wladyslaw Szpilman. I wasn't planning on finishing it in one sitting, but I just couldn't put it down. And I think everyone would benefit from reading it. The movie is also one of my favorites now.
My favorites of the year (I have a tie) are A Heart So Fierce and Broken, the sequel to A Curse So Dark and Lonely. and a middle grade, Fighting Words, by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. But I have read a lot of great books this year - narrowing it down will be tough.
