I ain't even mad about the "I will survive" sample. And you are right: they are refreshingly clean without being syrupy or cloying. They and their team have a clear understanding of their aesthetic and sensibility; of their brand. Someone pointed out that this is a continuation of their story: "Eleven" is the initial attraction; "Love Dive" is literally cupid's arrow; and "After Like" is that arrow taking effect. Makes perfect sense and is brilliant. (They all look great - but Gaeul shines with blonde hair)

they turned the kpop world upside down. let me be clear this year is rich in content for many groups debuting. and even if each year have at least between 50 and 100 new groups. usually only 10% or 15% are successful. Over time, new groups have all become very popular and have had critical and commercial success LESSERAFIM, KEP1ER, NMIXX, NEW JEANS are already making better starts than their elders. but IVE has pulverized all expectations 1 million albums sold in 5 months. 24 victories in music show, the fastest to win a trophy, ranked 2nd after blackpink in brand ranking reputation made by the prestigious korean research business. and it's very hard to be in the top 3, even TWICE struggled to get there. and their popularity around the world is only growing. I wouldn't be surprised if she beats TWICE or even BLACKPINK in the music shows.

I really like how Starship styles them, the underage members outfits are cute and age appropriate, where the older members show a little more skin but still tasteful. They aren't sexualizing them like most Kpop companies now a days

To me PV was an amazing prerelease because it's very blackpink, it's introducing the members so well with a lot of references to their past releases. The chorus is so catchy too. To me it's a good way to reintroduce the group in the Music industry for casual listeners or new fans. I'm pretty sure Born Pink will be amazing and shows more versatility in bsides. Born Pink will suits their old fans more. At least I hope so ahah My guess "pink venom : this is us" and "born pink: this is what we can do". And I also take in consideration that PV is just a bside, not the actual title so it's pretty good as it is. Ive and their agency must have worked hard to produce something this good, I won't bring down their efforts. @@fabricemaire4433 ahah okay I get it! I totally agree with the "quality over quantity" tho, to me BP just don't drop music as often as the others because they are more than a regular kpop group. Small groups have to be very active to stay relevant and well, survive. It's how kpop industry works, so many groups are debuting so you need to be consistent to keep your place and title. After gaining some fame you can release a bit less content. Blackpink does not need this anymore, as they are international phenomenons, their fame and notoriety are insane. And just like western superstars they drop music after 2 years. Some western artists can take 4 years before releasing an album. Being regular and active isn't necessary to gain fame anymore. It's sad for kpop lovers to wait for blackpink for two years while seeing other groups releasing music but with a more global point of view it's not so strange. But quality over quantity is clearly not working at some point, I agree with you. I don't really like HYLT and Highly prefer LSG so I can't really talk about it. It's totally the opposite, for me LSG is a way more solid than HYLT, its chorus, the dance, the vocals, the soft raps, the MV... HYLT is clearly (to me) not the best bside in the album, ofc it's only according to my personal taste. It doesn't make the music itself bad and I get the hype over it. It's pretty cool and catchy, the MV is beautiful and the lyrics are cool. They also worked hard on it. I also recognize it did its job wonderfully. HYLT was made to tease us before the album, to make us curious and excited. And even tho it is not my favorite song from the album , when it was released I was totally excited about their following activities. It's what prerelease are made for. Not to be soty, title worthy but to raise our interest! At least it's how I take it. I just want to add it's nice to discuss with you peacefully like this.
