I'm a Truex Fan, and I thought he was going to win the race and I was really upset when he got clipped at the end, but this was still an amazing finish for sure tho.

I did not realise Nascar did anything other than turn left on an oval track, I might have another look.
Oh yeah...the past few years they have added more road courses and are dipping their toes back into dirt tracks also.
arent the new cars gonna be able to turn both ways properly? guessing thats gonna come with more roval races

Johnson utilized a strategy of winning a race to make the playoffs, then spending the regular season trying set ups for the playoffs and gathering data, not necessarily focusing on winning. Here he is seen focusing more on winning, instead of the championship, and getting unlucky. The crash changed him, he’s talked about it. He had a crash at Watkins glen where his brakes failed and he slammed the wall, he said his mistake was turning into the turn instead of riding the wall. He said he made the same mistake at pocono that day, and it cost him a lot of his confidence in his own abilities.

I was their in the pits with my friend!! All we heard were the YAYYYYS when Jimmy Johnson Spun, the AWWWW when Martin Truex Jr. Wrecked and the LETS GOOOOO when Ryan Blaney won the race!! Man those were good days😄

@@51-FS if I remember correctly he blew the 1st or second gear. He said something as much in the interview, he lost like 20 positions heading to the line.

The race that made me a blaney fan. I bought a 1:64 scale dicast of the race win car and found this race from it and have loved him since. Such a kind and humble guy.

In this case, Johnson tried to create an opportunity that wasn't there. If he pulled it off, he would have been Senna. Instead, he resembled the guy who took out Nigel Mansel at Indy, under a yellow flag.

For those old enough to remember Nascar' s first televised race at Daytona on the final lap Richard Petty and David Pearson had the same kind of wreck very close to the checker flag. Difference, David Pearson was able to limp across for the win. All this was over shadowed by the fight between the third and fourth turn between Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison and his brother Donnie Allison. That happened after Cale and Bobby also wrecked. Cale was able to get out of his car first and got to Bobby before he could get out. Donnie stopped to help his brother. And that was my friends what brought Nascar'to the big game on national TV. Of NASCAR really wants to save itself in my opinion the first thing is to go back to, win on Sunday sale on Monday. Go back to cars that people actually can go to a dealership and touch. Go back to your base if not you're going to suffer the same thing but Bud Light is, just a little slower. You had a format that worked great for at least 30 years. Then you had someone, who probably had no ties to the past, start making stupid changes and you are now reaping the results. Let Bud Light be a warning.
I was at this race, incredible finish. This was the first year the Roval was open.

I think the Charlotte Roval is the best track to be added to the schedule in the last 10 years, especially with the drama of it being an elimination race in the playoffs, and it produces exciting racing in spite of the stage racing, hopefully this doesn't change with the Next Gen car and the fact that the teams are getting tons of data with it on the Roval (because we have seen what happens when a series does tons of testing at a track that hosts a race, I mean look at F1 at Barcelona)

@@tailwatcher2500 In my opinion, road racing is exciting. It’s a part of how the racing has improved. I think the racing has gotten better over the last 10 years or so. The playoff format is better now, again, in my opinion. And yep, been to 4 IMSA races. Went to one when it was the American Le Mans.
