      Most special needs educators have way too many special needs students to monitor, unfortunately. Many families with special needs students DEMAND that their students have a right to a public education. I understand they are advocating for their kids, but some special needs students, due to their behavioral issues, cause too much classroom chaos so that the other students aren't learning.

    • @OG-Anetka

      @Missy-Missy1111 this is true.
      Incomparison to the 80s-90s, "Special Needs Students" were 1 : 200... but since the 2000s and up, the ratio has drastically increased 1 : 5 . From ADD to Severe Autism (with far too many spectrums to name).
      Why is this??
      As a parent of a daughter with ADHD, I understand the need for having an EA... but the levels of needs _some_ students require, Far exceed the capabilities of the EAs. 😞
      Which is why privatized schools for "Special Needs Students" should be prioritized. And they should not be placed in regular schools.
      Imo.

Kids fall while playing on playground all the time. 5 year old especially.. you have to find out first... A family friends son fell off the swing trying to get off too soon. Face first into the gravel and punched a tooth through his bottom lip.. you have to figure out for yourself. This situation is not that. The cover-up is obvious and school is to blame!

      When you send your kid to school, you hand over their safety to the staff. The staff failed him. Kids fight, it's human nature we learn to work out of ourselves, but to restrict a child from education because they're violent now only encourages violence when they're old enough to know better.

Who took the money made change? Give the milk et ceyeah because I'm ever tired hairdresser and estate home. Mom at that point so I decided I'd make a little money since I was at the school most of the time anyway.😊 And let me tell you it was. Eye-opening and not in a good way.😢 I volunteered even with my older children. But I did hear full-time with them. But what time my baby came along? She's a late in life, baby. She's 16 years younger than our eldest and I became a state of homework with her. Because at that point we were financially able to help me stay home. And she was very much a mama's girl. Very smart child, very good. Little girl, but she always been home with me. So when kiddingarden started and they offered me a position. I took it so that I could be with Her to calm her fears and mine, to be quite honest.😊 And thank God I did because many times I had to literally run into her classroom and save her Kitty garden went fabulously. And helped her come out of Rochelle, make friends and by the end of the kindergarten, she had several friends was very polite and her teachers and principal adored her as she is a very intelligent young lady and. Quite the people pleasure.. But then first grade started.Her teacher loved her.In fact, her teacher put her in a special class.That was literally the teacher.My daughter and 2 other students for advanced children and the school.You start out great and tell about two Weeks in the school my daughter came into the lunch room where I had just finished up. Wiping off the tables and was preparing to.
      Go to the kindergarten classroom where I volunteered after lunch hour as 80 a helper for kids who need extra help with reading. And my daughter came in looking ash. And de face and I knew something was wrong. Her teacher and authorized the students followed and her teacher said that I already just sit down at the lunch room tables and came over and explained to me. That they had a violent student and he was throwing chairs and beyond control. I thought this was weird for a first grader to be that violent and thought they're probably just getting the kids out of there for precautions. Didn't think much of it and knew my daughter was safe so. Everything was fine, Then, a few days later, they were back down in our lunch room again. My daughter looking quite ash and face and this time was actually shaking and crying. Her little silent tears. Her teacher had her arm around her and I asked my daughter if she was hurt, and my daughter said no. She was scared and the teacher explained to me that the same boy was throwing chairs and had actually punched the The teacher And it scared my daughter As we've come from a very solid Christian. Based home we do not scream. We do not fight. We do not have any violence whatsoever in our home. My daughter had never seen anybody behave this way and she was literally terrified. And she had never seen somebody act like a wild animal and this child watching his behavior over the next several months. That's the only way I can describe. It wasn't Wil the animal. He would go into these Fits of rage and he was a foster kid. And his foster mom was well-known to the school district. Has she had several foster kids and had for over 20 years? And unfortunately she clearly did it for the money. She was not overly concerned about his behavior she would literally tell the school. Well, just call the please if you can't control him. And the police will come every week for the same kid.And then he'd be right back in the school. This went on for 2 more years. Finally in third grade. Thank God my daughter, after first grade was no longer in his classes. Just by the short grace of God and in third grade, I had learned from one of my daughter's friend's mother that she was actually. Get no straining order against this boy. Because not only had this boy been attacking other classmates. He was trying trying to physically and sexually assault her daughter. He had tried several times in class to sexually assault her daughter. We're talking to third graders. These are 8 years and the teacher did everything she was. Capable of doing she moved her. She had removed him from the class and the school district. Would always end up putting him back. Even when they removed him from my daughter's friend's classroom and put him in another classroom, which in my opinion was ridiculous. He would find ways to break loose and render that classroom just to attack this young lady.😢 Well, that day that I talk to this girl's mom.Who is a acquaintance of ours?She told me she was pinned or trained to her against the family and therefore he would have to leave school because he had cornered her when she was coming out of the bathroom.He had broken loose of the His student aid workers grasp when he saw her by the restrooms and had grabbed her thrown her on the floor and preceded jump on top of her ripping her shirt and thank God the young man, by then, who was his student aid, got to him, lifted him up being strong enough and pulled him off with her. While the police were called, he was actually arrested and of course the girl was totally dramatized, she didn't come to school for 2 more weeks after that. So he was taken away and put in some kind of institution.And the last we heard that he was institutionalized for kids with sexual Deviant behaviors.So you're absolutely correct.Schools don't really do anything.I mean this kids behavior went on 4 2 years before anybody did anything

      @shAnn0n1 this is predominantly the fault of the special needs student's family, not entirely the school. I have a special needs child, you have to get special needs children in programs outside of school and/or get them on the proper medication they need. I cannot tell you how many times I was called up to the school cuz my child was being overly aggressive. But once they figured out what worked for my child, any problems were "fixed" and I stopped getting called to the school every day.
      It's unfortunate the school had to have students from such drastically different ages as kindergarten and 4th grade in the same classroom. Thankfully, my child's school was able to have any special needs students in a special education classroom with similar age & grade students, not kindergarten and 4th grade co-mingling in the same classroom... THAT part is the fault the school. But special needs students have to have the school and the family WORKING TOGETHER to manage and optimize their schooling, so both parties are at fault in this situation.

      Kids can be very cruel to each, bullying has Always been a problem, it just used to be handled very very differently both at school and at home. When I was a kid if I got in trouble at school, I got into worse trouble when I got home, but if I was being bullied and I beat up the bully, I wasn't the one thrown out. Too many parents today just do not parent, we see it everywhere from the kids running around a grocery store tearing things off displays, stealing to running up and down airplane aisles while the "parents" ignore it and act like/say their child does nothing wrong. I blame society for allowing CPS to have too much interference in parenting as well as parents shoving a phone or tablet at their child and telling them "go play and don't bother me". Children want attention and discipline, if they get constantly ignored or pushed aside they develop behavioral problems, this has been known for decades. Don't have babies if you don't like children.

      It's not just children.. When my 6 yr old started to cry and wet the bed at the thought of going to school I was baffled.. One morning I was driving him to school and his sobs got louder the closer we got.. So I pulled over and told him that I didn't care it we stayed there all day I wasn't moving the car.. He slowly told me that his teacher would scream at him if he was to slow to finish his work.. My child is dyslexic and needed that little bit more time than others.. So I took him home to this grandma for the day and I went to the school.. Saw the principle they said he was such a good boy that he must be mistaken about the teacher yelling at him.. So instead of waiting for him in the car when school was over I went and stood outside his class room.. Other mums told me that she was always yelling at my son.. Video recorder on I stood there waiting sure enough she because screeching at my little man because there were pencils on the floor near his desk (not his) she called him mental stupid lazy etc... I burst through the door like a mad woman told her to back up and told my boy to come with me we were leaving even though school still had 10 minutes left.. I marched to the principals office recording in hand.. She was fired that week as apparently other parents had witnessed what she was doing to my son.. Took me ages to get his confidence back ip to where he loved going to school again.. I encourage all parents to once in a while go stand outside your child's classroom to see for yourself what's going on in class.. Any school that doesn't allow this has something to hide..

    Go to the police, don't wait for the school to act. It IS the child's fault, if he is 10 or over, he should be arrested and prosecuted for assault through the juvenile system. Being special needs is not a license to commit crimes.

      I get what your saying but you should also understand that sometimes a child that has special needs (autism spectrum disorder for instance) takes A LOT longer to learn to properly communicate. If they're nonverbal it takes even longer. This could either be a kid that learning that "hitting is wrong" or it could be a kid with such severe disabilities that prevented him from properly being able to express emotions such as anger, frustration or sheer sensory overload. In situations like this the only true remedy is a fully isolated classroom environment and a COMPETENT teaching staff. Though I do agree that sometimes getting law enforcement involved or even the threat of getting law enforcement involved is the only thing that will bring real change.

The aggressive student bit my child through his denim jeans so hard he drew blood. No one from the school called me, the bus driver who dropped him off at his after school program said nothing and his caregivers called me immediately when they took him to the restroom. We didn’t have video cameras in the classroom back then and I couldn’t afford an attorney, but the next morning I raised holy you know what and threatened to sue if they school didn’t find an immediate solution. As a parent of a child in a special needs program within an elementary similar to that of the 4th grader in the story, I find it HIGHLY upsetting and unacceptable that the 4th grader and kindergartener were even in the same space to allow for this to happen. These programs typically work in tandem with the school and protocols are set in place to create balance for a safe and nurturing environment. Even within the special needs program, the younger students are kept separate from the older students. If the child exhibits extreme behavior, the kid would be assigned to the school within the district assigned for special needs kids that need more focused attention. It seems that the school AND the program were sloppy with their program structure and the appropriate protocols were not set in place.
