That is such a trip. Child of their child manifested a useful everyday utility item . After decades of the original kitchen bench phase of her life, you manifested it for her reality. That's some good shit bro.
Beautiful Island. More beautiful because it was made out of love and the dedication you wrote was so sweet. I’m gonna make my husband watch this and make me one just like it.
So sweet of you to make this for your grandparents. Awww. Sweet doggy! Holy cow, she's 83 and can swing an axe better than I ever could. I'd never hit my target bc my hand-eye coordination sucks! I suppose a glossy coat of poly over the paint might help. That's what I did with my friend's cabinets when I painted them. I wish butcherblock countertop was that cheap where I live. It's over $100. But prices have gone up since this video. I used that same poly on my friend's cabinets. LOL. Aw. Cute kitty. I have the same type of flooring in my kitchen. Those parquet tiles are pretty but its a mess when they start to fall apart. I'm glad to see how much your grandparents enjoyed it.
Phenomenal! And you added your Gma’s surprise which we all appreciate. So glad you implemented her cook book space as that’s often left out in modern cabinet builds. Very nice and I hope you build more 👍🏼
So glad to you see you back. You're a very accomplished wood worker in addition to being quiet the comedian. I will never forget your gluing tutorial. . I laugh evertime I think about it.... and your famous last words "what could go wrong?" before you adventures. Hope to see more vids.
Gday Greg, long time no see! It's so cool that I can go months without posting and still come back and see a familiar face! 😊 I think we have a very similar sense of humour!! It's these kinds of comments that keep me motivated, cheers mate! 🙏
What the??? Literally did a double take (hit rewind) when you said “83 and still swinging an ax”!!! That’s amazing! I realize it’s 2 years later, since you put out video, but that ax swinging technique was pretty solid a couple years ago and I’m sure she’s still swinging away!
Nice project. I like the simplicity, and the liberal use of glue, especially for a mobile unit that may move across uneven surfaces. One thing, is poly food-safe? It's pretty toxic when wet, but I hear it won't leach chemicals once dried. However cutting into it can cause pieces to chip off into the foods. Oiling is the norm, albeit it needs more maintenance. Plus its easier to sand down to refresh the surface every few years.
Well done. That looked so easy.. I need some more power tools. Fabulous. And I'm very sure from the video that your grandparents are extremely happy. I love working with wood..when I get the chance. My Dad was a French Cabinet maker.
Loved the Wallace and Gromit comparison! That was my first thought when I saw your grandfather shaking his hands, and then BOOM, you posted that clip lol Nice build by the way. Looking to build something similar for my small kitchen
Am soooo loving your work and am going to be making one myself by watching your video over an over again but first I gonna buy up all the materials am gonna be needing but I have a saw and 2 grills just needed a sander or maybe am going to buy sand paper instead.
This is like an ikea furniture instructional video lol. They just give you the raw wood and let you have at it. Side note, I would proba ly do it this same way lol
Well your pen didn't work so that should have been the end of it. lol. Wonder what happen to that woman that said there couldn't be a island in the middle? Wonder if she is still around or not. You really need a playlist.
This is the first text I saw you video, all is well good work and all that but a bit of advice son, "single and ready to mingle"??? not all that glitter is gold dont hurt yourself by being a busy boy with too many young women there is a lot of STDs out there! Have you ever been to church son? If no, then pay a visit to a nearby church someday it WILL add to you life! Take care of yourself son!
This is the best thing you can do ever to make your grandparents HAPPY! its fantastic feeling.
Looking out for grandpa and grandma.A fine example you set for the younger generation. 😊
I love that she's chopping firewood! Reminds me of my grandma. ❤️
Granny’s love for the island is truly priceless. Josh you will have fond memories of your gifts of service for them long after they are gone.
