i just want to say one thing...
I do judo and jiujitsu, and hearing the things about helio and kimura, i must say these:
the difference in strehght between the two is not only in the weight. theres a guy in my bjjdojo thats built pretty much like kimura (the body type), even without gym.
doest matter much your technique, he destroys everything, and hes a black belt.
so, of course kimura would win helio anyday. and Helio neves said they didnt know how to pass a guard or do guard, he say he just modified for him...
      I think chad knows that

Once Kimuras elder brother was attacked by a neighbouring dog. Next day Kimura went to the streets and found this dog. He beat it. In couple of days he saw this poor dog with a bandage, he broke a couple of bones. He was crazy in his childhood. 🐺

    • @HollyNihon

Kimura kicked the dog using geta (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geta_(footwear) ). In 2000, I translated only those pages of his autobiography “Waga Judo” pertaining to his fight records and experiences, and posted the translations on MMA Underground Forum. Having been a full time math professor in US, I did not have enough time to translate the whole book. 2 more biographies of Kimura were published in 2011 and 2018, each over 700 pages. The author of the 2 books spent 27 years in total to write these books.

I remember this article. Another thing which surprised me when I read these pages was the reason why he really started doing judo. As I remember, he was saying that one day he had some discipline issues in the school and his school teacher punished him by using judo techniques. Since then he wanted revenge and after doing some little research on his school teacher he found that teacher was a former judo player. Kimura came to a decision that if he want his revenge to be happen and beat his teacher he also have to learn judo. Little Kimura was very aggressive and vindictive.

The station mentioned in Kimura's autobiography was abolished then. In 1990, it was replaced by a PC girder bridge. ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%95%B7%E5%85%AD%E6%A9%8B

Note 2: According to Page 28 of “Waga Judo”,
“My older brother was bitten by 3 dogs, and was seriously injured when I was in the 1st year of middle school (age 12 or 13). I got to the geisha house that owned the 3 dogs (at about 50m from his house), whistled to call them out one by one, and kicked up each of the 3 dogs by full force (wearing geta). Next day, I passed by the geisha house, and found that all the 3 dogs were thoroughly rapped in bandages. I felt I gained confidence in street fights against thugs through this experience.
When I was in the 2nd year of middle school, I placed 2nd in the Kumamoto Prefecture Sumo Championship. At the final, I threw my opponent by Oo-sotogari. But the gyouji (ref) declared the opponent as the winner saying that my foot got out of the do-hyou (ring) first. Several days after the championship, I was scouted by Chinzei Middle School. My family, however, could not pay the tuition for the private school. My older brother then said, “I will earn the tuition, delivering newspapers.”. In 1932 April, I transferred to Chinzei Middle School, and joined the judo club of the school.”.
Note 3: According to Page 237 of ”木村政彦は なぜ 力道山を殺さなかったのか (Kimura Masahiko was naze Rikidozan o korosana katta noka: Why didn't Masahiko Kimura Kill Rikidozan?), Kimura actually threw all the 4 rogue MP's into the river when the water level was high. (After I found out the length of the bridge is 123m, I was surppised to know that none of the 4 MP's died after they were thrown into the river.) This news propagated throughout the judo community of Japan. All the judoka in Japan were galvanized by this news, and praised Kimura as Super Hero. (In 1945 Nov, GHQ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_Commander_for_the_Allied_Powers banned school judo. In 1946, GHQ dismantled Butokukai. Even Kimura had no job as a judoka in 1946, and earned money in the black market selling coal. All the other judoka in Japan were also unemployed at the time.)
Note 4: 1945 July 1, Kimura got married in the city of Kumamoto. At 11:50PM of July 1, 154 B29's started to bomb Kumamoto, and kept on dropping 1107 tons of incendiary bombs until 1:30am of July 2. When Kimura took out his wife and parents from his house for safety, he saw swirls of flame with hot wind near the house, and escaped to a nearby mulberry field.
Kumamoto was bombed by US forces on 1944 Nov 21, 1945 Mar 18, Mar 27, May 13, June 17, June 29, July 1-2, July 4, July 10, July 24, Aug 5, Aug 7, Aug 10. The total damage: 30% of the city was burned down, 11,906 houses were burned down, 617 residents were killed, 1317 residents were injured, and 13 residents were missing.
US bombed almost all the cities of Japan, and massacred over 1 million civilians in Japan, according to the most recent 2009 research report by Toshiyuki Tanaka (born May 26, 1949, History Professor at Hiroshima University).

4 against 1, I don't how good you are, you lose unless they were all 60kg. Two grab you and the other kick you in the head. I know this from personal experience.

Knife is very dangerous, it's not question of martial arts or not. I like talk survivor from Attack knife, not defense. Rikidozan was formidabile wrestler, him destroy kimura in a spectacular fighting, but lose his life in a violent stabbing from young Yakuza.

    Knife fighting, no such thing.
I went to party and a stabbing occurred no one ever said tommy got in a knife fight.
Went to a garden party and a stabbing occurred.
I am getting stabby in here.
    That makes me all stabby.
Shanks, shived, weird only prisoners call knife fighting by the correct name shived - shanked - old stabby.
