Despite all the pain and suffering, I hope Az finishes this game someday. Just so we can see his reactions all the way to the bitter end.

For a grown up woman with a kid, (as well as an FBI agent!) Saga sure seems immature.

"Oooooo! Great job Saga! You're such a strong, intelligent, stunning woman of colour!" Who talks to themselves like this?😅

The only thing keeping me awake through this game is Az's commentary. 😅

Was honestly not expecting Az to keep playing after pt3. Game seems to just suck the soul out of him.

What about American Nightmare? (Never played it myself, so no idea if it was good or not)

For the love of god, who wrote this script? Surely not a human, because no human would talk, act or react like they do in this videogame...

The first game had a mystery/thriller-type narrative and the pacing to match that kind of story. It didn't have too many mechanics and they weren't that in-depth but the game introduced you to them so much quicker because Alan Wake doesn't waste time. In the many hours Az has played so far there's only been a few new guns, sparse combat with bullet-sponges and as far as I can tell, no significant advancements made in terms of gameplay. Even if you explored everywhere fully and collected everything, after this many hours Alan Wake 1 would be closing in on the finale by now. This game probably isn't even halfway done and it's still no more complex than the first game.
AW2 seems to want to be a thriller/detective kind of story but it's far too slow paced to thrill me and there is no actual detecting, it's just a checklist. You can't miss or misinterpret important clues, you can't interrogate suspects or cross-reference anything anyone says yourself and you're handheld through all the 'eureka' moments to the point that even Az who is utterly checked out of the game at this point is STILL making some connections faster than Saga.
There is no way to 'fail' the detective portions, meaning there is no engagement. Why bother using critical thinking when the game doesn't ask you to? Just slap the pictures on every part of the case board until the game puts it on for you.

Wow this games a drag.. thank you az for grinding through it... its nice to see what developers story is afterwards even if &£=_%# has been done to it.
Sad and intriguing to see where it goes.
Hang in there ...and feel free to roast it more... bbq anyone? 🤔😋

Made a serious mistake choosing the play as Saga I guess. I just popped forward from early stream 3 where the option was given to 'use the bucket to switch between Alan/Saga', but the 'let's just get her out of the way' has clearly turned into 'oops the whole game is her'. I guess they for some reason chose to make it not a required switch, but just one you could do whenever to literally play two different, independent story routes. Wonder if it was supposed to be a replay ability thing.
Or heck, maybe Alan's gameplay doesn't even 'complete the story' and you have to switch back to Saga. IDK, I'm just looking through Az & Mauler's streams at this point.

So this game has stolen from "In the Mouth of Madness", "Misery", "PT" and "Resident Evil 7". How original! 🙄

More like stolen from, disassembled with a hammer, reverse engineered while blindfolded, and reproduced in a Chinese sweatshop by children with palsy…

Watching gameplays of this one and the originals, and man, like the first one could feel repetitive because of the type of gameplay it has, but still i could get why the one playing probably would feel engaged. Plus the story, without being extraordinary, was good enough. In contrast, the story of this one is a drag, the characters are like carrying rocks around, and the gameplay looks inadecuate for the game.
