Okay, some of you guys may not get why he's rubbing in the fact that he's actually filming in there.
Reason one: They don't let you take SHIT in there.
Reason two: If you are caught with something that you clearly aren't supposed to have, then your "privileges" are taken away. Seriously, I'm even shocked of how he got that big ass camera in there. Where I went, we couldn't even have our chapstick with us. My room kinda looked like that, but the beds were much less padded and they didn't look like hospital beds.

    • @tyttuut

Where I went music was fairly restricted, the bathroom door was a curtain held up by velcro, the three windows were basically one window about ten inches wide, and I couldn't get my Kindle in with the camera and wifi disabled by parental controls.

I was in one of these a few months ago. I tried to commit suicide. when I was in there I earned the name "quiet one" it took a long time for me to talk to anybody. When I finally did things got so much better for me. People act like going into one of these is a bad thing. It's not and if you need help then please tell someone. I am so much better now. I don't cut. I don't abuse alcohol anymore. and most importantly I don't want to die anymore. yeah I still struggle but the staff helped me come up with ways to cope with it. and also ways to talk to people. my relationship with people I love is so much better now. I'm glad I got help when I needed it.

I'm glad they treated you well. ❤️ I was on a children's and adolescent unit when I was taken away from my parents as a kid, and it was the most frightening thing ever. The most I was ever punished and 8 point strapped to a hospital bed and wheeled into a pitch black empty little "quiet"room was 72 hours. It was made of brick, with a hard floor, and one window on the door, 8"x12", but it was covered with a sheet of paper. It was so scary and confusing, and way worse than the family I was taken from. As a kid, I thought they were out to kill my family, saying my daddy was bad and going to prison for touching us, because at the time I didn't understand it was all that wrong. I don't know, it was just really really scary and has really scarred me. I suppose our situations were different.

  • @lovefitch

This mental hospital is 10x nicer than the one I was at. In my room, we had wooden cots for beds, no tables, no desks, not even a window to look out of and our bathroom was smaller. I know a lot of people are annoyed at him repeating how rare this video is, but he's not lying lol when you're admitted into a mental facility they HEAVILY search you, even strip search you--you can't bring anything in but the clothes in your back so the fact that he got a camera in there is beyond me. If he was caught with the camera he would've been in a LOT of trouble

i want to give everyone an update on this video........... i recorded this video back in 2010......i made sure not to show faces because of HIPPA regulations of the United States. Second this is a physch ward in a regular hospital i was here because of Anxiety disorder was getting to me so the rooms are nicer USUALLY in psych wards then regular actual state hospitals ...the State hospital i was in was terrible...Loud cold and extremely Jailish ...I got the camera in multiple hospitals because they were real chilled and never checked my pockets..... so i just brought in a gigantic camera I wanted to record what United States based hospitals looked like because not many people have ive seen a couple of videos but not many of Today's psych units also they are now putting people with mental illness in jail instead of a mental hospital because they are closing alot of them down around the states.... ans theres not enough room

Bri I felt the exact same. I coach football wrestling and teach gym. It was so embarrassing for me until I finally said screw it I have to get better for me and the kids. I took a leave of absence for a couple months and went to a mental facility for a week and it was the worst/best experience of my life. I needed it even though it was hell. I still struggle but nowhere near as bad. I'm working and coaching again and I'm so glad I made the decision. Just go for it. If you really are afraid of the social stigma try going out of town.

nerby How old are you? I saw that you replied to another comment of mine about how strict they are in the hospitals. Are they stricter with younger patients than older ones? And stricter with patients that were forced to go than they are with ones that just admitted themselves?

    • @alyssa6031
      @alyssa6031 8 лет назад +3

+bri it really depend on which one you go to really. i went to a short term and the average time is 3 days to a week, i was there for 2 and a half weeks. i think that might be the most layed back hospital there is but you get treated like a piece of crap. people were having anxiety attacks and they just sat there and watched and told them to get over it.. really hard to watch while i was there but it taught me how to look through other perspectives for people and all. i was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and was given double the dose more than usual. im just 14 btw

It's better than the one I went to. We weren't allowed in our rooms until it was bed time. If we needed something from our rooms we had to tell one of the nurses so they could unlock it. We weren't allowed in there alone without a nurse. If I had to use the bathroom they'd guard it. During the day we were only allowed in one room together with the other patients. Occasionally we get to go to the court yard. It was separated by gender. Our rooms only had a small bed, not even those good hospital beds like in this video. It also had two desks and chairs that were bolted to the floor. Our rooms had a bathroom in it which only had a toilet and a sink. The showers were on the other side of the halls. During meals we'd have to check out and check in utensils. The staffs were nice though the food was decent. Tbh I'm kinda iffy about if this video is actually real. Again mental hospitals usually won't let you be in your room at all. And how can you sneak in a camera? They check your bags and pat you down like a cop. They even made me put a towel around myself, take off my pants and underwear and made me squat to make sure I wasn't hiding anything up in there.

    • @ubeml06

That’s true. When my sister was seventeen she had to go to a mental hospital for awhile. I didn’t even know it was a mental hospital because I was very young at the time, being only seven or eight. It was actually a nice area and a safe environment, the outside of the hospital looked nice and welcoming. Everyone there is nice and they all are just trying to get through their struggles together. They gave my sister and other patients a notebook to write their feelings daily. And they have a little play area for kids such as myself in the main area. The hospital my sister went to really did it’s work in helping her.

I would NEVER make fun of somebody who is mentally ill, especially when I can relate to those specific problems. And YOU need to watch how you word things. "Ppl like him" there is no "people like him", he's a normal person who just needs a little help to solve a problem of his. Think a little next time before you comment, what I was saying wasn't even making fun of him nor anybody else. I found it funny how he said it was a "rare" shot and then next he was showing a damn toilet. For real lmfao, explain to me how that is making fun of him.

From what i know and have studdied, if you go to a mental hospital. It is still a hospital, a hospital must treat you for your mental and physical problems, the mental ward is for patients with mental health issues, Schiznophrenia; is catigorized as a physical brain disease. It is not classified as an actual mental disorder, it happens when the developement of a childs brain is damaged, ususally taking place at birth, but does not come fourth until the later teen and early adult hood. Although showing multiple mental features, Schiznophrenia is not a mental disorder. Unfortuatley the point of a hospital is to help rid of any illnesses, but for This disease medication cannot cure it, it is a life long disease.

It happened about a year ago. My dad was drinking lots of beers the night before and in the morning and when i refused to go to school because of bulling he beat me. The bulling was so bad people were hurting and punching me but i didnt tell any1. My dad then called 911 saying i was being unsafe and hurting myself and refusing to go to school. he showed him the marks on my body he said i tried to hurt myself but he hurt me! I tried to tell the officer but he wouldnt listen and took me to the er. i waited for about an hour until i was able to see some1. They talked to me and then my dad and he must of told some kind of lie because they kept me in a room with nothing and a horrible matress on the ground hard as a rock. They kept me in there for 2 days until they transported me to a mental hospital. There i had my own room with a hard as rock matress a shower and sing and toilet. I had a huge homesick problem so i was so sad at the time. Half the time we would do classes half we would just sit in our rooms. The classes included lunch and other boring stuff which i ignored but overall was very respectful to staff. I met a few nice people in the lunch though. I stayed in thier for 10 days and than my mom got back from her trip when i was able to get back home. I told her all about it and they got a divorce. It was the worst expirence of my life since i was only 11 at the time. I missed my bday at the mental hospital on my 11th bday. Sometimes i think about it late at night and start crying because of how bad it was.

I have multiple mental illnesses and my mom dropped me off and said I needed to be admitted when she found my diary and read it and found that I had been cutting lightly for the past couple of years. I was managing all of it decently until I was admitted.
Now I have PTSD from going there and they put me on 9 different pills that they forced me to swallow like physically forced. I came home and every time I would try to stand up I would pass out. I was rushed to the hospital only to find out that my body was shutting down because of the meds.
Now I also cut super deep and have gotten to the point where I really need stitches for most of them but I’ve only had a couple that wouldn’t stop bleeding so I just burned them shut. 🔥

Also, did you maybe try to talk it out with your mom ?

this isn't a mental ward, this could be any hospital room. which is how he got the cam or phone in there. First off when you enter the mental ward you are in isolation for 24 hours in a room with glass and everything on you is taken. you are stripped naked and checked and put into a gown or pajamas they give you and all your belongings are logged . After the 24 hour period you see the doctor they ask a few questions and you are free to mingle with the other patients on the ward. sometimes they will give you your clothes back but never ever any electronics or anything like shoelaces .

I wouldnt let the cop and nurse and hospital security touch my ass as I was bigger than any of the little cop people at the place. If they were going to force medical services on me without a warrant, not only is there going to be a lawsuit, but one hell of a fight if you think a needle hater like me is going down without a fight. No strip search and nofrisk for my civil rights violations.

I’ve been in a lot of mental hospitals as a teen . And this is exactly what they look like . Some hospitals might have no desks , some have up to three beds , some hospitals have carpet . But the beds look exactly like the one next to the window . The rooms are very very basic . They make sure that there is no way you can hurt yourself . And the showers vary from hospital to hospital. Most of them are one temperature. Some have a button you have to keep pressing for the water to come out . so that the staff know you’re still alive . I hate mental hospitals. They’re just nicer jails honestly .

Once the stigma of mental illness is calmed it will be more highly acceptable. Take it from.me if you think you could use the help you definitely need to go. Be selective but go!

They wont commit you unless you've proven to them that your an endangerment to yourself. No reason not to go. It's obvious your crying out for help. Go grab it you need yo get diagnoised and treated immediately before it gets worse. Please do this for you. You deserve a happy life worth living

the hospital i was at didn’t even have anything with an edge. the corners of the desks and cubby holes in our rooms either had slanted tops, rounded edges, or were up against something like a wall so you couldn’t use it to hurt yourself

Just looks like a regular hospital minus the medical equipment in each room. Very similar to what most hospital mental health floors look like, just with a few safety measures included...if you were wondering.

I've been in a Psyche Ward twice, once by choice. I was stripped of everything and my possessions secured. Visitors are searched and very little is allowed in. I couldn't even bring my friend gum. Outside food and beverages are not allowed. There are NO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS. I was in the ONLY room to have one for my CPAP machine and I was supervised from 11PM to 6:30AM when I was forced awake. Get a grip. This is fake.

This looks a lot like te one I stayed in, but we weren't allowed to close our doors. They had to make us remove our clothes and check every inch of our body and clothes. We can't open our windows, we can't have shoes with laces. The hall monitors checked in on us every ten minutes, if we weren't in our room, we were in group therapy. We had no second floors, because we could jump out somehow by breaking the glass. the soap dispenser wouldn't be allowed. Also no screws or nails were allowed in our rooms, the furniture was glued with some really strong stuff

Just go into the hospital and there should be a front desk and you just ask to sign yourself in and they give you paper work once you fill out the paper work they give you a room and your good to go oh and you have to be 18 or older to sign yourself in and out

I remember watching this at a time I was being prone at going to the hospital by the end of 2014. I ended up at a mental hospital in 2018 due to my mental well being fucked by Silicon Valley Elitists. I do have footage inside the hospital but I also had the phone I recorded with confiscated twice and I was really nervous when it happened. Most footage survived except for the main hall one I had to delete. I remember the time wanting to go home and the days I never went outside.

Awe man you're lucky. The mental hospital that I go to, the showers aren't in the room. They're outside of the room. There's only about 12 showers so everyone has to take turns.

You're not supposed to have doors for the bathroom but curtains, they made sure of that in all hospitals. Though this could be a private one. Being that they take all of your belongings, jewelry, basically anything on you.

This is so real though, like people think psychiatric institutions are all people screaming, white walls, and straight jackets. More people need to understand that it's a normal hospital with just some precautions taken for safety

We didn’t have a desk, nor did we have windows. We had one to two beds and the sink was in the room, there was a separate room with one shower and a toilet. We weren’t allowed to shut the main door or the bathroom door even if the locks somehow worked. If we tried to do anything to hurt ourselves they would give us a night gown and we had a guard right in the door way. We didn’t get to leave the room if we were on lockdown, they gave us three meals in that stupid room. I mean if y’all have any questions I’ll answer them.
