      TVR chimaera 3.9 V8 swap. They go straight in as they are a Rover V8 with some bigger tweaks. My father had a 110 G-WAC reg 3.9 V8 with a R380 on the TVR lump and you could get 100 Mph in around 3rd gear flat out. Bear in mind that this had different gearing on the diffs and a few performance tweaks on the engine. The engine had a high lift cam and a few small little bits.

    Enjoyed the facelifts on the Range Rovers but if it were my call I’d move them on and go all out on the Classic Range Rover. It would be great content for the channel and would generate a huge amount of interest.

    • @AndyMacinnes1
      @AndyMacinnes1 3 года назад

      Agree, give the classic some TLC and make it safe. If you're ging to respray it I would keep the colour or use something very close to it.

    • @ianashton886
      @ianashton886 3 года назад +2

      @@AndyMacinnes1 Thinking about it further I agree on the colour, would do a conventional but high end suspension set up and big brakes. As far as the engine goes I’d make it a beast, big block V8 but keep the look as stock as possible. For the interior I’d go with analog dials and switchgear and materials that will take punishment but are easy to clean. Am 67 now and these were a dream car for me as a youngster. If I had unlimited funds I’d take one of these built to my own spec over anything current.

Guess this gonna be a hell of work to get this old lady in shape again. Really looking forward to see the process of making it and how it will turn out.To make the car a bit more modern but leaving it classic basically is the right choice I think. 🙂👍

    My bigbrother had 2 of those old RR's in the 80-90's (Denmark), and they were wonderful cars. One of them actually saved his life when he was in a terrible carcrash. But he also had a 86 TD5 Defender, and I personally loved that very much!! You should take that old RR and make it perfect but still keep it oldstyle. I myself just bought a new Suzuki Jimny because it's a direct link to the old Defender (shrunk by 0.75%), and because I could never earn enough to buy a Defender - but I really do love my Jimny though :)

    So I Have been watching your content here in South Africa for a very long time and I really enjoy it. I am a Land Rover fanatic and tend to find this type of content very enjoyable, also my defender sometimes brakes and I look through your videos to see how I can fix it. 😂 I also watch your content to find inspiration and ideas on how to design my own dream Land Rover. You raised some concerns in your RUclips video about drifting into other Land Rovers instead of just focusing on Defenders. Now a Defender is by far my favourite Land Rover and to be honest my favourite car period. But, with this said, I love other Land Rovers too. I really enjoyed the Range Rover episodes because I quite frankly want to own one some day and I was sceptical of the body kit but it has started to grow on me. I guess the point that I am trying to make is that I enjoy the defender stuff but I really like when you guys move into uncharted territories and start experimenting with other Land Rovers because they each are special and we love them and to be honest you have done a lot of defender videos already. I continued watching your content because of all the new things you guys where trying to do and accomplish with the defender. So I don't mind if you work on the RRS or the RRC. Both are cool to me. However, my mother always taught me to finish what I started. So maybe finishing the RRS is not such a bad idea. Would just like to also add my own content ideas: Defender LS3 conversion. Defender 6x6 build. Rally defender build. Land Rover Podcast. Doing silly things with your cars such as racing, drag racing, 4x4ing and tog of war. And also I have a challenge for you guys. Can you make a freelander look cool.😂 Good luck. And thanks again for all the content. Cheers.

    I love the work you guys do on the Defenders, you never go over the top of silly with them. I am not a fan of the RRS but you have applied the same thought to them, nothing too in your face. Sam, your channel is great and I started watching for the Defender content, my own opinion is leave the new stuff alone, stick with the Defenders, maybe the odd Discovery? The RRC is very different proposition, would love to see you modernise it and stop the rust it and maybe future proof it, (please do not put air suspension on it though), I drive a soft face RRC every single day, but I have a 110 Wolf for the proper off-road stuff - looking forward to seeing your progress !

    If the RR Classic were mines I’d strip it down and put a galvanised chassis and completely overhaul the running gear suspension, brakes etc. Then fix any of the wee annoying interior issues. But I’d keep the body as it is outside. Leave any scraps and dents as they are. It just tells the story of the car and adds to its character.

    You keep saying it is a Defender or Discovery underneath, to be right the Defender and Discovery are a Range Rover underneath because the RRC predated both by over 10 years!

    TBCH the new project is a total mutt, so it will be really interesting to see what you do with it.

    A Classic Range Rover with Classic Range Rover problems. Oh yes. The newer cars are interesting but don't hold my attention in the same way as Defenders,Disco 1 & 2s or Classic Range Rovers. Keep the tyres on the Range Rover and fix it. You are going to end up with a great car.
