kpf63954 That’s assuming that in the world of MMA, he fought a guy that has mastered multiple disciplines, and therefore has the ability to outmatch an elite boxer, which is actually very rare in Major MMA promotions to this date. Most top guys excel in one department, can maybe do some good in other disciplines, but for the most part do not have a balanced skill set where all their attributes are elite level. Jon Jones for example has excellent kickboxing and wrestling, but lacks basic standup boxing technique, Conor McGregor has excellent stand up abilities, but lacks in wrestling, stamina, and frankly everything else, Khabib is a monster wrestler, but his overall striking ability is comparable to an amateur. I’d say Roy’s chances against an MMA fighter is a little better than what you’re talking about. That’s not to say if you put him against say Wanderlei/Anderson Silva, Fedor, or Mirko Cro Cop, then sure he’d be toast, but I do believe that elite/god tier level boxers are definitely thrown under the bridge far too often in the grand scheme of things.

Roy was not cold about his father. What would have been cold is if he killed him, but instead he respectfully walked away. Brutal abuse of one's child continuously makes a parent not worthy of respect and they will have earned whatever response they get from the child, even if tragic. That does not take away any good a parent did however. Roy's father damaged him psychologically, despite his success in boxing.
No... He explained it plain and simple... He abused him as a child, he used corporal punishment... And as he grew he decided he wasn't going to let his dad treat him in a manner he wouldn't let a guy off of the street treat him, some before he put hands on him he moved out, out of respect... Who the hell wants to kill their own father

@@vincelosito215 in bare knuckles, Roy would destroy just about anyone... And he could make it as ugly as he wanted it to be. However, in the world of MMA, Roy would get fucked up badly. Assuming he failed to learn the intricate details of the clinch game, wrestling, jiu jitsu, muay Thai style kickboxing, Dutch style kickboxing, and a little tae kwon do (punching, kicking, & distancing w/ maybe a little judo or hapkido mixed in along the way is the way my Master taught it. (I love hapkido, btw.) or even dabble in learning a good hard style of karate like tang soo do, then I'm afraid it would be curtains for Roy, pretty quickly too. Though there is no doubt in my mind that Roy Jones, Jr would fight a top MMA fighter in the streets of His hometown of Pensacola, FL or in the Octagon at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. That's a true to life, dyed in wool 'tuff guy' coming to you right there in Roy Jones Jr. Approach with great caution 😈😳🤛🤕💪😠🥋. I've heard he's a very nice guy, but I still wouldn't take my chances:) or raise any conversational topics that might possibly piss him off. The dude is psychotic... Doesn't care if he dies & probably doesn't care if you do either. I'll never forget watching him get ROBBED of the gold medal by the Korean fighter in the Olympics in the worst decision I've ever seen in boxing. Well, I don't blame the Korean fighter for the piss poor decision, I do, however, blame the shitty, blind judges. Wtf fight were the watching 👀?
kpf63954 That’s assuming that in the world of MMA, he fought a guy that has mastered multiple disciplines, and therefore has the ability to outmatch an elite boxer, which is actually very rare in Major MMA promotions to this date.

Straight facts
In his prime he pick a lot of his fights and some fights wasn't even top 10 in his weight. Hall of Famer but Overrated

Lmfao!
So true
😂
He always has the most blank, I dont wanna be here expression on his face. 😂
That is THE most accurate comment yet!! Lol
This is the most I've ever heard Roy elaborate on his relationship with his father. I found that part fascinating.
Long live Roy Jones. I'm so glad I watched most his career. Love his honesty and him telling us his personal life story. Good stuff
Roy has NO fear. Walk right into the middle of the Terror Squad, full of artillery, and barked on Fat Joe. Shows you the respect Roy commands, and shout out to Fat Joe for not allowing that to escalate. Its almost like he saw that Roy came in the middle of the jungle unarmed and like a man came to him, and respected that.
Those people and guns r just for show. What's he supposed to do kill Roy Jones jr.? ...&Jones is a boss!
Owoulda lookatthat! Guns kill people, bruh.

Still my fave boxer of all time, and I bet he's a pretty great man to know.
Middle dude lived a sheltered protected life. He is in disbelief of his story lol.
You see it, right? Had me so annoyed
Seriously, this was painful to watch
He’s from a family of Cuban refugees. I wouldn’t call that sheltered.
@@bullmilk How much do you know about the White Cuban community in Florida?! Because your use of "refugee" is technically accurate, but misleading in giving a true picture of the situation.
Marcelo Flores yep. Out of his depth
Roy Jones is a beast! Respect and big shout out from Argentina!!
Aside from being one of the greatest boxers, he's also a man of great character. Roy is a real one.
I respect this man for speaking honest, he is so straight forward and tells it like it is
Would y'all get out his personal business with his old man damn that went on too long
They are just ridiculous.
It sure did!
Hahahaha for real!!!
A TRUE FUCKING WARRIOR, RESPECT.
Roy Jones Jr. is one bad dude. Too raw. So calm, collected and confident. One of the best boxers in history, if not, the best.
Roy Jones jr. is a soldier and soldiers don't fear death.. These two reporters could never understand that.
@HEAT1996 Throughout history there have always been soldiers that didn't fear death. That didn't make them crazy, just meant that they found something worth dying for.. The Japanese Kamikazze from World War 2 come to mind.
Pride cometh before the fall. Those types usually don't last too long.
Roys dad was right. The dog attacked the sister and Roy wasn't going to put the dog down. His father did what Roy couldn't do. I would have shot his dog too.
Brolick Scholar But to come on his property to do that tho without talking to Roy first?
Talking is pointless. When a dog attacks a human especially family and in particular my daughter! It's gotta go. Fuck what my son says. I've lived out back in the country too. It's just the way it goes. I'm the Daddy. Roy knew better than to challenge his father. That's why he still respectshis dad now. His daddy didn't take NO shit! Roy can talk all the shit he wants but he knows...... Daddy is Daddy!
Roy don't play.
Nobody is gonna waste their time trying to kill this dude after a stupid confrontation with Fat Joe
@Tax-bitchass biyatch Fat Joe too smart for that thug shit
Roy calm and collected. Homie with the beard trying to poke over and over again about personal issues and get a rise out of him. Dude gonna get 3 pieced and soda one of these days
Won't even take a 3 pc and a soda. One soda (pop) is all it takes. Dude has issues. Seems like he does "cowardly" things. Real people who will take on anybody don't really have fear like others have. He is one reason why some people don't watch this show. Some people are annoying as interviewers. One thing to go over the issue to help clarify things to help people become better human beings but he just seemed dumbfounded.

All I'm going to say is I grew up watching RJ and in his PRIME HE WAS POUND FOR POUND THE BADDEST MAN ON THE PLANET
He was, and I was a huge fan too but he fucked it. Too many fights and losses that should not have happened.
@@nomoremrniceguy368 Now where he messed up was after fighting John Ruiz he had to drop alot weight for Tarver! He should of fought Tarver before Ruiz! I saw Jones become a Monster against Ruiz! And I agree it was very upsetting to see him take loses like he did!
Joey Thornton but yet never really beat any big names outside of James Toney and a very green Bernard Hopkins early in his career. I guess he would look like the best when your mowing through tomato cans most of your career. Pound for pound the greatest of all time was Sugar Ray Robinson

One word for Roy Jones .Gladiator!
Bro, gladiators didn't fight til death dats a lie which has been repeated again n again. Do your research, my dude. And Roy wasnt willing to die he's over exaggerating.

A boxing legend with consciousness and awareness who learned life lessons
Roy💯 not the man to mess with 🔥best Tyson and Roy ever live
Roy jones has a alpha male attitude. Some things he said about the way he handle the situation with his father was cold .some people are not even lucky enough to say they had a father in their lives.roy even said his father helped him build a foundation in himself.but in all hard to knock a man who successful and speaks his mind rather hes wrong or right.thats a man right there.
A person who is willing to kill his dad over a dog shouldn't get praise.
believer from experiences I am saying don't know his life his Dad probably abused the fxck out of him.
No...
He explained it plain and simple... He abused him as a child, he used corporal punishment... And as he grew he decided he wasn't going to let his dad treat him in a manner he wouldn't let a guy off of the street treat him, some before he put hands on him he moved out, out of respect... Who the hell wants to kill their own father
cdubb310 I was under the same circumstances

H Brewton, II Roys highlights are way better
+H Brewton, II idk man.. I think roy maybe was better but its hard to say
Ryan G maybe so, but you have to consider his opposition. I am a big Roy fan, but after his wins against Hopkins and Toney way back when, it got eh for a while. Probably ducked Dariusz Michalczewski.
Roy I understand you on a really deep level. I can remember my first fist fight with my dad at 13. From then on I feared nothing in life. Which was a blessing and a curse. Child abuse kills a soul. 12 years of my life behinds bars because I couldn't love myself because my family treated me in heinous ways. Jokes on them they are the bad people not me.
Anyone that's abused , you are not alone. Love yourself even when it hurts. There is no closure in abuse. There are bad people and good people no in between.
