Everybody talking about how Magcargo would destroy the planet, nobody talks about how the hottest man-made temperature is 7.2 trillion degrees Fahrenheit
Yes but that was for a VERY brief period (likely a few nanoseconds, if that). Having something one million times colder would still be much more catastrophic if it was around for longer. Probably. I'm not a physicist
I'd give Magcargo 209 lions, reason being, the average lion can survive 89 degrees F°, and Magcargo is 18k, so by doing the math, Magcargo can defeat 209 lions before it runs out of degrees.
I like this answer though nerding out and doing the temperature equations it would probably be less. Lions and the water in them is just hard to cook. But magcargo ist extinct SO it doesn't cool down as easily as we think, hmm I guess I just don't know.
Fun fact about the sun: The reason we feel its heat from so far away is not really just because its hot (although it has to be hot, for us to feel that its hot... duh). Its the suns mass, and the fact that the heat radiation wont dissappear in the vacuum of space that lets us feel that its warm. The hottest temperature we have created on earth is several million times the temperature of the sun (although just for a brief moment). So no marcargo would not oneshot every lion and pokemon on the battlefield with its mere precence, the little girl giving him a hug would be very dead tho.
fun fact: Lightning is nearly 3 times as hot as the surface of the sun. The fact that Magcargo is as hot as the surface doesn't mean shit. Now, if it was as hot as the core, maybe.
It has been stated that magcargo can control its body heat. The actual pokedex entry states that its body CAN reach heats of up to 1,000,000 degrees. Not that it is 1,000,000 degrees. Edit: I got the numbers wrong but the changing temp point is still valid.
Another instance of Pokémon fans getting facts wrong and just not understanding numbers. First of all, the dex only states it's 18,000 F° and before you brush it off saying that either one is hot enough, you are several orders of magnitude off the actual temperature Magcargo can reach, 18,000 F° is just 1.8% of what you claim it can reach. Second of all, Magcargo is very small to do any significant damage, heat-transfer has more to do with surface area than actual temperature.
Giraffe kicks are actually incredibly strong. Assuming it uses its psychic powers and a few kicks, I'd say Girafarig is guaranteed four or five at the very least.
The Pokemon anime even in the earlier seasons proves that Pokemon can choose to not burn people, being shown off with rapidash and people being able to ride it without being burned. Also the hottest burning gas is over 9000f slightly above the temperature of the surface of the sun and it didn't rip apart the earth so magcargo is plausible, the reason it doesn't hurt the earth or it's atmosphere is because magcargo is small molten rock and the sun is several times the size of the earth Though magcargo not being able to control how fast cools would be a problem for it. It would go out in a blaze of glory before being swarmed. And it may get just over triple digit lions. But for the 4000 estimate I applaud.
I hate how they blatantly disregard what the pokédex entry says. Pokémon that are caught in the game are not at their fullest potential. That can be proven in so many ways it's ridiculous. The games are the least accurate to the lore.
I don't know if the anime shows off their full potential either at least for the majority of Pokemon, so wouldn't that mean that no medium shows them off accurately?
Ah yes, the thing written by children is more accurate than the actual piece of media they originated on where you can empyrically see the limits and capabilities of the Pokémon as accurately as possible. Makes sense.
@@Glockenspheal the thing written by children is the pokédex though? The anime probably best portrays pokemon, since you can catch literal god in game, which doesn't make sense.
My biggest issue is that you take some of the dex entries literally, and then some you just brush off. If you're gonna brush off Magcargo being as hot as the surface of the sun, you should be able to brush off the fact that it turns to stone if not in a hot enough environment
We brush off dex entries that could never be true. Magcargo being that temperature makes no sense given the world exists, and people and Pokémon (some made of ice) can touch and stay near it. Lava cooling off is a real thing that happens.
@@biggarffan37I think you just misunderstand how heat works in this case. Thermite briefly gets hotter than the surface of the sun when reacted and it is used in many weapons that won’t destroy the world.
Fun fact we create stuff on earth rn using heavy machinery about the heat of the surface of the sun, also the lava slug is just the surface, I still find it so stupid why that’s our big argument for why pokemon win
Your bias shows a little when you downplay magcargo for being unrealistic, while accepting the unrealistic weights of everything so you can say lions "outweigh steelix"
We haven’t really questioned weights and heights because they have no reason to be inaccurate, because they are numbers that were presumably measured. Pokédex entries are all over the place and much less concrete. Some of them use conditional language like “it is thought” “maybe” “might be able to” etc. so why should we trust any of the ones making sensational claims about things that could never be true
These videos are hilarious but i love how these guys say they won’t use any other sources, and the moment the source says that lugia can blow away houses with light fluttering of its wings, they just say bs.
If you have a small object the heat of the sun you'll be fiiiiine, first of all the surface isn't actually THAT hot, and more importantly a small object wouldn't be an issue, we made shit hotter than the core of the sun in a lab (trillions of degrees, hundreds of times hotter than the suns core) so there. But yeah, that would definetly fuck up a little girl tryna hug it.
Here's my quick argument on why Pokedex entries are correct. Many like to say that these don't make sense because humans wouldn't survive any of this. Quick thing, the humans in pokemon, aren't regular humans. Ash and Lilly for example both easily picked up Cosmoem, a Pokemon that weighs "999.9 lbs". Ash again has shown to be super human a lot, like when he through a huge log. Overall, the reason why the pokedex are insane yet "realistic". Is because Pokemon is fiction, and these humans don't go by our real life rules. So no more "But then how can a human". But also Phobos is like a lion god, so take the L Pokemon
I love the concept of this video, but I don’t like the idea that they can just pick and choose what Pokédex entries they can use because “Some doesn’t make any sense. How can the world exist with a lava slug that’s 18,000 degrees?” Its just dismissing lore and feats that some Pokémon can accomplish. The Pokédex exists because the creators of Pokémon want to tell you what these fictional and fantastical creatures can do. You can’t dismiss the Pokédex “being written by 10 year olds” when they are being written by the authors of the series. For you guys to stay consistent in this logic, imagine the author of Dragon Ball told you “Goku is strong enough to destroy the universe” you would have to say “But that doesn’t make sense! How can Goku be strong enough to destroy the universe?! That doesn’t make logical sense! He’s only like 5’8 tall and only weighs like 200 pounds! He couldn’t kill a lion, much less a universe filled with lions!”
We generally dismiss pokedex entries that conflict with the rest of the pokemon world. Normal people are close to magcargo, can catch him, touch him, keep him as a pet in their house made of wood, and they are not incinerated. I find it disingenuous to ignore how the information in the pokedex entries directly conflict with what they demonstrate in the games and anime. It's more like if we were told Goku was strong enough to destroy planets and then in the manga and show he couldn't even chop a board in half.
@@biggarffan37 I can understand that line of logic, but you said it’s shown that people can touch and be around magcargo. So let me get this straight. Your argument is if magcargo is 18,000 degrees, he should burn everything around him up. Because I would argue the people and world of Pokémon can withstand those temperatures, because they CAN touch magcargo. Can you give me any sort of evidence that the Pokémon world and the humans within it CAN’T withstand such temperatures, because magcargo is evidence that they CAN!
To be fair, most the pokemon from Gen 1 and 2 are lame. Next up is camurpt, who is 2 volcanoes. So I would say at least 2, 000,000 from the eruption it probably dies in the process, but I don't think that stopping the eruption.
