I love the subtle reversed roles of Caitlyn's parents. Her dad is the heart of the family, caring and nurturing while her mom is the more pragmatic and assertive one. They balance each other well and I find it endearing. You can see how Caitlyn has traits of both: her father's empathy and her mother's determination. (Note: I am referring to how genders roles are often portrayed, where reversals are played for comedy, often denigrating those taking a different role. Here they are reversed somewhat, but not as a joke or insult and like how it's postively portrayed rather than negatively).
At the end of the flashback scene with Mel when she wakes up, the headboard is a painting of the medallion in the beheaded girl's blood. She sleeps with that reminder above her every night.
@@andelain I'm happy I found your reaction before you finished! I knew nothing of League of Legends before seeing this (still don't), and I'm so glad for that fact. I feel this show is so much more powerful not knowing the characters. I'm a huge animation fan and Arcane is easily one of the best animated shows I've seen.
I love that in the game, which doesn't have a traditional narrative, Jayce is a kind of Tony Stark genius inventor and skilled champion, and then in the show his whole arc is like well-meaning guy constantly runs face-first into the wall of reality. His big scenes are stuff like, Jayce loses his nerve during public speaking or Jayce votes out his mentor, Jayce finally takes action but civilians die. The writers just endlessly make the right decision, or interesting choice with every character in the show.
Shimmer isn't keeping Viktor alive fortunately. Viktor needed hextexh to cure himself, (although Shimmer does have healing properties so it can be confusing xD). But Hextech destroys any organic matter it transmutes. Shimmer is only here to help Viktor survive that initial transmutation (because there's obviously an element within shimmer that allows people to survive violent transitions since shimmer can turn you into a giant monster and you can survive that transition, at least for some time), but it's not actually needed once the transmutation has operated. So if Viktor had successfully transmuted both his leg and lungs (which seem to be the problem areas, with the lung specifically being the ones killing him), he shouldn't need any further shimmer.

Whee! I love the flashback with Mel and Mama Madarta. She's a great character and her being here expands the world a bit more. Yeah, The doctor knocked Silco out to save him from seeing what he was going to do to her to save her life. Loved the whole fight with Vi and Jayce on the same side and the gauntlets are awesome. The music and action kick and then is suddenly stopped with Jayce accidentily killing the kid.And I didn' treally catch it on first viewing but Jinx was on the right of the screen in the shadows when the steam cleared in the last shot.
