You nailed that Mike. Excellent! Love the way you did that. Close to stock but just enough of you to make it your own.You got the tone down and your volume swells are perfect. Bravo.
Morning coffee on the lanai. Sun showers blowing in on the trades. The slippery steel sounds of Luana. Thanks Mike. I think I like the tone in this "Booth" tuning better than the C6 in Dick's recording. A fuller, rounder sound. Aloha from the Big I.
Your descriptive prose of your location is wonderful. I am more comfortable with this tuning than any tuning as it is very close to a conventional guitar. I will have to try Dicks C#min tuning and his others shortly!
It would be I am sure Jean. Out of all the tuning's, C6 is the most playable. You will just have to watch where the strums are. The original tuning for this piece was C#minor!
@@MikeHollandGuitar That should’ve been my first guess. I’ve got one for my pedal steel and absolutely love it. I should order one for my lap steels. What size is your bar. Also, what tuning are you using? Thanks Mike. All the best.
The pickup manufacturer fitted the pickup. I know he had to modify both the mounting plate and the guitar for the pickup to fit. Unfortunately the the pickup maker died shortly after fitting the pickup!
@@MikeHollandGuitar The sound from my Fender Mustang amp is frustrating. I just can't get that unique Hawaiian lap steel sound. So you recommend the Yamaha THR10. Well, I'll just have to invest in one. Just love your sound.
@@imdeboy The little Yamaha is great for me. Not a gigging amp but perfect for home use. It is not a high end valve amp but it sounds really nice for the money. I set the amp on its acoustic setting for steel and the sound is there. Not thin or nasel but rich and warm. Other advantages are you can record direct through USB into a computer. Thats all I do. The Yamaha THR10 I have is the old model so there should be plenty around second hand that are quite cheap.
@@MikeHollandGuitar I can't thank you enough. I bought a Yamaha THR 10II today and it is just wonderful. This is the sound I could never get from the Fender. So small but what a lovely warm sound. I use the acoustic setting you recommended. Just perfect. I'll certainly be playing a lot more.
Ah, the old rubber band around the volume knob trick! I had to do that with the push-pull coil tap knob on PRS guitars.
The secret is out!
@@MikeHollandGuitar Thank's for "revelation".....KKKKK!!!!😅🤣😂
Sensacional!!! Parece a gravação de Dick Mcintire!!!
Dick Mcintire played so beautifully!
@@MikeHollandGuitar Qual pickup tem a sua guitarra? A Gold Tone LS6 Lap Steel usa normalmente uma "P90" (soap bar) e não tem esse som!
Original pickup very noisy so changed to a single coil bar pickup!
Special...special. As always Mike.
Thank you Roy!
FANTASTIC! Best one yet.
Thank you for your kind comments Frank!

Thank you Kevin, I still love the way Dick Mcintire plays this!
Nice
Man, that sounds sweet. One of my favorites already. Cheers
Thank you David..... it is very playable!

Thank you JD!
Nicely done once again, Mike. Hawaiian music might grow on my yet! :-)
It did on little unsuspecting me!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love your playing man.
Thank you!
Very nice Mike, went well with my breakfast and coffee!
Keith.
Thank you Keith......time for my breakfast now😃!
Very sweet playing Mike. Graham
thank you Graham....Hope you are well! Mike.
Beautifull Mike, would this song also be playable on C6? Thanks for uplaoding.

Pretty cool how close this sounds to ranchera.
It's the strumming
Nicely played. Are you using a Clinesmith bar?
Thank you Mark. The Bar is from Basil Henriques and is called an Ezze- Slide Bar.

Great, Mike. Did you have any trouble dropping that CC pickup into the Gold Tone? It sounds fantastic.

I would also like to add that biggest difference to my sound is the little Yamaha THR10..... a great little amp for home playing the steel guitar!
