- After driving the delica on a long road trip I think if i did the same in a HIACE it could be ever better! Although it does seem slower and might struggle on the highway those curtains are the ultimate flex lol

@@denniswilliamswilliams4450 the delica i drove to atlanta is 2.4 4cyl turbo diesel and terrible on gas low 20s MPG
@@Waybeforethefame the hiace get about 23 mpg it a little better than the delica
The Hiace has a better power to weight ratio, and it can run the whole day without refuelling, that's why van rental operators prefer it over other Japanese vans
Really? My biggest issue with the delica was the MPGs. The delica is a 2.4 diesel this is a 3.0
@@Waybeforethefame disadvantage, though, is that it has a deep fuel tank (80 liters capacity, which can be expensive to fill up) but it'd last you a day in an apocalypse
Man I checked both of them out a month ago. I ended up buying a prado. Hiace is definitely better than a delica if you don't care about crazy off roading. Some limited modess have parking sensors, intercom (joyfull talk), cool box, tea maker, power spoiler in the front bumper etc.
Yeah that red prado I seen is nice, I think the Hiace is just too big and annoying for nyc

Toyota Hi Ace vans sound great and all but the only thing about owning one while living in North America is that the parts to fix one have to be shipped from Japan!?, correct me if I am wrong, but for how reliable they are I am sure that would be totally worth it.

My association with the HiAce is as a commercial vehicle workhorse. The passenger version should no doubt be just as tough and reliable.

@Waybeforethefame I drove my lexus RX to Mexico and west coast and Canada. I was thinking about the hiace because of 4wd and the space. After owning the prado with the same diese motor, i realized that its expensive to fill them up with the current prices. l
I've been wondering, why don't these "full-size" JDM vans have dual sliding doors (like on Kei vans)?
I think they did it to add more features on that door that doesn't open
