    I’m a young electrician, for the first time I went into a job today alone doing exactly this, and I was just nervous. Maoist likely because it was I wasn’t being watched over but when I finished I watched this video to make sure everything g was right you explained it so well that I smiled when turning the power on. God bless and thank you.

    That lid will remove with a large flat screwdriver. Just pry out the outside tab a tiny bit bu turning the driver.

    Hi Spa man.. Great Video. I have a watkins Hotspot thats been working great for years 4-5 ... the main 2 spead motor Wet pump went out and put water on motor of the 2 speed pump. I assumed that was what caused the breaker to trip... after research and finally buying a complete watkins 2 speed motor pump for $500 , i replaced it and filled tub... no leaks and everthing seemed great... I was able to get my 3 jet speeds or 3 levels of jets and was ready to leave it alone for the night to heat up from 50 deg to the 102 deg. but checked on it and 50 amp breaker was tripped... I could reset breaker and check everything again, but i just reset breaker and let it sit. at that point , i think only one pump comes on to curculate and the heater to heat... at that point, it tripped again . is my heater bad causing it to trip? Thanks Spa Man... your the best !

    Excellent Video, I have installed several of these over the years and I always come back to this video to refresh my memory before installing. I was wondering what the purpose would be to removing the filters prior to turning the spa on? Eliminate air gap or air lock?

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  4 года назад +1

      When you turn the system on you want as much flow as possible so you don't get an air lock... so you should always remove all filters and throw them in the water so they are wet and ready to go once the Spa is up and running for several minutes...sometime a dry filter will cause an air lock. Hope that helps and thanks for Watching & Subscribing.

    Nice video. My second jets were going off and on. Still on warranty so I called the technician.. He tested and said that was mostly likely just a bad switch on the other side for first jets but I can still use the tub until the part come in. So I started to warm up the tub, but I check on it later - no power to my control panel and the circuit breaker was tripped. So I reset the breaker and my wifey was like the control panel light flickered but off again. The breaker, however is not tripped. Several attempted to reset the breaker and only a flicker on the control panel. Now I can’t cold water and no lights on my “Hot Tub”.

    Hi. Excellent detailed videos, Scott, thank you. Always a pleasure to watch them. I have a question regarding a Beachcomber Management System SST-2. This has a Balboa Instruments circuit Board PArt # 54315-04. Everything worked fine except for one of the pump motors started leaking water at the connection to the pump, so I decided to buy a replacement motor with the pump attached. The motor looked the same as the other (not exactly the right part number) so I removed the cables off the old one and added them to the new one. They were White wire on top, Black in the middle and red on the bottom. I then tried to turn the circuit breaker on and it kept tripping. I put the old motor back and it continue to trip... I looked at the new motor carefully and saw that the pins were different to the motor I took out... Top pin of the old motor had Common, middle had High Speed and bottom had low speed, while the new motor High on top, Common in the middle and low on the bottom. The question is by plugging in the wires as per old motor could I have blown something on the circuit board?

    Great video! I have a question about a used hottub I just picked up. Everything works with the hottub except it won't heat. Upon inspection , I see the thermostat is not connected to the board. It's a 4-pin connector. One pin hole is plugged, but there are 4-Pins on the board. If the thermostat is not connected will this keep the tub from heating?

    Hi Scott, great video. I have a question regarding running cable from master breaker to GFI. I plan to run through garage roof then into crawl space. What 6/4 cable should I run? A shielded cable I can pull or individual wires through a conduit. The run is about 85ft or so. Thank you in advance

    Got everything working the way you showed. Hot tub ran and than stopped after a few hours. Not tripping breaker but starts than stops if I manually trip it off/on. Flashing temperature after pur cycle. It's a ZSpa 720 and I can't find error codes anywhere on the net.

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful. My question is regarding wires and conduits. Your videos shows using separate wires rather then one strand with all of them inside the insulation. Does it matter if you use a grouped strand or single strands? Also what should you put the wires in that run from the sub panel to the hot tub? Nobody seems to talk about that. PVC? Rigid conduit? Flexible conduit? Etc..

      I have found that I find more problems with a Grouped strand then with Single strand... When ever I have a spa that keeps tripping the breaker and everything looks to be in perfect condition and I can't find any other reason for the problem I go to the wires and quite ofter its the grouped stranded wire causing the problem. As for the connection from the Sub Panel to the Hot Tub ..I most often use what is called Seal Tight also called Liquid Tight and I alway use single stranded wire. Alway follow The National Electric Code as well as Local codes... Thank You for an Idea for a Video for the future and Thanks For Watching. And Please Like , Share & SCBSCRIBE.

    Great videos Scott! Thanks very much. Question: what type of wire do you recommend running from my main panel in my basement to my outdoor spa panel through my basement ceiling? I plan on 6 awg wire. I will use the thhn thru seal tight from sub panel to spa but should I use nm-b thru the basement from main to sub? Curious on your thoughts. Thanks.
