I've been enjoying the videos since I found your how to airbrush Vallejo paint one - I'm looking forward to trying the thinner recipe, and also the primers with the thinner. Many thanks for them and for the clear explanations. When it comes to some Tamiya decals, I had the same problems until I heard of a technique that starts with boiling water (just as you did), then uses Mr Mark Setter where the decal is to be placed, then a cloth soaked in hot water to press the decal down. After all that, as many coats of Mr Mark Softer to finish getting it to snuggle down. It is a bit of a chore, but it does work well.
Good video and a nice result. Yes, I have lost footage as well. There are times when I think I hit record, but didn’t. Or, I hit slow-mo! Natural metal is hard. I have to practice often to get a good result. Keep modeling….Drew
Hi, I bought it online from Ebay. I believe the company is in Czech Republic but they ship internationally and it arrived pretty fast. The stands come in wood or plastic, don't get the plastic one. It requires glue and constantly breaks. Here is the link to the store, they have bigger ones for 1/32 kits, etc. www.ebay.com/itm/155677652103?itmmeta=01HRDY4Q3RHHKXFK1PZJ9TH67S&hash=item243f1c7487:g:FgAAAOSwhwdjc~MZ&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwG21LqOGjBtlOlM66UGwhQQYI477NfG69MuEp8nnD7M03QPMpn%2BBQgLWhJEoBKzaO6Zy6byA1Czb8RBdb70REZj2JngIDMH%2B096Jxx7RsEHPh7VWKLxp6HAlK1LYQ601PytzJKY7%2Bv7I3XPp9pLrz5sMH8qB17BPBmEVwrgvcQUA8oJwzU0pzOcTYhEHmOaME8yFatX--9rT5S74hCh%2BA0b1Yl0VMxVlUNsjPoU9ntLebyuQ%2Fsb0ZCoR5e93HnmFVg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5Dykr7DYw
@@arewethereyetmodeling2196 Sorry, neither am I (51 xpertn) but from other Mustang builds and associated videos, the wooden floor was standard on the “B” and up versions. Again thanks for the videos. Comment definitely not meant as a “Gotcha”. Just a F.Y.I. Have to try your Vallejo thinner, love Stynlrez. O & O
@@jimbe01 No worries, I didn’t think you were trying to call me out or such. I’m glad you like video and if you decide to try the thinner mixture….feel free reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you, I’m glad you liked the videos! And I never knew about that trick. I’ll have to try it out. Always good to learn a new modeling trick.

what's the minimum wingspan/fuselage length this will work for? I want to use it for 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft@@arewethereyetmodeling2196
I believe that the Mustang”s utilized a wooden floor, not a metal one.
Jim, I’m not a P-51 expert. Some modelers told that it was the A version not the B with the wooden floor.

No firehose approach?😂
Tamiya decals like their customer service blows!🙄
Jman
Hey Jman, agree on the decals. But Tamiya customer service has always been top notch for me!
