Have a bando on my block. The addicted had been trying to set up camps right along, but my neighbors and I wont let them set up shop it all
We tell them you cant be here.
For the most part they are respectful get up and move along with no issues.
Then the same ones came and broke the metal covering that leads to the basement of the property..not 2 hours after the clean up was over.
10 addicted pple went in that house...block captain (my neighbor) called the cops...
Cops came and went in there,7 left free...3 got cuffed and stuffed
Yesterday the owner showed up...put another metal plate over it...
This morning more came and tired to set up a tent..
      Nope...we chased them AGAIN

I am a recovering addict.....I was homeless on those very streets for 2 & 1/2 yrs sleeping in abandos or the pavements, eating at the soup kitchen, seeing things that NO ONE should EVER see, having horrible things happen to me etc......I felt totally "STUCK"..... **ADDICTION is a very sad, lonely & scary existence.... IF ur a struggling addict, PLEASE realize that UR LIFE IS WORTH IT & U MOST DEFINITELY CAN GET CLEAN & SOBER!!!! If I can get clean/sober after using EVERYDAY for 20+yrs ....U DEFINITELY CAN TOO!! I work with the homeless here in Canton, Ohio and yes there are those that love living homeless and addicted but there are A LOT that had no choice and don't do drugs and are trying to get back on their feet. Some out of despair turn to the drugs because they keep getting lied to by all these fake Gov agencies that really don't help anyone but those that work for it... Why don’t you try putting yourself in their shoes and have some empathy instead? There’s no such thing as “choosing their circumstance” if what led up to their homelessness/drug addiction in the first place caused them to use drugs as a coping mechanism. It’s WAY deeper than simply the drug addicts and even the drug dealers themselves.

@dualmagnum2364 because during the 80s and 90s when black people were addicted, they got locked up. No one had empathy for them. Joe Biden increased sentences for possession of Crack vs powder cocaine. Now that it's white people, they're sick, they need help. Foh. Black men remember everything they did to us and you'll see it on election day.

I’ll even go as far as saying that yeah while the drug dealers morals are obviously wrong in what they’re doing and the effects of their actions, getting rid of them as if they’re the end all be all won’t be the one saving grace to fix everything. The problems are lack of affordable housing/poverty in general, little to no job opportunities/ low paying jobs, mental disorders/traumatic life experiences, and lack of access to affordable healthcare. Getting rid of poverty and then fixing the other problems above would have the amount of drug dealers lower significantly.

I would like a survey done to see how many of the people who say its terrible to clean up the area, where children have to pass thru ,sponsored even one homeless person or drug addict and took them home with them or let them set up the tents in their yard or found room in their church So quick to condemn others. Maybe you need to practice what you preach.

I noticed that too above 3 years ago as I walked around there. I could tell from their accents. One day I saw on that sidewalk a discarded certificate from a drug rehab center from Buck's County. The drug addict was released from up there to come down here to be on our streets doing drugs and sleep on the sidewalk.
