Mr. Smith is one of the BEST REALTORS I have seen on this show thus far. He was all about the BUYER!! Great Job.

Yes this agent is the real deal even countering lower than the buyer, unheard of. This is how you build clientele.

That is the first time in my life that I have ever seen roads behind backyards. I can't imagine sitting in my yard or enjoying a family barbecue with cars whizzing by. Very strange.

When my husband and I were on the market for our first house we knew limitations that we have because of the budget we needed to meet. This couple had demands and expectations to buy a dollar for a penny. They were VERY lucky with the realtor. Another person would just leave them standing in the middle of the road with all their demands.

Wow! I can’t believe how cheap houses are where you’re looking.
In our area you can get a dilapidated shack for $150k or less.

Good realtor, looked after them well. Bet their home is worth a lot more now, though, since prices went up quickly.

Yikes. I bought in Houston around the same time as the couple on this show (well, early 2013). I am so glad I got in before the prices picked back up.

jeffy john: 4 yrs I was thinking it was TEN!! Under 150K in Austin I'm surprised he didnt pull up to a trailer park or tent. If this is in the 09 zip code I will die. I can't watch these shows when they do Texas b/c I'm on the phone with a realtor and headhunter. In a decent part of DC none of those would be less than 500K or not much below it.

ocky88: Houston amazed me its the 3rd or 4th largest city in America - but no one LIVES THERE LOL everyone lives in Sugarland or Katy or Spring or Woodlands etc
Houston always seemed a little higher than Dallas, Austin, or SA but other than River Oaks of course and Buffalo Bayou its like no one "lives" downtown. RO isn't "downtown" but its in the city certainly. I think it may have changed though since I was there 10 yrs ago.

It would be $350, 000 in the Detroit Metro area now. A house payment Of $900 dollars and some I would love that. We just bought a brand new house for $210 k.1,803sq. feet with a 750 sq. basement. We had 20% to put down and a 20 year mortgage is going to be $1,400 with the drywalled basement and a few other things financed. It is an hour drive to work each way. It is in a smaller town outside the city. It is said how prices about have doubled. Interest rates are low now but when they go up houses will be way to expensive for middle class people.
