I've accepted that I'm a Yujin bias that will get wrecked by Gaeul whenever she shows up lol. I didn't think After LIKE would top Love Dive (and it doesn't for me) but I was still blown away by the MV. The fireworks were so cool!
If you want to get to know them there is no better way as to watch the first season of 123 IVE. And it’s also their own variety show. It’s one of the best (pre) debut content i‘ve ever seen in terms of how fast I learned about all the members and became a fan.
Having lived my whole life in Montreal, every summer we have the International Fireworks Festival, which is basically an amazing fireworks competition where the best of the best show their stuff. So when it comes to fireworks, I'm not easily impressed (like, I've never seen, ever, a 4th of July fireworks display that made me go 'wow'). All this to say that, yeah, those fireworks at the end are definitely international competition level and did not come cheap. The member identified with the green colour in this mv is Rei, who is Japanese and a rapper. She usually writes her own stuff, like she did for this track. Check out Hiiigh, which is her self-written track, very much worth it!
Not just the maknae is young but ive age is pretty much super close to new jeans group and both mankae are same age the difference in treatment is because new jeans legit look like teens while Ive style n image is more mature so that ppl forget about their ages
I had the same reaction as you to the fireworks, first thing that came to mind was what if they messed up. Rei was the first rapper with dark hair she’s an 04, correct me if I’m wrong but I believe she wrote her rap section. the youngest is Leeseo 1:53 an 07
This was so good. Im not a fan of the heavy distortion on Liz’s voice cause we know the girl can sing! Rei owned this era for me 100% The fireworks make me nervous with how close it looks like they are to the girls because I get flashbacks to Michael Jackson’s Pepsi commercial where his hair caught on fire (which todays safety measures are probably completely different and better now adays) Ive I think could possibly be trendsetters with this new disco sound as we see retro concepts are starting to get tired. This girls are a force to be reckoned with.
I'm a little late to your great reaction, but you really need to check out their b-sides, especially Royal (Love Dive) and My Satisfaction (After Like). Their vocals really shine. Liz's high notes in Royal and the last three verses of My Satisfaction, in particular, are off the charts amazing!
You would love their B-sides. Royal is my overall favorite song from IVE. It really showcases all the members perfectly in a way that no title track has really done for them. Also, After Like is growing on me in a way that ELEVEN or LOVE DIVE quite haven’t.
