Important safety tip: Even with the suspension hanging unloaded there's quite a bit of force being exerted by the strut on the control arm. When you're separating the lower ball joint stud from the arm, always thread the nut back on partway after you've broken it loose. That'll keep the arm from popping violently off and possibly throwing the separator tool at you and injuring you.
you probably dont care but if you're bored like me atm you can stream all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf these days :)
Thanks for the video. I personally wouldn't put the ball joint removal tool directly on the ball joint stem. I've mushroomed a ball joint that way. A nut installed flush with the end of the stem is more foolproof. I like the old trick to pop the ball joint loose that involves jacking up the assembly, inserting a ratchet handle in the space between ball joint and the lower arm then lowering the assembly.
I have a 92 accord and my lower balljoints did not need a puller or hammer I used a jack to compress the suspension and slid a set of vise grips in between the knuckle and lower control arm and lowered the jack The spring popped my lower control arm out
very good and descripted video. so the question on how you got that hidden bolt in the back on top of the trans mount. Im in the middle of doing it now and I feel like I tried everything, but nothing and in the video it really doesn't say how you got It.
I have a 94 Honda Accord we just put in a new used transmission after the old one quit after 400,000+ miles. The first problem was leaking transmission fluid& it shifted fine we drove it home & drove it back to the shop, got to the shop & had a leak in the Axel seal changed it and it still leaked found out we needed new cv axels & changed them, no more leak. But now when the car warms up & we drive it for about 5-10min it stops shifting & just revs up reverse works fine though after it warms
Great video a workshop in NZ selling used manual transmission offer to fit for and extra $200. Money well spent I think but thanks for the great video!
Great videos. You might want to thread the ball joint nut on flush with the end of the ball joint stud before using the removal tool so you don't damage the stud.
Bent and broke a few things trying to get the axle nuts.. tried heat but propane is not hot enough.. tried 2 impacts then paid someone with a real impact to get em.. took them 30 seconds
i need to change the transmission on my '93 buick regal with the 3.1 engine.i guess it would be pretty much the same.i couldn't find a video for my car.what about electric power tools from harbor freight. would they be strong enough to do this job.
Instead of putting the tire back on to remove the hub nut just stick a screw driver into the top of the rotor, turn the rotor until the screw driver hits the caliper then loosen.
Some of those nuts are tighter than billy-hell. I have had to use a 3/4 breaker-bar with a cheater bar AND had the car down AND chocked AND had to have a guy push on the brakes while I pulled on the cheater-bar ('93 Accord)
@HondaHowTo1 no prob I did and just to let you know i go it taken care of only thing is now i got to get the atts stuff off i'll ask you about that on the facebook group page.
I'm having the worst time trying to pull the driver side cv axle off it just wont come out of my 99 prelude its probably because of the atts bull that is all there in the way but what can i do i've tried a strap and a pry bar and it barely budges i think i got it to move out just a little bit but i can't really tell. any help or info or best would be a video would be helpful plz help.
Lol, more than 2 years after the video uploaded, an advice that you have oil leaking from the oil filter. I'm sure that oil filter changed so many times already and that leak long gone.
Yea it wont start at all now somebody was saying that my timing is off because my timing belt is frayed a little bit. But my car is an automatic and it should start even if the transmission is gone right?
I have the b 1991 ex auto when im in town i hear a whine or whizz like sn old electric golf kart sound and the rpm slightly goes high to 3 then it feels not a smooth as it should.
The video explains well but just the viewing are that you show does not really show where exactly you are working on the car if your going to make a how to video you should show a better view of the vehicle and explain where exactly you are working on the car because you are too close to the parts your working on to see where the parts are located under the car

This video is priceless for us home mechanics ..thanks fixbook, you helped me save $855.00 ...the accord now shifts smoothly as it should...Canada..

@Thiago Joshua Yea, I've been watching on instaflixxer for months myself =)
you are the only one who mentioned the total number of bolts taken out of the transmission... thanks

Thank you so much young man, I could have bought a manuel, but you pretty much explained everything that I needed to know.
Thanks for detailing the ball joint separator stuff. I almost give up.

Thank you for being on it with where those bolts suppose to be at!

Good job man it seem like you got a good handle on it even from working on the ground

Thanks dude. Awesome video
What is that bar you took out at 10:25?? The one with the 17 mm nut?
Is that the same procedure for a 1999 Honda accord?? I really love your videos they r very helpful!!.
Great video! But what if all the bolts are out and the transmission will not budge?
GREAT VIDEO MAN!KEEP IT UP:)

How many hours did it take u to do?
Bent and broke a few things trying to get the axle nuts.. tried heat but propane is not hot enough.. tried 2 impacts then paid someone with a real impact to get em.. took them 30 seconds
Do you have to remuve the bolts from the flywel to the comverter rigth?
hi great video

Will this tutorial be similar to 97 accord?

Did u pull the engine out
Does it is the same for 1998 Honda Shuttle (Odyssey) 2.3 V-tec?

I'm having the worst time trying to pull the driver side cv axle off it just wont come out of my 99 prelude its probably because of the atts bull that is all there in the way but what can i do i've tried a strap and a pry bar and it barely budges i think i got it to move out just a little bit but i can't really tell. any help or info or best would be a video would be helpful plz help.

i have a 94 accord that stalls when i release the clutch pedal i think its the release bearing. im buying a clutch set do you think its that?
I have the b 1991 ex auto when im in town i hear a whine or whizz like sn old electric golf kart sound and the rpm slightly goes high to 3 then it feels not a smooth as it should.
408skills. sounds to me like that transmission is on its last legs
will this work for a 97 prelude ?
Anyone knows how to install all external components of the engine?
Sorry if my english is bad.
Yeh
why dont you guys work on integras? Makes me sick of having integra tbh
Where'd you learn to do all that?
@HondaHowTo1 is the 3rd video getting posted at some point....Please
I have a Honda civic my transmit hose busted how do u replace that
If it's automatic and you put fluid back in, make sure you use HONDA transfluid...
I think I replaced mine with mercon3 from walmart. Seems fine.
How in the hell did. Take off those last 6 bolts after you took off the fly wheel guard?! I'm pretty much slumped at that part.....
can anyone tell me the transmission cable location on the transmission end for a 01 v6 accord. thanks
can't find part 1 or 3
Darn it, wheres part 3? I wanted to see the transmission actually come out and how you do it.
my transmission was slipping and then it wouldnt shift then it wouldnt start now it works if i drive it at low rpm's. could it be my computer?
thank you... didnt see that top bolt underneath, next to the motor mount cuz my buddys car is covered in greasy now i know and stage 1 is goin in
more light would be nice!
How do u install a dip stick tube on s Honda accord
How to stop a leaking dip stick tube on a 98 Honda accord
Knuckle 😂 love it
Where's part 3??
IT'S ALOT OF WORK!!.. I TAKE EVERYTHING OUT EVEN THE ENGINE UP TOGETHER..
I like your advice. Im about to rebuild engine. Looks like pulling transmission out at same time makes sense.

The video explains well but just the viewing are that you show does not really show where exactly you are working on the car if your going to make a how to video you should show a better view of the vehicle and explain where exactly you are working on the car because you are too close to the parts your working on to see where the parts are located under the car
He’a doing the work AND filming, how bout you try and do the same with better results?
