Hello! Am having troubles with my own mercedes w211 with om646, loss of power and fault code 2359-1. I havent found any problem yet and will look into the egr, did you have any faultcodes?
you can just take to plastic cover off the right hand end and clean the carbon dust out a oil it up and then see if it is working all in one go without taking it out .simple enough
Brother i have a w203 220cdi and i have same problem of egr , i watched some videos on RUclips and i have done the same job that you also did.But after 2 week i have got the same problem that egr is not working any more and the engine light in on also. And when i have done diagnosis it show the error P0404 , P2062, P2014. Can you please help me!!!
Looks like your EGr is dead, so I would try and borrow a working one and install it. Reset the codes and see what happens. Looks like you have an issue either with the air flow meter or O2 sensors, so I would test them too with a multimeter.
@@GentilsGarage thank you so much brother, i have one more question 😅, my car show also that the the oil level sensor (in error) is not working, so i bought the new sensor and replaced perfectly, but it’s not working and I can’t check the oil level!!
@@ihtishamarshad9033 no idea. Is it a proper sensor from Hella or something? My old BMW E46 had a non hella sensor and failed after a couple of months I installed it. Also, I made sure all contacts were clean. The code needs do be cleared after installing it. Apart from that, I don’t know anything else.
Gracias por compartir conocimientos.
De nada

thank you

Hi, no fault codes as I caught it in time and cleaned it before it caused problems

Thats right for a more frequent cleaning but since this was the first time it was done on this car, I preferred to do it this way.

How many kilometers was the car when you did this?
around 110,000Km
Thanks for the response
Do you pass ex.
emision test with that car?
Yes, no problem at all. Well below the limits.
Thank you for the video. How do you manual activate this ERG valve to see if it still works?
No idea. If it doesn’t work, it should through a code. Mine was just dirty, but not the worse I’ve seen.
how long did you leave engine running before remove valve ? Because I tried remove it with cold engine and it was impossible :-)
David Grygárek at least 5 minutes. Yes, removing it from cold is impossible.
@@GentilsGarage It's not impossible, there is special tool for that like a giant sea crab tentacles
@@ssdivizion I know, but 9 out of 10 of diy mechanics like me don’t have that.

That Red cap îs from The automatic transmission fluid.
No, that is the engine oil dipstick tube. It does not have a dipstick. Auto transmisión disptick isnon the left.
there shouldnt be no smoke as the car is fitted with a dpf!
This has no dpf
@@GentilsGaragehow can that be when my 2005 has one? yours is 2007
@@phillipcole-c7p it wasn’t standard fitment until later. And I know it wasn’t removed because it doesn’t even come on the build sheet
