Mr bird your last comment was spot on! Expand your horizons! When designing a board think outside the box! Literally not your fin box! That statement was for every surfer needed to hear!

In 1971 I was living at The Rincon Cliff House and I had a Cambell Brothers Bonzer number 100 everybody in Mussle Shoals wanted and did ride that board!

Great video. I lived in Cardiff when I was young and moved back there when I was old. I remember when Hansen's was in Cardiff, first shop for him. Birds Surf Shed is a natural surfing treasure. If you're in San Diego it's a must stop. He's a good dude too.. Now I'm back living in Thailand again and I get home sick when I see North County surf videos.

It was great listening to the board stuff while picking up log-boarding tips and getting amped to surf a shortboard in small surf with so much squirt!

The yellow fish board was prevalent around early 70's. I remember this guy from Florida won the Carlbad summer camp surf contest with one of those thick wide fish twin fins. This guy- Jeffrey Johnson, I think, could cut big hanging bottom turns on the thing. I got 2nd, there were three of us total. Hah-hah.

I remember the early 70s were dominated by fishes! Single fin and twin! It was a great time to surf especially in 75 when the monster from New Zealand came rolling in! Big rock was 35 ft! I'm sure you were out at wind and Sea! With Scott Cherry! And the guy with the whistle! I'll stop by to try to find that perfect Bonzer! Thanks!

Bird! Great show! Do you have a Mike Eaton Bonzer egg with flex fins? They're so fast the best bottom turn and better in huge big rock tubes!

That's like a David Nueva bored I seen him give up IUS championship at Huntington Beach to save a pigeon I was right next to him when it happened I think it was in 73 or 72 but anyway it's a different board to ride I tried it one time and I didn't like it but I like to 5 foot 9 swallowtail with a brewer Finn.

Yes I have to say that the thrusters are in my opinion a flawed system and the the Bonzer is so fast and made for riding huge barrels! They fly like an eagle!
