    wow ..... this LandCruiser and the drums are so amazing - I wish I could do that myself.
    This looks soooo real and you hit the spots where rust is growing so exactly ..... cool.
    What I am missing though is the same amount of quality to the interior.
    Keep on with that work coming from your heart.

    Why did you split the drums?
    They came out looking great!

      I split them to remove and paint the “filler cap”, as well as to touch up the seams (remove the casting edges), to try and make the joints invisible.

    I have a noob question: how do you know where to put the rust effects on a barrel or anything else for that matter? I mean aside from relying on references, there appears to be a logic to it.

      Hi Jon. You pretty much have to imagine where the paint would get damaged, like edges, high spots, etc. - and this is where the rust will start to form.
