    Plenty of other off road vehicles with IFS don’t have this issue. So it’s def the weak tie rods

    • @TheGreekbull
      @TheGreekbull 5 месяцев назад +2

      Definitely weaker with the regular Broncos...not an issue at all with the Braptor which has much stronger tie rods and steering components. But his point about using front lockers in the wrong spot is valid and not many other vehicles with IFS have front lockers....Bigger point buy a Braptor lol

  • @Nanan00
    @Nanan00 7 месяцев назад +16

    My coworker folded the tie rod on his Bronco pulling into our parking lot at work the second week he had it. The Braptor has different steering gear than the normal models, saying you have no issues with yours means nothing to everyone else who doesn't have a braptor.

I have had my Badlands since 21, been on numerous obstacles and trails and lol I’m still intact. I dam sure never broke a tie rod on ANY vehicle pulling into a parking lot. Stop it.

    IFS rigs are not designed for rock crawling. So yes you can say that it is driver error causing steering failure. Use the correct tool for the job.

    Matt, love ya man. But you and I both know the tie rod and steering rack on the broncos are a huge weak point. Seen them break on the smallest of obstacles. Also, no clue why Jeep guys even give a shit about comparing broncos, they’re two different vehicles with two different purposes.

    • @desertchief5769
      @desertchief5769 7 месяцев назад +1

      I don't think it's a catch-all though. This video simply states that weak tie rods and bad driving aren't mutually exclusive. Both can be the case, but only one is taking all the blame.

  • @thegmanfromsf
    @thegmanfromsf 7 месяцев назад +4

    So your reasoning is that you shouldn't use the front locker,? So what's the point of having it? And bouncing may happen and break your tie rods without giving you an opportunity to back off. And large scrub radius is a problem for solid axle rigs as well as IFS rigs (as well as bouncing). Fact is that the tie rods break way too often for broncos and there's aftermarket solutions for that. This video is misleading. Looks like it's made more to stir a storm in a teacup for the Jeep vs bronco argument.

      They also don’t come with a front locker or 35’s, and most who do those mods already have some off road driving experience, and thus, are less likely to drive in a manner that breaks parts. That’s the impetus of this video.

    The videos you show, claiming the driver was turning, which broke them, didn’t break any of those. They simply broke, because they’re weak. The bouncing you show is so minimal and the tie rods immediately broke. These tie rods have been breaking, since before the release of these these vehicles to the public. When I looked at how small they were, it was no wonder to me why they break. You denying they’re weak is as bad as if Ford’s engineering department is telling management it’s not their fault. It’s an inadequate design. I’m waiting to hear the recall.

    Great info. It is just like with racing. Whether you Drag or Road, driving skill is the most important part of the activity. The same goes for Off-Roading. I have seen a lot of people with built RIGS break them because they simply do not know how to drive them for what they are doing.

    • @husker_nation
      @husker_nation 14 дней назад

      @@willrector9716 The Wranglers are better at rock crawling, which is a minute people who do that extreme stuff. The IFS fails when people don't know how to off-road, when they modify the Bronco without thinking about everything else they have to modify. If you off-road the way the engineers intended, then one wouldn't have as many problems.

    FYI the Bronco Raptor and Wild Track have the hoss 3.0 system now. In fact on all sasquatch package broncos FORD has now included the Hoss 3.0 steering system. Oh and the 4 people I know that broke tie rods while off-roading didn't have the locker engaged. The entire rack is the problem. 74 welds version fixes the problem. But hey everyone have there own thoughts on this subject.

    It’s not hard to conclude the actual problem is manufacturer error. They’ll be forced to recall them after so many failures. Big tires will bend the inner tie rod or link between them before they cause active rod to break, old bronco 2’s didn’t have a problem and even the exploder series survived with bigger tires.

  • @bdd1469
    @bdd1469 7 месяцев назад +1

    This is just a 13 minute excuse for why the bronco can't do what it was designed to do. When in reality the only reason is that ford made the steering components too small for what everyone knew bronco owners were going to do with them. Which is put bigger tires and wheels on them, and use their lockers off road to prove how they are just as capable as a Jeep. Funny how we don't see Chevy ZR2 Tie rods folding up since it has IFS and a locker, even tho full size Chevy tie rods always fold up at truck pulls. It's almost as if Chevy learned something, or are ZR2 drivers just much smarter than bronco owners? For the record I am a Jeep owner. I have less than $15k in it, and recovery stuck broncos with it every weekend.

    • @desertchief5769
      @desertchief5769 7 месяцев назад

      I'm glad you went there. It takes a SIX INCH LIFT and 0 offset wheel just to fit a 35" tire on a ZR2. Square wheel wells were another one of Chevy's bright ideas. And not too many of those running around the trails...in fact, I've personally never seen one in anything remotely considered as a rock-crawling trail.

    • @bdd1469
      @bdd1469 7 месяцев назад

      Maybe Chevy figured out that bigger isn't always better. If you don't understand this ask your mom. She'll tell you that being bigger doesn't mean the most capable. In my opinion you're much better off having smaller tires on your not broke down trail rig , than bigger tires on your broke down trail rig. Square wheel wells? Really? Only a bronco fan boy can be stupid enough to bring up wheel wells when broncos are one of the ugliest vehicles to ever roll off a showroom floor. The fender flares look like an afterthought, like something a 17 yr old ricer got off the clearance isle at pep Boys.
      You've never seen a ZR2 on the rocks? Maybe if your rig was more capable you could get to the difficult part of the trail where they hang out. I've never seen a bronco accomplish a difficult obstacle without breaking something, so I guess we're kind of even there...

Both have no lift. Most of the time its driver s using lockers at the wrong time. The biggest problem is that they leave it in drive and not put it in first. I use the hell out of my crawl gear when out on the trails. The a trac system will fugue it out and just crawl . To you jeep guys i broke many of them over the past 35 years
