- The Garifuna Music Festival which will feature five genres of Garifuna Music, Hungu Hungu, Paranda, Gunjei, Punta, and Punta rock. Gracing the musical stage will be Garifuna musicians from Belize and abroad⚫⚪🟡
The Battle of the Drums Initiative was conceptualized in October 2006. Its main objective is to revive and promote various aspects of the Garifuna culture. Garifuna drumming, singing, dance, and food are just some of the key areas of focus in helping to keep the culture alive. In 2012, the Initiative was consolidated under a non-profit company named, Battle of the Drums. The initiative’s major focus has evolved into the promotion of Garifuna Cultural preservation as well as Cultural tourism. Battle of Drums has now become synonymous with the Garifuna Culture and has continued to promote everything GARIFUNA

It's amazing how these people never been to Africa but the music is very very African!
They are African descendants that's why and they're a group of black people in Central America that had maintained their African traditions from their ancestors generations ago so it's not a matter of whether or not they had traveled or lived in Africa or not but more of carrying on traditions that were passed on,this is their culture and way of life,not appropriating a culture.

How freaking rude of "the battle of the drums" to keep putting that big ass, distracting sign over GCK performance. One of the best singer along with C. Wils, who proudly speak their language during their performance. . They didn't do that for the performance out of Belize.

Why do y’all keep doing all the switches with the camera? I can’t even enjoy the video cuz y’all switch literally every second, you’re missing all the good pieces
I totally agree with u. Its just annoying and pointless. Every minute they switching camera angles. Cant even enjoy d show
The switching was to what was happening on stage. Seemed fine. But, was there even an audience? The applause seems to be on the same meter all the time and the camera never showed the audience.
