It's a Bunad, traditional Norwegian outfit that's used all over the country. Each region has it's own version. They are only used for special occaions. That's why he said "Today" so much.

That's so right! I'm a fan of Conan, but I was annoyed by this interview. As @Spurz1985 said, it's all about the timing. Would you wear a Scottish kilt every day? He's saying "not today" because it's a "normal day". At May 17 everyone uses those clothes

The guy could of course told him "why", - but sadly Conan never asked him "why" 😆

He didn't notice the "Yes, today". 17th of may it would be perfect 😊.

Only in Bergen and the north are people that direct

I would say that Bunad is for us Norwegians as the kilt is for you Scottish 😊

It's a bunad. We use it on f.ex our national day the 17th of may ,- that will be this friday 😉 ....... or in a wedding or christening etc

I strongly suspect that Conan just got the most insulting responses and edited out the rest, because that was funnier. Of course, when Dagfinn kept saying "today," what he meant was that it would be quite appropriate on the 17th of May.

The name of the honest man is most probably : "Dagfinn" - no connection to neither DOG nor fishFIN! (my name, Swedish; is Lars, shortened form of Lawrence/Laurentius or whatever)

Conan came to Norway and did a "collab" with some Norwegian rappers. You should react to the song, it's in Norwegian but they have English subs.
I will put the name here after searching it up lol:
E.D.A. ft Conan O'Bryan - Velkommen til klubben (official music video)

He emphasizes "today" over and over, because it'd be completely fine on special occasions like the 17th of May or a wedding or something...

Why Bergen? Because it's the best city in norway!

That is a bunad, mostly woman use them in modern times, for weddings an 17. May. That's about it. There are many different designs and color combinations depending of where in the country it is from. :)

I'm pretty sure Conan already know what the outfit were. They probably warned him at the store... if not that, he had seen other people since he arrived, and they weren't wearing that.

I’m Swedish and I watched this episode. I like Conan but it got a bit cringy at times between Conan’s energy and the typical Scandinavian low key way of being.

I'm Norwegian and I dont rly see when he was insulted. The name-joke wasnt funny, and seeing a foreigner just strolling around with a bunad for fun on a random day isn't rly that cool, so anything he got was on the same level as he gave. No one I know particularly liked this show where Conan was in Norway, because he's too abrasive and its quite cringy the way he interacts with Norwegians. Maybe I'm just too uptight, but I see alot of the same sentiments in the comments here.
But I love your videos, keep it up!

No reason to read to much in to it in my opinion, Conan is American with a bit extra we know how he is :D I just smile when I see famous foreigner trying and displaying our traditions to the world. I think this is just what happens when - meets +
