This is the 'Holy Grail' of closed Walt Disney World attractions. I really hope they build a new version of this ride someday. Really great footage for 1992!
@Johnny Goodmeme NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Covering our past and how far we come is WAY more effective at instilling optimism in our future than the wild speculations Horizons presented that became outdated within only a handful of years. :( I'm sorry, I like Horizons too, but gutting Spaceship Earth would be a HUGE mistake. The immersive experience that let you up close to the figures that shaped our history is FAR more insightful than anything I learned from a textbook in school. Not only is it educational, but its sentimental presentation of the progress we've made can't be written off with cynicism, for it portrays TRUE EVENTS (well, sorta). Meanwhile the portrayal Horizons presents can (unfortunately) be written off as just baseless guesses with just a helping of cynicism. Spaceship Earth has got way more cred. :)
Can't believe someone in 1992 was able to get this good of footage. Brings back some warm memories of EPCOT from when I was a kid. It would be nice if they could "Imagineer" a new version so I could take my son :)
Bryan Werts If you see what they did to Maelstrom, you'll know they aren't going to do that. They only build attractions fpr popular films now. Such as Frozen that replaced Maelstrom. Or Avatar which isn't even a disney film.
Bryan Werts I love EPCOT, but it needs some serious TLC. Innoventions is a ghost town, Journey into Imagination is annoying, the Frozen boat ride has no business existing (and I still like the movie!), and it seems a waste of space for the old Wonders of Life pavilion to sit abandoned 9 months out of the year.
This was hands down my favorite ride at Epcot, my parents let me ride it over and over and over. It was the first time that I was able to wrap my head around the idea that things that seemingly outlandish things can become the norm in time.
Thank you so much. I think Horizons was the last great 'optimism for the future' world's fair-type ride. Disney and Universal rely on screen attractions too much now, I think it's because they're cheaper to produce.
This was my favorite ride. I was 7 when this was filmed, and I still remember when they closed it. I miss the old slow moving rides that would actually teach you a few things and gave you something to think about. Also I liked the carousel of progress music, it really tied magic kingdom and epcot together.
Fantastic video. Horizons was the embodiment of the EPCOT optimistic view of the future. People think it was naive, but I think we have lost that hope for a better future.
***** I don't think that is necessarily true. I think there's plenty of people taking about a bright future. It all depends on the company you keep and the people you choose to listen to. But our visions of the future have changed over the years. They always do for each generation. Change is ironically the most consistent thing in the Universe. Great video!
Quite possibly the most perfect attraction that Disney has ever had. It fit in so well with the park. Horizons was EPCOT Center to me. This video makes me both happy and sad at the same time. Thanks for sharing. The memories have come flooding back, as Horizons was a significant part of my childhood at Walt Disney World. I have no problem with Mission: Space. In fact, I like it a lot, but I wish they could have found a place to put it besides replacing Horizons. #RIPHorizons
I remember most of the horizons ride! I went in 92 with my folks and remember journey and cranium command as well! So sad horizons wasnt kept or at least turned into a new grand ride (maybe wall e wouldve been a perfect fit!?) 😭
I've never been on Mission Space, but 3 minutes into the video, it looked way better. Too bad the built the building over a sinkhole, otherwise it would have been here.
TuneBoy I would've rode Horizons over mission: Space, but like you said the sinkhole played a big factor. Also, after riding Mission: Space, I realized why it has such a short wait time compared to the other rides.
This was always my favorite at Epcot. What a waste to put a ride that doesn't need as much space there to replace it. It was a nice long ride the whole family could enjoy regardless of age or disability. I'd like to see Disney put this kind of effort into a slower paced ride again someday.
Was at a birthday party tonight and the birthday girls daughter who lives across the country skyped in with her husband and kids to sing happy birthday. We are living some of the futuristic things from Horizons! Cool!
What a wonderful trip down memory lane. The Early 90's was the best time for Epcot. I wish future generations could enjoy it with the same open mind and wonder as I did. Unfortunately with the new changes, that won't happen.
This ride was everything about Disney I fell in love with. Slow, smooth and lots to look at. A truly enjoyable & magical experience. Lost to modern high speed "wow machines".
Man this brings me back to being a kid again. This was my favorite ride at Epcot growing up. I've probably watched this a dozen times now. I appreciate the stroller down memory lane.
This used to be one of my favorite rides when I was a child. I'm 25 now, and seeing what EPCOT has turned into in many way breaks my heart. I miss these old rides so much.
Thank you very much for posting this. Disney management is slowly destroying what made Walt's dreams and imagination so exciting. I live 20 miles from WDW and go over every week. EPCOT needs attention and refocus on what the park was intended to be. Amazing how the Horizons attraction could open today and be for the most part up to date !!! The Space Shuttle section in this attraction, which at the time was on the Largest Omni Max Movie Screen in the World would make chills run up and down you spine when observed and coupled with the unique music. Again Kim, thank you for posting this.
I never visited Epcot until 2017, but WOW do I wish I could have experienced this, and so many other early EPCOT Center attractions. Thank you so much for uploading this, it's the best POV of Horizons I've seen!
Thank you for this! Just went to Disney this past week. I first went in 98 (at 8 years old) and 6 yrs ago in ‘13. This past week I could have sworn this was part of the Spaceship Earth ride and was disappointed that it wasn’t included anymore... of course my 8 year old memory has faded a bit, but this reminded me of that ride I thought was so cool!
Man this is like that ride in tomorrow land that takes you through all the past present and future. I forgot the name but that legit my favorite ride and this is just a bigger version of that. Wish i got to see this 😢
This was such a great ride. I was surprised when it closed down. This era of Epcot was a lot of fun, and sorry to see rides like this are only available now on RUclips.
Thank you so much for posting this. I've been thinking a lot recently about my childhood. I was an only child raised by just my mom. Me and her would take so many trips together. We went to Orlando 3 x starting in December 1990 (I was 10) and again in 92 and 94. I have so many fond memories of those times at Disney and loved loved loved Epcot and particularly loved the Horizons pavilion and ride. Experiencing this entire ride again as I sit here in 2020 really brings me right back to those times and I totally remember all of those future world scenes. Part of me truly misses those carefree days as a kid. If only I could just snap my fingers and go back 30 years and be right there sitting next to my mom on this ride again...
I was 7 the first time me and my family went to Disney and this was the one ride that my mom and aunt said I HAD to ride. We did and once it was over, I was begging their ears off to go again. And so we did.
I remember being so amazed by the queue and the lights on the walls as we left the ride. This ride is almost like a dream.. I barely remember it, I was so young. Takes me back!!
I'm among the next generation of Disney fanatics. I'm particularly interested in the animated films and the theme parks. My first trip to Walt Disney World was in 2002, just a few months befire I turned 5. I never got to see this ride. Thank you for allowing me to experience this. I've been looking for a decent quality video of it for a while now.
Aww, it's hard to think that those two kids at the end and many others who were on the ride are now young adults...that's how long ago this was. It sure left a legacy.
I miss this attraction. It was a nice ride to get off your feet for a while, and I loved that you could pick your own ending after visiting several amazing visions of our future.
This was THE ride to go to EPCOT for. This video teleported me to simpler times. Remember riding it with my brothers over and over again. I LOL'd because anyone who rode this knows you do Space, or ocean...in this Vid, farmland. Thanks for uploading :)
Wow. That was a bittersweet walk down memory lane. I visited this ride a ton of times in the years it was open- I was 23 when this was filmed- and this brought back fresh memories. Seems like it was just yesterday. Sadly, Epcot isn’t what it used to be.
This is by far the best looking video of Horizons on the web, thank goodness for Hi8, and it's so great that you filmed this while all the GE logos were still in place, it really feels like a trip back to "the good old days". If you have videos of the other classic Epcot attracions I, and I'm sure plenty of other people would love to see them -thanks again for posting this, it was really a nice thing to see
BudFactorE well you hear the soundtrack any number of places, but there aren't too many people on-line who know how to use a video camera that filmed the ride well, this early on. Most of the stuff on-line is several videos cut together which I think is kind of annoying to watch, but this is one smooth POV shot from inside the car, which for me is like being on it again
It occurs to me I didn't get this ride as a kid, but I always enjoyed it. It was so full of technology and promise of better things, I really did love it all those years ago.
One of the better videos of Horizons I have seen, the one thing I will always remember from this ride is the smell of oranges when we go through the farming scene. Thanks for sharing
I was born the year Mission Space opened so I never saw Horizons, but it looks a lot like The Carousel of Progress to me. I love seeing what people THOUGHT the 21st century would be compared to what it is
Thanks Kevin. I knew the ride's days were limited, so I purposefully wanted to capture the entire experience. Funny enough, this was way before RUclips. I had no idea I would one day share this with so many fellow Horizons fans. Ironic and very cool!
I don't know how I managed to miss this. My wife and I honeymooned at Disney a few years after this video was taken, and spent a large portion of that time at Epcot, but somehow never rode this. Thanks for sharing this record of it!
Thank you so much for posting this! Horizons was always my favorite EPCOT attraction. I'm glad the future is always moving forward, but I really miss the way we *used* to see it.
As long as there isn't any flash or external lighting they typically don't care, unless you plan on bringing something giant, but there wouldn't be much point to that today considering your phone or GoPro records in much greater quality than was possible with portable cameras in '92.
I have very fond memories of this attraction and even though it definitely needed to be replaced a part of me wishes it was still here to just see how far we've really come and be slowly trammed down memory lane 😅
I want to thank you for uploading this. I love the idea behind the ride and it's such a shame that I never got a chance to ride on it. It is videos like these that will preserve the history of this ride. Also, I find it surprising that they got so much mileage out of the monorail system. Guess it goes to show that you don't need speed to inspire.
Thank you so much! What's interesting is that this particular monorail system is entirely different than the straddle beam ones everyone knows. This monorail a suspended type, where the track is above the vehicle. Similar to Peter Pan's Flight monorail.
wow. i was never able to experience this ride due to me not being born yet but this video is such great quality and shows what i sadly missed out on. the imagination and visuals in this ride are stunning and i so wish i could’ve been there to experience it in person.
Thank you! I went that year when I was 8. Flooded with memories of an optimistic future past. The aesthetic expectations of the future have changed so much since then.
Also, in the past, everyone thought in the future (somewhere around 2015) that we would have flying cars, household robots, and more technology. Meanwhile, in present day, we can't even make an iPhone that's waterproof.
Thank you Mr. Pedersen for sharing this great video. I miss this ride, it was one of my favorites. I guess we will all be able to enjoy it anytime thanks to your video!
Great video. Especially for 1992. A ride very much missed. Wish it could be resurrected and still keep the charm . Thank you so much for letting us revisit this classic.
I really appreciate all the kind comments. Horizons was a favorite of mine, and I wanted to capture it as best as I could with my little Hi8 camera. Little did I know that some day RUclips would make it possible to share it with the world!
I loved this ride. I rode it once in 1989. It blew me away! As a 15 year old it just got my imagination going and I had never seen anything like that before. The production design on this ride was amazing. The set pieces and the experience seemed so real to me and I felt so excited about what the future was going to be like. 30 years later... wow 2019. Watching this video still gets me excited. Thanks for posting!
Very interesting! Never got to see this ride before it was shut down. The Hi8 is awesome! The quality is impeccable! That's why I had a Hi8 camcorder back then too. Thanks for sharing!!!
Some of Universal's hotels are now using them partly because of the virus crap going on. There are a few videos. It's pretty neat how they work. They bring your food to your room and you pay right there with your credit card since it also has a card scanner. Couldn't be easier. Heck, I'd rather do that than deal with Orlando's nutty traffic!
Seeing the entire ride in its original glory really makes me wish that I had a chance to experience it myself. If only it didn't close when I was a year old. For 1992, the footage looks really good.
Thank you! I loved this ride when I went there 1 day in 1994, but when I went back with my kids, in 2009, I thought it was the old "Spaceship Earth. Some memories I couldn't place. It was awesome reliving this ride.
I went on this ride when I was a little kid and was upset when I went back to Epcot in college that most of these original rides were replaced. Thank you so much for whoever recorded this in 1992! It's like a time capsule and a reminder of my childhood visit to epcot :-) !
I'm going to sub to your channel solely based on your description of this video. you seem like a cool old dude with awesome videos of rides from my childhood & I thank you for uploading them for people like me to look back on fond childhood memories.
I remember bits and pieces of this ride as a child. I specifically remember the chicken floating around, and a few other small parts. I do know that I thought the future was going to be super amazing, and that all that stuff would happen by the time I was 40. Only five years left. Make it happen world!
Epcot Centre must be the only theme park where everything was better when it opened and it just keeps getting worse and worse. In fact, I can't believe it is still open.
LOVE THIS!!!!!!! Thank you kindly. Horizons was always one of the best rides to go on when everyone was tired. You could just cool off, relax, and enjoy the ride & music. Always felt refreshed and energized after going on Horizons. Sure do miss it.
I loved and miss this ride so much! I just got back from Disney last week after a LONG time away and couldn't help but remember this ride. Thank you for having this documented for others enjoyment and memory sake.
I was there in '92, thanks for sharing this. I would have been 11 or 12 but I distinctly remember that when I got the 3 options I chose some kind of desert vehicle to get home.
Its a shame and very sad that Disney couldn't see a need to keep Horizons as a futuristic pavilion and show us what MIGHT be possible in the next centuries. This ride was very well done and complimented the ride from the World's Fair which showed us our past. I think Disney needs some different thinking in its enterprise. A lot of disappointments with Epcot.
+David Voros they got rid of the ride because of structural damage making it unsafe the building may have collapsed into itself i personally would have liked them to remake the ride but whats done is done 😞
that was a great ride , first time I did Horizons was back in 89 on a school field trip , I mean they can show what it should look like , but it's a hit & miss
My favorite pavilion in the old Epcot Center! Disney magic at it’s best! Today, it was replaced by that giant laundry machine called Mission:Space. Thanks for posting. Great memories, good times.
This ride is what gave me hope for the future! So many things came true, video calling being one of them, the genetic fruits, sending kids to college to become farmers (hipsters, LOL), drones! etc! Thanks kim!
Oh thank you for sharing this! Horizons was my most favorite ride. During a trip to WDW in 1997, I went to Epcot by myself for the day, and rode Horizons 8 times in a row. Every time I go to Epcot, I miss it!
I miss this attraction the most of all the extinct attractions. It just takes me right back to being a wide eyed kid watching this video. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video. This was my 2nd ever WDW ride back in 1993 (After the World of Motion). The greatest theme park attraction of all time imo, and my most missed
This is the 'Holy Grail' of closed Walt Disney World attractions. I really hope they build a new version of this ride someday. Really great footage for 1992!
Some would say "Journey into Imagination" is the holy grail, but both are really awesome.
its always about sponsorship and money on whether a ride will last.
iThemePark I think gutting spaceship earth and putting a ride more alike horizons wouldn't hurt
Correct me if im wrong but wasn't the ride in spaceship earth always like horizons?
@Johnny Goodmeme
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Covering our past and how far we come is WAY more effective at instilling optimism in our future than the wild speculations Horizons presented that became outdated within only a handful of years. :(
I'm sorry, I like Horizons too, but gutting Spaceship Earth would be a HUGE mistake.

I think wall e wouldve been an excellent new horizons ride... 😯
+ztslovebird
I was thinking wonders of life could have baymax as a new body wars and inside out as a new cranium command... 🙌
They should build an exact replica.
This was hands down my favorite ride at Epcot, my parents let me ride it over and over and over. It was the first time that I was able to wrap my head around the idea that things that seemingly outlandish things can become the norm in time.
I'm so happy you shot this. You truly captured a piece of Disney history here.
All that's missing is the orange grove smell!
Thank you so much. I think Horizons was the last great 'optimism for the future' world's fair-type ride. Disney and Universal rely on screen attractions too much now, I think it's because they're cheaper to produce.
Sunshine State of Mind @ 7:27-I can still smell the orange groves
You could go on Soarin' for the orange smell :D
We still talk about the orange grove smell!!! Such great memories- thank you for this!
This was my favorite ride. I was 7 when this was filmed, and I still remember when they closed it. Fantastic video. Horizons was the embodiment of the EPCOT optimistic view of the future. People think it was naive, but I think we have lost that hope for a better future.
Thanks kindly for the compliment. I personally haven't given up hope for a better future, now it's just not popular to dream out loud for one.

Exactly. Horizons was the essence of the future.
Never rode Horizons, but it looks a lot better of an experience I had at Mission:Space
I've never been on Mission Space, but 3 minutes into the video, it looked way better. Too bad the built the building over a sinkhole, otherwise it would have been here.

Horizons was great...at 7:35 They would actually would put out an orange citrus scent. Anyone else remember that?
Oh yes, it was amazing for sure. Not even a comparison!
I never got to ride it either bc i was born in 2005
I don't cry at many things lost in time to myself. but this made me cry. I really hope they bring this back exactly the way it was.
This was always my favorite at Epcot. What a waste to put a ride that doesn't need as much space there to replace it.
It was a nice long ride the whole family could enjoy regardless of age or disability.
I'd like to see Disney put this kind of effort into a slower paced ride again someday.
Agree!! It was a family ride and it was a lot of fun.
Was at a birthday party tonight and the birthday girls daughter who lives across the country skyped in with her husband and kids to sing happy birthday. We are living some of the futuristic things from Horizons! Cool!
Wow great video quality for a 1992 portable camera.
Thanks kindly Christopher. It sure would be neat if we could take a 3D Imax camera back in time though, eh?
+Kim A Pedersen If only they had low light cameras back then as well....
Sure would be were you using video 8 or hi8 or what kind of camera? It certainly blows away vhs c
Nice quality for the 90's. Sure do miss this ride. Was my favorite.
Thanks for sharing.
I bet it was top of the line back in the day.
Man, I miss the days when Epcot was great. It used to be the best of all the parks. Now… not so much.
With the Retro Decade Revival Project, Epcot will be the best of all the parks again as it was in the past.
I just went yesterday had an awesome time. I rode Soarin 5 times. It was amazing
Epcot is still amazing. Hope they do the Spaceship Earth reno well and leave Living With the Land alone though.
How come?
I concur 💯🥰
Man this brings me back to being a kid again. This was my favorite ride at Epcot growing up. I've probably watched this a dozen times now. I appreciate the stroller down memory lane.

I loved this ride as a kid. Every time I see my kids Face Time with my parents I think of this ride. I can still smell the oranges.
This was back in a time when WDW was quite educational and inspirational. Now it's all about promotion of their movies.
This was such a great ride. I was surprised when it closed down. This era of Epcot was a lot of fun, and sorry to see rides like this are only available now on RUclips.

This is what epcot was all about.i think its lost its way recently .thanks for a great video !
I never liked the Maelstrom ride, but a Frozen ride seems like it would fit better in the Magic Kingdom instead of Epcot.
Absolutely, still good but different. Don’t get me started on Universal Studios lol... Wow
I'm among the next generation of Disney fanatics. I'm particularly interested in the animated films and the theme parks. I miss this so much. I hope Disney can make more slow rides similar to this. With today's technology I think it would be amazing.
Favorite Disney ride ever. They will never top this one.

wow it was so good to go through the horizons ride again! I clearly remember everything I saw

One of the best rides created by Disney. Too bad today's younger generation will never get this experience. Thanks for the memories!
Bigreid92 My pleasure. I miss it too. Great, optimistic ride. Very Walt!
I'd love to see an updated version of this built for Epcot. Ironic that it's the old stuff that could breathe new life into this stagnating park.
Kim, we miss you. You did so much to spread the word of Monorails as a feasible mass transit system around the world. RIP friend.
My family took me to Epcot in 1985 when I was 12. It was absolutely epic to me at the time. Thanks for helping me remember.
I was born the year Mission Space opened so I never saw Horizons, but it looks a lot like The Carousel of Progress to me. I love seeing what people THOUGHT the 21st century would be compared to what it is
7:25 - the smell of orange blossoms.
Thanks for doing this for all of us. If not for this kind of footage, these closed experiences would be lost forever. You're doing good work!
Thanks Kevin. I knew the ride's days were limited, so I purposefully wanted to capture the entire experience. Funny enough, this was way before RUclips. I had no idea I would one day share this with so many fellow Horizons fans. Ironic and very cool!
We did end up in a very different 21st Century than the one depicted here, didn't we?
21st century still has a few years left, ya never know what we're in for! I like to think positive like Disney.
Couldn't say it better, "I really miss the way we used to see it." Thanks Jason.
were you the woman with the tripod camera filming?
That would be my wife, along with our boys.
ok good video, do they care if you bring recording devices at all?
As long as there isn't any flash or external lighting they typically don't care, unless you plan on bringing something giant, but there wouldn't be much point to that today considering your phone or GoPro records in much greater quality than was possible with portable cameras in '92.
I have very fond memories of this attraction and even though it definitely needed to be replaced a part of me wishes it was still here to just see how far we've really come and be slowly trammed down memory lane 😅
I loved riding this and imagining that I could live in space or the ocean! The ending was spectacular!
me too. I always wanted to live in sets that were in the ride
'I loved it', too! Great. I feel Like a kid again! Thanks for this great upload.
This was easily my favorite attraction in EPCOT. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks for documenting this great ride. This really shaped my career choice later in life.
Wow, that's intriguing. I hope the career choice was right for you!
119Agent what is your career choice?
Thank you Mr. Pedersen for sharing this great video. I miss this ride, it was one of my favorites. I guess we will all be able to enjoy it anytime thanks to your video!
Great video. Especially for 1992. A ride very much missed. Wish it could be resurrected and still keep the charm . Thank you so much for letting us revisit this classic.
I really appreciate all the kind comments. Horizons was a favorite of mine, and I wanted to capture it as best as I could with my little Hi8 camera. Little did I know that some day RUclips would make it possible to share it with the world!
Oh..and that moon face! Soooo strange and cool. I always wondered if WDW keeps the stuff from attractions in a warehouse somewhere.,
I loved this ride.
I'd love to go back in time with my GoPro! Thanks for the kind words K-Ranger.
It's the 21st century -- where's my robot butler?
in Japan
You just have to settle for a Roomba pushing dog poop around on your kitchen floor......
Embedded in your iPhone.
All the robot was doing was vacuuming so by a Roomba.
I was born in 1995 and was never able to ride this- what a treat it is to experience it here-Thank you!
Seeing the entire ride in its original glory really makes me wish that I had a chance to experience it myself. If only it didn't close when I was a year old. For 1992, the footage looks really good.
I was there, July 19 1992, i remember the date because its my birthday =) thanx for the video, bring me good old memories
Thank you! I loved this ride when I went there 1 day in 1994, but when I went back with my kids, in 2009, I thought it was the old "Spaceship Earth. Some memories I couldn't place. It was awesome reliving this ride.
I miss this ride! Would be awesome if they can open an updated modern version of this ride some day!
I went on this ride when I was a little kid and was upset when I went back to Epcot in college that most of these original rides were replaced. Thank you so much for whoever recorded this in 1992! It's like a time capsule and a reminder of my childhood visit to epcot :-) !
+juxtn Your welcome, glad you enjoyed the jump back in time. "Whoever" is the person that this channel is named for.
loved this.. i can still smell the scent of oranges.
I'm going to sub to your channel solely based on your description of this video. you seem like a cool old dude with awesome videos of rides from my childhood & I thank you for uploading them for people like me to look back on fond childhood memories.
I would rather ride this than Mission Space.. If you like throwing up, ride Mission Space honestly.
I miss this ride!!!!!!
Thank you for this video. It was a joy to remember and for a moment ....... to hope!
One of the best videos online of what was truly the greatest ride ever built. My eyes filled with tears watching this. I miss it so much. Thank you.
I remember bits and pieces of this ride as a child. I specifically remember the chicken floating around, and a few other small parts. I do know that I thought the future was going to be super amazing, and that all that stuff would happen by the time I was 40. Only five years left. Make it happen world!
No
Epcot Centre must be the only theme park where everything was better when it opened and it just keeps getting worse and worse. In fact, I can't believe it is still open.
This brings back so many good memories. Thank you for sharing!!
Patrick Anderson My pleasure, thanks for your kind words.
Remember this well. Thanks for posting. Best part of the ride was the smell of oranges.
LOVE THIS!!!!!!! Thank you kindly. Horizons was always one of the best rides to go on when everyone was tired. You could just cool off, relax, and enjoy the ride & music. Always felt refreshed and energized after going on Horizons. Sure do miss it.
This was like watching info films in class in the early-mid 80’s. Loved it!
I always wanted a living room like the one at 6:32. I really miss this ride.
Awesome video. It brought me back to the good ole days of Epcot. :-)
that was a great ride , first time I did Horizons was back in 89 on a school field trip , I mean they can show what it should look like , but it's a hit & miss
Great Video. Mission: Space will never be as popular as Horizons was!
That was awesome! I was able to share a part of my childhood with my husband. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite pavilion in the old Epcot Center! Disney magic at it’s best! Today, it was replaced by that giant laundry machine called Mission:Space. Thanks for posting. Great memories, good times.
brings back memories thanks for posting. I will never forget this ride. The audio alone is refreshingly haunting.
Love the "orange" smelling room! and the ability to choose where you launch to. I loved going through the tunnel of DNA.
I loved this ride as a kid.....back in 1992, I was 12. This ride and dreamflight were my favs!!
This ride is what gave me hope for the future! So many things came true, video calling being one of them, the genetic fruits, sending kids to college to become farmers (hipsters, LOL), drones! etc! Thanks kim!
I loved this ride so much as a kid!
I wish they could bring this back. This is a huge Disney's Classic.
I dont remember this ride been so long. But I really miss the 80s. Was that kid boarding in the back me? lol
