According to one of those seal team 6 members, the way they took out khalid was actually pretty interesting.
Long story short they were working their way up a stairwell, Khalid was at the top shooting down, so when he was reloading, from cover one of the seals says something twice, once in 2 languages they knew he'd understand. The seal said something along the lines of "khalid stop shooting, it's [insert courier name here]" and Khalid was so caught off guard, apparently they could hear him go "huh?", peaked his head around the corner to check and.... Pop... Khalid was taken out.

My uncle was drafted during the Vietnam War. He figured if he has to go to the Army he might as well go all the way. He joined the Special Forces and became a Green Beret and was quickly promoted to leader of his small squad. He was unfortunately killed after being there for only about 9 months. He was Missing in Action for 6 weeks. We didn’t find out until recently, that he was working with the CIA on crazy classified missions, and we only found out because certain things were declassified several years ago and someone who was there wrote a book about all these Top Secret Missions during the Vietnam War. We found out that my uncle was mentioned several times by name in this book and only found out about the book through a family friend that is a Military History Buff and loves reading or watching anything related to to it. I’m proud that he was a part of a lot of important missions working with and training South Vietnamese while doing what I call “ side missions”for the CIA that apparently no one in his squad even knew about.
While researching all of this for my family, unfortunately I found out way more than I wanted to about the circumstances surrounding his death, and the fact that the CIA basically took possession of his possessions after his death so they could be disposed of properly. I think that upset me just as much, because my family would’ve loved to keep some of his uniform, dog tags, etc. all we have left of him are pictures and all of his medals awarded to him after death. Besides his Purple Heart,💜 I think I am most proud of one awarded to him by the South Vietnam government ( basically their version of a Purple Heart).
We are very proud of him and we know it’s hard to train for any of these branches of service, and I respect them all so much, anyone who serves no matter if they are Special Forces or not. But I do know that we’d rather have him here with us.
    God bless them all🙏💕🫶🏼

The segment about the Rangers is about “Ranger School” that many members not from Ranger regiment could attend. it’s a leadership school. However, new soldiers assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment will have to undergo a selection process called RASP. Ranger Assessment and Selection Program. Then they will receive their scroll insignia for their left sleeve and the famous tan beret. Assuming they made the 50% attrition rate.

Green Berets are what are referred to as force multipliers. They are essentially instructors sent in to teach a local population how to fight. They can operate any weapon system, including foreign weapons. They are experts on tactics, including guerilla tactics. They speak multiple languages. Green Berets are typically older than most other special forces. You could send a 4-man squad of Green Berets into an area and a month later have hundreds of guerilla fighters.

I did some time in special ops, decades ago. Green Berets use the French pronunciation of Beret... like Bear-Ray... And I noticed a special segment on the Navy Seals. In the Early Days, (when I was involved, 1970) The hardest training was Seal Training, with underwater demolition, among the many things taught. Hell week was not exclusive to Seals, but the Bell you could ring was only available to those in Seal Training Proper. The other (very few) of us were not able to quit. It was truly, finish and live, or die in training. About one in three hundred didn't make it.

I noticed they didn't cover the other elements of Air Force Special Operations Command nor did they cover the Ranger Recon Company or the Intelligence Support Activity. For Air Force they covered the 24th Special Tactics Squadron which is their tier 1 element - but the tier 2 elements of combat air controllers, pararescue jumpers and others weren't talked about - they all have separate abilities that make them more unique then other special operations units. RRC and ISA are both tier 1 units in the army - ISA solely does intelligence gathering in support of tier 1 and 2 units. RRC does recon of targets to make sure the target is on scene as well as looking for escape routes.

One thing i learned that every unit sent out on a mission, one or more in the unit has to be fluent in the nation's language and also every unit has to have one or more medics. During the major training of personnel for these Special Forces, a secondary expertise has to be achieved.
Incredible and unimagineable to be tasked with becoming a special warrior.
There is also the ultimate commitment to the job. The cost of training must be in the six figures. Also extra incentives with bonus pay is offered for extremely dangers situations. Mind-blowing.
A Prideful Thank you to all these soldiers.

  • @TheLibraryChamber

Ok major correction. Going to and graduating Ranger School does not make you an Army Ranger. This is a huge misconception. Ranger School, though named for the Rangers, is an Army leadership school that anyone in the military, yes all branches, can go to and it is NOT a part of the 75th Ranger Regiment. The 75th Ranger Regiment proper, which is what this program should have described and like all the other SOCOM units has its own assessment and training wherein at the end, if you survive, you get the 75th Ranger Regiment Scroll and your tan beret. It is expected that every member of the 75th, does go to Ranger School, but that is not what makes them Rangers.

I was a US Force Recon Marine. In an age long ago, before restructuring and things, ie early 90s.
While I think the Seals are cool, lots of good people. Force Recon does all the same training, but we have a small advantage, we start off as Marines. You see Basic USMC Boot Camp is a lot more intensive than the other Branches of the US Military, then after you become a Marine, if you meet some other qualifications, and test into Force Recon, then you go through a whole lot more training and testing, then you get to do all the same schools as the Seals and the Army special forces as well. This is because the mission is that much more vital. Before Seal Team goes in to get the Glory there is a Force recon team with eyes on the target sending data back to Washington.

do you love that our government is sending our tax dollars to pay for overseas wars instead of helping its own citizens? because I think we could take a small fraction of our insanely huge military budget and put it toward basic human welfare, child programs, education, etc. but I guess our gov. prioritizes global imperialism over its own people.

I was in a nuclear weapns Security Police Squadron that had a simiulated battle with Red Cell the team that tested nuclear weapon security. We "won" but lost like 250 people and they didn't lose any of the 19 Seals that attacked. Their Command told us how good we had done and no one else had beaten them. We just looked at each other knowing we got our asses handed to us.

Yeah we got the best of the best. The landscape of America is very diverse in its terrain and all of them special forces groups gets people from all over the country people who specialize in particular areas. Like me growing up in the south in the woods I feel pretty confident in my skills and getting around in woodland areas and swamps like areas. An if I spent enough time up there in the Appalachian mountain range I could become a master of that too and that's why I like the state of North Carolina we got a little bit of everything besides deserts 🤣🤣we don't got those got to go to Texas or Arizona for that shit.

Delta Force, is the top of the top. SEALs are amongst the best but there is only one.
Delta, starts with a ruck march. 40 miles, also you are using land navigation. Which means, a compass and a map with coordinates. Multiple stops for new coordinates. That's stage one, did you hear me talk about other soldiers? You. 40 miles.

One of my good friends is a PJ (Pararescue) in the navy and his dad lives directly across the street from my dad's house haha. A few years ago we went hunting and he taught me how to shoot and site my scope precisely and how to factor in many variables like temp and wind speed. I shot my first deer directly in the heart from over 1 mile away. If we ever get invaded I would take out so many enemies from hidden tree stands.

Whereas Army Delta Force and Navy Seals may spend weeks preparing for a mission, Army Rangers train to perform any mission. A Ranger team may attack a compound, collect intelligence, and return to base in the morning, and then act on that intelligence with another mission in the afternoon. If you want something done in a week, you want Delta Force or Seals. If you need something now, you want Rangers.

17:26 It's not too rare to see the US fail. In fact I think it's incredibly important to expose our failures and not let them be buried by time and/or bias. It directs our growth but it also keeps us grounded as fellow people on this planet rather than pretending like we are above anyone else. We are powerful but we are not infallible.

All special ops teams are the best of the best. What team is used depends what training they have for what types of missions. It costs a lot of money to train Special Opps Teams. Not every operating needs a top tier unit, and not every unit needs to be top tier.
