MPC was a major time saver for me. German ESTA user, flying from FRA to JFK. installed the app ahead of time, then I could use the diplomat/army line at JFK. 15 minutes waiting time instead of 60. Went to my Global Entry interview immediately afterwards. The interview was done before my bags were ready for pickup even! Also, the officer at the MPC line was very relaxed and easy-going - great immigration experience!
Ditto MPC. Used it twice last year and cleared passport control with NO waiting. Note: MPC is not available at all airports. I fly internationally from IAD - Washington Dulles, and it's a great experience for an exhausted traveler.
You guys are great, long time sub here and I have garnered a great deal of information from your channel. Suggestion - Topic - do a video about how to use downloaded Google Maps AFTER they have been downloaded. There are a million videos about how to download but very few if any about how to use the maps afterwards. I mean, when you need one of the downloaded maps, do you go to Google maps "Offline Maps" in your Google account? It looks to me like that is just a place to add, delete or update the map in question??? Do you just use the normal everyday Google Maps app? Once you have the downloaded map up on your phone can you zoom in to street level or type in an address and will it find it like using everyday Google Maps? We need a step by step guide on exactly how to use the already downloaded maps. Thanks and Happy Travels.
Just wanted to say this is hands down the best and most helpful travel apps video on RUclips no nonsense just real recommendations unlike other RUclipsrs who just throw in apps they don’t even use for a paycheck appreciate the honesty
I'm in France right now, and literally just learned about Google Lens yesterday. I plan on moving here in May and have been learning French for about 5 months now, but what a game changer in restaurants, reading menu boards and things like that.
Helpful video! I love Citymapper for navigating public transport. It tells you which exact subway entrance to use, for example, and even which end of the train to be on to be closest to the exit you need at your stop!
Great video. Some good tips. I agree a camera is unnecessary. However, with most Android phones, the stock camera app is excellent, and the photos are awesome. If you want top of the line and just point and shoot, Google Pixel 9 pro is the best. Everyone overseas uses whatsapp for messaging so that is essential for travel too.
In addition to airline apps, I use apps to manage my train bookings, both general apps like trainline as well as those of specific train companies in Europe. Thanks for this valuable video.
Great video, as always. We are doing a complex Italy trip, and started using tripit based on your recommendation. It looks nice - but my wife and I are both subscribed as "non-=pro" - how do you guys manage it? Is one of you a pro member and the other in the family circle? Trying not to duplicate all the entries for shared trips. I agree with another comment below that there is a whole "tripit tips and tricks" video waiting to be made! Thanks for all you do.
Google maps Doesn't provide walking navigation offline Bike? No either Public transport? No again, no you cant see the bus time for tommow, offline, even if you updated the map You need a real offline navigation, magic earth, osm/osm+, Guru maps, Here, sygic Just to name a few, that work 100% offline
📱✈️ Some of these apps are total game-changers-especially the ones for navigation and real-time translation! 🔥 I love how tech keeps making travel smoother and more stress-free.
I use pack teo....for easy packing list...I have created templates for different types of travel and now I just select the templates that fit my travel destinations and list is done in seconds! Sometimes I need to add a couple of extra things.
Tipping? Tripit include that, pro, internation travel tools Power socket? Tripit has that too Vacication needed or recommend, tripit has that too Embassy, adress, phone number, tripit Local emegency number, tripit Driving section, tripit You did recommend tripit
Is tripit pretty good about changes? For example you book a flight, get an e-mail, then cancel flight or hotel etc.? Does it back it out or do you need to delete the items that get cancelled?
On my November trip to Portugal for 3 weeks, Tripit only gave my information about my flights to Portugal & nothing about the return. All the information was sent to Tripit months before the trip & there were no changes after the trip started.
My experience is that it's hit or miss. I have a flight scheduled months from now, and the time of the flight changed a couple days ago. Tripit caught it and made the change to my calendar. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's at least *designed* to try to do what you're talking about. There's an entire video to be made about Tripit and its advantages and disadvantages, I think.
Hi Guys, this is not pertaining to this particular video,,,,however, could you please tell us which is better to choose when making a credit purchase in Europe (for instance) ? I have a US credit card with no international fees, but I am always asking, upon payment of an item, if I want Euros or USD. Which is better????? thanks!!!
Was looking for the flaire app but it look like it is only Apple I'm on Android may want to add a caveat as not everyone uses Apple. I get you use Apple but am not sure how many of your viewers use other options. Thanks

Me too. 15 minutes vs 90 in Seattle
I love such videos, it requires so little effort to install these apps but it makes your travel so much easier and better

British citizen/UK passport holder here and I love global entry. Saves so much time at the airport
Thanks!
As always, super useful info and tips. Thanks, Nik!
A few of these apps are Apple only. I wish a recommended Android option was provided in these instances.
Thats sucks, You saved me from watching the whole video since I dont have Iphone
Yes many of us have other Android devices
Yeah, Flaire and Global tips got me really excited, and theeeeeeeeen not available
I have Citymapper, Viator, Google maps, Google Translate, Rome2Rio, and one I just found last trip - GPSmyCity - on my Android.
Helpful video! I love Citymapper for navigating public transport. It tells you which exact subway entrance to use, for example, and even which end of the train to be on to be closest to the exit you need at your stop!
Perfect time for this video to be posted, thank you!

So....how much personal info, that is not pertinent to using the app, do these apps collect from users? You should prob cover that for viewers

MPC has been actually much faster than Global Entry at DFW Airport when I used in in 2023 & 2024.
Very useful...thanks fir sharing.
Another great video. THANKS

The new Samsung Galaxy Phone UIs also does live translations and speaks it back. It works surprisingly well.
City mapper is available on Android. I think some of the cities are somewhat limiting but it'll probably be useful.
Tipping?
Tripit include that, pro, internation travel tools
Power socket? Tripit has that too
Vacication needed or recommend, tripit has that too
Embassy, adress, phone number, tripit
Local emegency number, tripit
Driving section, tripit
You did recommend tripit
Offline maps are available with Apple Maps on iPhone as well….
HTTPS, SSL
Yup DNS are encrypted too
VPN is not needed for that
VPN is good to bypass internet censorship
Turkey block booking, hotels
Is there an alternative for Flaire for Android users?

Always pay in the local currency - this avoids unnecessary conversions and fees
Do you take private questions? This European travel planning is very intimidating.

Flaire does not show up in an Apple Store search or a Google Play Store search.
So you use MPC if you do not have global entry?
yes exactly
The iPhone calculator now has currency conversion built in.
Yes, as shared in the video. :) Thanks for watching
Flaire is Apple only😢
And recent reviews are not good.
Kayak is tripit for free
Flight information, notification
You have to pay for tripit to get flight notification
But great in combination
GORLAMI
To much personal and private information is being sharing with these companies.. you should address that..
please gatekeep MPC😭
Can't stand gatekeepers myself 🙄
The best travel app is AI
Just open Message, and germibi?
Or the chatgpt app?
Copilot?
Or apple AI?
Google pixel phone?
