    The G-10 Espada is actually one of my favorite EDC's. It fits snuggly in my pocket. It deploys lightning fast and, does not attract so much attention as the large polished one (which I also have). In my humble opinion, the Large G-10 Espada is one of the best folding knives ever made! Great video btw...

      Yeah for carry and defense the G10 Aus10a blade version is the best , I personally call it the Combat
      The Aluminum with fancy G10 is a work of art and it is very functional and the only problem is you will not want to use it like the all G10 scale and the G10 version is slimmer in the pocket,
      But the S35VN steel is not a joke and will out cut the Aus10a all day.
      But the G10 Combat is a better EDC also for me. 👍
      Wise I could have got the CTS HXP steel model. 😊

    I love the G10 espada large. It is in my opinion the best knife I’ve ever owned. I’ve carried it for at least 7 years everyday. Only now do I not carry it as much because it hard to replace if something happens. Mine is the tan Xhp model.
    The espada is modeled after the Spanish Navaja. It was a traditional fighting knife. It was after the no sword laws so the Spanish made huge folders.
    What makes coldsteel so great in my opinion, Lynn Thomson is a real martial artist he trains and surrounds himself with the best martial artist in the world. So he designed his knives for real world use.
    Many knife makers claim their knives are for self-defense but have no idea how to really use a knife.
    The one knife designed from the ground up for knife fighting is the vaquero xl serrated. That knife can stab or slash equally well.
    Just a few things I’ve learned over the years. I found out because I study Filipino martial arts and Lynn is deeply involved in that.

    Love it! This and the XL Clip Point Voyager really idealize the pocket Bowie category.

      I had a difficult choice between those two. I already had the Tanto, and Drop Point XL Voyager, so I went with the Espada. I could not justify getting the Voyager Clip point unless I was a dedicated collector.

    FYI, the Espada, is based on a Spanish Fighting knife called the Navaja. Witch was very popular in Span back in the 1800's. Lynn Thompson designed the Espada after said Navaja, to be a fighting knife. I have the XL version with the 7.5 inch blade, it is a monster. Biggest pocket knife in my collection.

    I’ve got the XL Espada. HUGE!!! LOL! I usually carry the Voyager XL clip point. I tried carrying the XL Espada for a week. I only made it 4 days. I couldn’t deal with size and weight. I need to get this smaller model and see if I like it as much as the Voyager. I occasionally carry the new Talwar. But I keep going back to my Voyager.

    • @FriedPi-mc5yt
      @FriedPi-mc5yt Год назад +1

      @@carlostovar8585 I carry the clip point model. It’s a nice all around cutter for what I do at work. I like the Talwar but it doesn’t ride as well in my pocket as the Voyager XL does. I’ve got the plain Vaquero version. It’s a good all around cutter too. But I’ve had issues with the blade shape on some tasks, so back to the clip point I went. I’m going to get the new drop point Voyager XL and see how I like it versus the clip point. I imagine it will be as utilitarian.

      That handle length on the Espada XL was just too much for me. I understand it has to be that long for the coverage of the blade, but I went with the large, and a Magnum Tanto 7.5 in fixed blade.

    Large Espada G10 is a knife that really make the Espada knife series usable without worry because the XL Espada is too l big for EDC and the premium Espada's Large & Extra Large will have you too concerned with scratches, so the
    Large Espada G10 take care of those problems ⚔️ , plus the AUS10A steel hold a very good edge and is better then the older Espada knives made with AUS8a steel ⚔️ this G10 Espada knife is a win win for those who like true multi use Mega Folders. ⚖️📸⚖️

    • @LonestarTaoboy
      @LonestarTaoboy 6 месяцев назад

      That was a difficult choice to be sure. Finally I settled on the Espada for two reasons: The price (got the Espada for $92 at SMKW), and the overall robustness of the Espada over the Talwar. If I were a dedicated collector, I would absolutely get the large Talwar also.

    My original Large Espada that I got probably 3-4 years ago does not have that pin rattle at all; it stays completely solid and flush no matter where the blade is. My XL is the same, no problems like that. I think you got one with a manufacturing error. You should have had it replaced if it came like that.

    5:53 Falchions and langmessers often have a pretty similar blade shape. Especially at the point. I still believe Cold Steel just used the term "espada" because of the length.

    • @kellykeegan2608
