Trevor Noah is one of the few men I never felt bad about... It's so weird to actually watch a man on tv respecting women, asking real and good questions and validating her fight...
As a “conservative” I really don’t understand the whole LGBT debate. They are all human beings that aren’t bothering anyone. I think that you should be able to do whatever you want and love whoever you want without being scared or harassed. I may not agree with their choices but it’s “their choice” and we should leave them the fuck alone.
Telestoe really wish more “conservatives” were open and allowed people to live THEIR truth and life as they please without hate and violence like you! We don’t have to agree on everything but human rights are for all humans
Telestoe yes!!! Its not hurting anybody and it does NOT affect you. (Btw, as a pan person i can confirm its not a choice. Just wanted to say that. But thank you for sticking up for the LGBTQ+ community. Have a lovely day.)
Gabby N - “choice” was a poor word. I should have used slightly better vocabulary. I just hate bigots. None of us lead perfect lives, if we were all just a little more kind to one another we could get so much accomplished.
She is a a goddess, can we talk about the ease of which she holds conversation, the beautiful flush on her cheeks, her incredible analytic skills, THE WAY SHE MAKES ME WANT TO CRY AT HER FEET, that bomb dress
Why is it so important to cite your sexual credentials in order to express love for a show? That's where the problem lies brother, just love stuff unconditionally.
@@iemon7722 Eh, it does matter though. While it's fine for a body of work to have a very niche consumer base, it's always worth it to know who is consuming what media, especially when it isn't the assumed or intended audience. Beautiful woman, and wonderful to work toward opening ppl's minds, and stopping the horrors put upon trans ones. I must say though, I don't like that not-trans ppl are referred to as "cis." It brings to mind "hiss" and just the energy of it seems negative. It's almost like it's labeling all other ppl as being the enemy or something. Clearly many are, but don't put us all in that camp. It's like all the rest of us did something wrong, so in need of this new label. Why not just reference others as, um, other ppl or simply non-trans ones.
"Cis" and "trans" are just Latin. Don't you like the sound of the word "white" either? Should we call "white" people just "non-Black"? That would be extremely confusing. Btw, I don't like it when people talk about energy of words and other esoteric bs. Makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.
F*ck you. Better? Heh. Btw, what are ppl called that aren't albino or dwarfs? Whatever stupid response you have to that, you're wrong. It is the same thing.
Omg, what have I done? Critizising your choice of words, just bc they sounded strange and unfamiliar to me personally, was very condescending. I didn't even consider if there might be a reason why you're using these words before I dismissed them. I judged solely from my own point of view. I should have accepted that other people might have others, based on their own experiences. Who would do such a thing? Only an idiot. I owe you an apology bc that was very hurtful and mean. No one should be so self-centered to dismiss other people's opinions before knowing a bit about why they have them. I am so, so sorry.
Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. You were probably having a bad day, and that's why you rabidly attacked me for no reason other than my simply expressing my opinion. "Idiot" is pretty harsh, but then again, you totally sidestepped my counter to your attack (dwarf, albino), so I can see how you would feel like an idiot. Ya' know, in that you haven't a clue how to respond to that very valid point/question. Have a great evening, sweetie ;-)
Oh, thank you so much! You really don't need to let me get away that easily. If other people get hurt bc I'm not only ignorant but also totally ignorant of my own ignorance, then I should be at least a bit ashamed of my behavior. It's just not right to be this hostile about a topic I'm not really familiar with. I'm afraid, you're right about me not having a clue. I'm not very familiar with the social implications of people who are suffering from height discrimination or who are persecuted for their albinism. I know that people with albinism are murdered or r-p-d in some countries but personally I've only listened to some Salif Keita songs and seen a few Victor Varnado clips and didn't get his humor, that's it. I'm definitively not qualified or able to answer your question about it. So sorry. I've a distant friend who has dwarfism though. We always talk about board games and aloholic beverages (or we just play and drink together, obviously) but maybe I should ask him someday if he'd like to talk about me about height discrimination and if I could be unwillingly contributing to it. Or I'll just search the internet for articles in which people with dwarfism or albinism describe their experience. I'll never have first hand experience about these kinds of discrimination but reading about it from different people might give me some clue about what I could do to make this society better and more accepting towards minorities. So learning about height discrimination is way easier for me than learning about discrimination of people with albinism. I'll definitively try it next time I meet him. I mean, dwarfism and albinism are currently listed as congenital disorders, so technically the shorthand term "tab" would be an antonym to both in most contexts. I'm not really sure to which extend people with dwarfism and/or people with albinism are part of the disability community bc I'm not really a part of it myself. I gotta ask them nice and friendly, I guess.
tradition is just repeated behaviour and all of history is important but the more we know about other people that aren't you is valuable, if this history was teached in most schools we would have alot less racists and prejudice filled people in our society. Sorry if you don't see the same value in that knowledge.
Don't Trust Rainbows You're letting the present change the past. Just because transgender people are becoming more important in society does not mean they have always been. Transgenders were often shunned in the past. You should tell that history and why it happened back then(and why we now think it's wrong).
(ok yet this msg displays yet the previous 1didn't for me, good job YT) i think the present is the most important with historys role being in the case of human history to show how attitudes have changed and the reasons behind conflict, that is why i said its a big part, not of the entirety of history but its role in the present. And i never said they have always been this important but as a trans person i wouldn't have had decades of mental trauma (well not as much atleast) if i was told even just the basics of trans history and gender identity, im pretty sure i would have felt more comfortable in my own skin. Different parts of history are worth more to some than others. tbh i dont think either of us is strictly incorrect.
The only guy in tv i remember being who i could connect with was danny fantom idk why im a biracial gay trans dude and danny definetly wasnt that but i still saw who i was and who i wanted to be in him.
My only hang up with trans people is which pronouns to use. I don't pretend to understand 'em, but I don't exactly _have_ to. 🤷 I don't understand quantum physics _either,_ but I know it _works_ and that's good enough for me. Same deal.
lazyperfectionist1 when it comes to pronouns its best to observe what the people they're surrounded by refer to them as, use "they/ them/ theirs" until you figure it out, or simply ask them (if it's appropriate). Just use tact
Just ask! 😃 If you get someone's pronouns wrong they aren't going to hate you forever and leave it up to some guessing game. If you ask them what they would like to be called, you can call them that, and if they decide to be called something else, you can do that too
It's really just about respect. You aren't lawfully obligated to call someone by their preferred pronouns but NOT doing it just makes you an asshole and deserving of scorn.
Jo March I mean technically it's no possible for trans people to be as old as time since for trans people to exist there'd have to be people first and they took quite some time to develop....... WAIT! I'VE CRACKED THE SECRET, TRANS PEOPLE ARE THE I MORTALS WHO CREATED OUR UNIVERSE!
Growing up as a cis, white, gay male in North Dakota, couldn't be more excited and proud to learn that she married my 2nd cousin. Bringing a new light to the family and to the nation. So important.
the wonder woman thing makes me wonder charlie's angels had fight scenes Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li this movie was so badass too and without even superpower and a lot of female heroines that has action and power so why wonder woman has all the credit this is really unfair for the mainstream to discard the other works like that
There is nothing new on this planet trans or not every person thinks the same shit yes or no agree or disagree.imagine dj Khalid train for 2years still looking the same this is what we should be talking about guys
> A show about trans people made by a trans person :D ! > "Five transwomen..." ... :( ah. I guess transmen will just be over here, still invisible and totally unrepresented even in media created by trans people for trans people. The way she talks about really wanting to show trans people's stories makes it sting too, like "trans people" is just a synonym for "transwomen". If you've seen the show and can tell me if there are any transmasculine side characters please let me know, I would love to be wrong about this.
Sometimes I get too scared to date but know more then ever I say fuck it cause it doesn’t matter trans gay bi lesbian whatever it’s always the same outcome:Good sex. 🤷♂️Screw it right.
Wow trevor you really need to tell your female friends that wonder woman was not the first film that has a woman kicking a man's ass... Thats a really weird thing to cry about 😁
Jefrey Valencia Well ofc it wasn't but it's one of the first big picture movie for today's generation with a strong woman kicking men's asses. There isn't a lot of media rep for women like that. Tbh off the top of my head Kill Bill is the only strong cinematic female lead that physically kicks people's asses. People cry when they get emotional and it's a thing of relief. I know I cry every time I see lesbian representation because it makes me feel valid.
I've seen plenty of lady leads in ass-kicking films but I can share my personal story on why Wonder Woman and the no-man's land battle scene made me cry. I've been a lady nerd my entire life, raised by the internet, played Japanese RPGs, read comics, played DnD, etc. I'm also at an age where I've watched and enjoyed the rise of superhero blockbuster films and their role in making my interests and hobbies more mainstream. I actually don't like the DC franchise (prefer Marvel) for the most part but I wanted to see Wonder Woman because I wanted to see myself on screen. And when I saw her being a beautiful valkyrie, I cried for all the little girls who will see this and see themselves in her too, when I had never experienced that validation in my tomboy childhood.
So odd for Mock to say she's authentic compared to cis straight women (and she DID, rewatch if you missed it) when they are sitting there with fake hair, fake boobs and a surgeried face. I understand the point they were trying to make, but the swipe at XX's wasn't necessary. We can all be great without the shade.
SAM MULLER gosh.. I could have sworn you were some first world internet culture white boy getting your kicks out of playing armchair nihilist troll. Sheesh, glad to know your a doctor! Lmao.. dont be mad 😊 you'll find happiness in something else besides treating people like shit behind an anonymous moniker online some day friend 😊
I'm married to a real woman who is real AND authentic! She gave birth to our beautiful daughter. This creature here is an affront to what womanhood is! And this joker there, pay him millions, give him a script and he'll never disappoint.
Udip Adhikari being transgender means that whatever gender you were assigned at birth doesn’t feel right to you and you experience a lot of discomfort being in that body because you feel that’s not what you’re supposed to look like and so people transition to the gender they feel most comfortable as, sometimes by taking hormones and having operations
KayJayPea sorry but that is biologically impossible, if i buy a ford car but feel like calling it a mercades it doesn't change the fact that it's a ford car. Feelings and logic are two different things
Being transgender means that you’re born as one sex, like someone being born as a girl, but as they grow up they realize they’re not a girl. It could be vice versa for trans women.

Thanks for posting.
This is the best thing i've heard in a while :) To anyone who is now interested in trans history go look it up, its a big part of our species history.
Don't Trust Rainbows Come on, it is definitely a part of a long tradition. But its not a important part of history.
tradition is just repeated behaviour and all of history is important but the more we know about other people that aren't you is valuable, if this history was teached in most schools we would have alot less racists and prejudice filled people in our society. Sorry if you don't see the same value in that knowledge.
i got a notification that you replied but it isn't fully showing, guessing YT is derping again.
Get it, girl! Yasss! 💕
Love Love Love the show! Great story lines! Emotional roller coaster!
If you ask them what they would like to be called, you can call them that, and if they decide to be called something else, you can do that too
Fair enough
lazyperfectionist1 to
It's really just about respect. You aren't lawfully obligated to call someone by their preferred pronouns but NOT doing it just makes you an asshole and deserving of scorn.
Come through Janet Mock on The Trevor Noah Talk Show Yesssssss 5/14/24 .
I'm not sure trans ppl are as old as time but I do believe these ppl are brave and kind. Trans is beautiful
It is well documented in ancient history
Jo March transpeople have been here since the beginning .. just google lol
I also moved to NYC for college because of Felicity! 😂😂😂😂
She's Hott
Who else attempted to press "Like" before the interview even started?
Read her memoir in one LGBT course in UC Berkeley.
Growing up as a cis, white, gay male in North Dakota, couldn't be more excited and proud to learn that she married my 2nd cousin. Bringing a new light to the family and to the nation. So important.
Ryan Murphy has a long way to go to make up for perpetuating the "predatory trans woman" trope (see Nip/Tuck season 2). This is a start.
Sexy? Duh. Intelligent? Also duh! Didn't expect that second part did you?
What a queen 😍
Facts
REDXRANGE excuse you. that word is extremely offensive and derogatory towards people like us.

REDXRANGE tf??
I love this show 🤩
the wonder woman thing makes me wonder
charlie's angels had fight scenes
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li this movie was so badass too
and without even superpower
and a lot of female heroines that has action and power
so why wonder woman has all the credit
this is really unfair for the mainstream to discard the other works like that
There is nothing new on this planet trans or not every person thinks the same shit yes or no agree or disagree.imagine dj Khalid train for 2years still looking the same this is what we should be talking about guys
> A show about trans people made by a trans person
:D !
> "Five transwomen..."
WoW she look like cis 100%
I love being a transwomen
Nat Geo needs to do a feature on Trans pets! 👀😏

Boy, would I love to drag all of the "chromosome"/"biology"/"science" guys (and girls) into a lecture about post-structuralism...
Wow trevor you really need to tell your female friends that wonder woman was not the first film that has a woman kicking a man's ass...
Thats a really weird thing to cry about 😁
Jefrey Valencia tank girl
Jefrey Valencia agreed, it definitely wasn't the first. I assumed they meant first blockbuster, but I'm not sure.
Neon Panda. Black Widow in the Marvel movies, Ripley in Alien, Sarah Connor in Terminator, Lara Croft in Tomb Raider?
What a hottie
Actual facts
:D
So odd for Mock to say she's authentic compared to cis straight women (and she DID, rewatch if you missed it) when they are sitting there with fake hair, fake boobs and a surgeried face. I understand the point they were trying to make, but the swipe at XX's wasn't necessary. We can all be great without the shade.
218 dislikes? What the heck was so offensive about this? o.O
SAM MULLER reported your comment, Ben Shapiro is over that way troll.
Atley Meow

SAM MULLER gosh.. I could have sworn you were some first world internet culture white boy getting your kicks out of playing armchair nihilist troll. Sheesh, glad to know your a doctor! Lmao.. dont be mad 😊 you'll find happiness in something else besides treating people like shit behind an anonymous moniker online some day friend 😊
All of this.. all good shit rite here fuck god damn yes
I'm married to a real woman who is real AND authentic! She gave birth to our beautiful daughter. This creature here is an affront to what womanhood is! And this joker there, pay him millions, give him a script and he'll never disappoint.
Aaaannnddd scene!

what really is a transgender? male body with female parts and vice versa? i don't get transgender
touche
Udip Adhikari being transgender means that whatever gender you were assigned at birth doesn’t feel right to you and you experience a lot of discomfort being in that body because you feel that’s not what you’re supposed to look like and so people transition to the gender they feel most comfortable as, sometimes by taking hormones and having operations
KayJayPea sorry but that is biologically impossible, if i buy a ford car but feel like calling it a mercades it doesn't change the fact that it's a ford car. Feelings and logic are two different things
so physically there is nothing visibly wrong with the body? like if you were to see them you could identify them as male or female right
Being transgender means that you’re born as one sex, like someone being born as a girl, but as they grow up they realize they’re not a girl. It could be vice versa for trans women.
