- Paul Pigat and Diego Garcia are fantastic guitar players, as is evidenced by this video. This performance took place at the Casa de la Cultura in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, as part of the 2024 International Guitar Festival that takes place there each year. The festival runs eight days and occurs at a number of different venues. There were about twenty different musical acts taking part in the festival this year.
The view in this video is from the side of the stage and was available to me as I was a stage manager helping the musicians set up and take down their equipment between acts. There were three separate acts each night for six nights at this venue. There were opening and closing concerts at the much larger main pier venue where all twenty acts each performed a short set.
I hope you enjoy this performance where Diego joined Paul towards the end of Paul's solo show. The two really know how to have a musical conversation with each other.

That was really great guys! Thanks so much. They were fantastic. Need to see you up on the stage with them Tom. Thanks again. I loved it.
Hi Ed. Yes, these guys are really good players. Fun to hang out with, too. They have some late night jams at a bar that I might be able to get in on next year. Thanks for the comment!🎸👍

Oh yeah, they can play.
Hi Tom & Julie, some pretty cool guitar playing. I hope you are both well, we are all doing good but fed up with all the rain the UK has had since December last year. Thank you for sharing, much love to you both. xx ❤
Hi Sue. Yes, these guys are great players. I hope the weather dries out for you soon. Sounds like you've had enough rain. Thanks for the comment and love!👍😊❤️
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I expect the water company will still impose a hosepipe ban though lol. xx
Good music for a Sunday night 👍
Glad that you enjoyed it!🎸
I looked up Zihuatanejo and realized you were in Mexico, have fun.
Hi Brian. Yes, we are in Mexico and having fun. Coming home soon.

Thanks, Brother!
Hi, Tom and Julie. That's great fun. Looks like your enjoying yourselfs. Sounds great. I was hoping you would be there with them playing Tom.
Hi Bob. Most of the players here are very accomplished world-class musicians. I did do some playing at the local bars and some fun parties. There is also a late night jam at a popular bar with the Guitarfest musicians that takes place after the official Guitarfest shows that I'm going to get into next year.🎸
That sounds great, get those strings warmed up go have some fun.
Wow super cool. What time of year is this?
Hi Deano. Yes, these two are great. The Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival will be from March 1st through Marc 8th this year. It's a fun time to be in Zihua. This video is from last year's festival. Thanks for watching!👍😄
Hello Tom Hello Julie
Thank you for this wonderfull music.
Yours Frank Galetzka
Hello Frank. You're welcome. Glad that you liked it!🎸
These guys are amazing, thanks for turning me onto them! Have you heard Hermanos Gutiérrez? Check out their Hijos Del Sol album, I think you’d enjoy it. I love the entire world music scene, for the last year I’ve been exploring 1960s modal jazz from Northern Africa, Mulatu Astatke & Girma Beyene are 2 great compser/performers and the music has a completely different vibe. Hope you guys enjoy! 🙌🏼
Hi Dave. Yes, these two are great players. Thanks for the music recommendations. Lots of cool music in the world. I'll check them out.😁🎸
Masters😀
No doubt about it, Mark. They are both really good players and super nice guys.🎸
👍🏻
Hey Dave!
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I have a hollow body " Kent" electric guitar holding up my wall , I needed some inspiration!
My fingers are worn out just watching. Good toe tapping. 😊
Haha, that about it, Richard!🎸
You get to see different stuff in Mexico.
Yes, we really do get to see a lot of different stuff here. 🎸
Where's the safest place to get prescription medication in Mexico?@@TomandJulieMineExploring
Boy I don't know. It seems like there are a few local 'pharmacias' in town that seem busy. I've never gotten any meds here.
@@TomandJulieMineExploring It will be safe at places like Walmart or Cosco. Haven't been to Mexico since 1973 at Piedras Negras(sp?) I saw a Mariachi band that was absolutely incredible. I saw a meat market that was not. Since I don't speak Spanish, I am at a disadvantage.
@cdetrixhe It has been very safe where we are, and the locals are very friendly for the most part. Where we stay doesn't even have locking doors or glass in the windows, only screens. Of course, like any city you have to make good decisions. You wouldn't want to wander around at 2:00 am drunk with a pocket full of money. The guitar festival was very good and I had fun helping with it.
